So what if I say I want to do my own thing then? What are you going to do about it?" I huffed.
"I'm a goddess after all! Do you want to fight with me?" With a grin still on her face, she answered proudly. "Of course, I'm going to continue observing you until you finish everything that you're doing!"
"And what if I still don't want to do what you said?" "I'll zap your mind so it'll never have the ability to think again! I'm the goddess of Wisdom and Knowledge after all!" She said as she laughed maniacally.
For a while, I just stood there, not a single word coming out of my mouth, waiting for her to finish. Watching her laugh like this triggered something in the back of my mind. From the moment I saw her and talked to her, there was something that kept nagging at me. She seemed a little familiar, and I knew about her, but deep down, I wanted to forget about her.
"Hmm, lost for words? Hear me out, okay, young one. Oh no, human. It's your fault that you left your world unattended when you wrote your self-inserted 'hero' character. You could've made your job more complete by adding a little more detail. That would make your job easier right now. Oh wait, you can't, can you?!"
She kept laughing and laughing as she kept cornering me by pointing out the problems that I probably couldn't even fix in my past. Even raging or trying to retort her opinion didn't seem worth the time because she could come up with something out of this world or twist my words until my mind couldn't think of anything else that could resist her responses. She's a god of Wisdom, after all.
Damn you, goddess.
For a while, she glared at me. She looked a little irritated as she scoffed.
"Know your place, human."
Her attitude caught me off-guard. I knew that she could read my mind, but this kind of reaction seemed out of character for her. Well, I hadn't communicated with anyone other than my parents after I graduated from college, but I assumed people didn't like being cursed at?
"Don't make yourself too comfortable here, even though I'm friendly with you. I'm still a goddess, so mind your manners," she continued, sneering at me.
Trying to change the topic, I asked.
"Then why are you still keeping me here? In every story I've read, a god's job is only to guide the one who's trying to be reincarnated and give them overpowered abilities to send them off, right?"
Quickly, her irritation and disgust vanished, replaced by a warm smile
"I already knew that."
"So why are you still keeping me he-"
"Because I want you to remember me first," she said in an orderly tone, still keeping her smile wide.
I did know her in the past. My thoughts ran scattered, opening all sorts of different memories to confirm that she really existed in the form of something in the past.
"You know, that story of yours is really interesting, you know that, right?"
Something immediately clicked in my mind as she finished her sentence. Story? How could I forget? She said before this that I'm going to go to 'my' world and fix the things that my Main Character has left behind. As I was about to answer, I stopped for a while, my face expressing confusion.
"What's wrong, human? Have you figured everything out already?" She quipped sarcastically, her smile now really getting on my nerves.
"The goddess that reincarnated the MC isn't you. I remembered her name being-"
"Seraphelle, huh?" She sounded a bit disappointed, sighing as she said that name.
"Yeah...that."
"Didn't I tell you that my name is Elyssia, The Goddess of Wisdom and Knowledge? Does that ring any bells?"
I stood in silence again, now racking my brain even harder, trying to figure out why this name sounded familiar.
"Ah! I remember now! You're the one that I always mention in my writing and artifacts that the MC got. I thought it was cool to put your name that way so the fans could speculate things about you, but I never thought you would look like this..."
"Why do you need to put in that remark about my appearance...?"
For a second, I felt a little sympathetic as I had never paid much attention to her, but I didn't really care for her that much since after this, I would probably never meet her again.
"Ahem, so now that I've remembered things about you, could you reincarnate me into the new world now?" I asked, now a bit desperate.
Surprised, she then looked at me, realizing that she still had that task to do. "Oh yeah, thank you for reminding me. Farewell then, human. Good luck on your journey," she grinned warmly, with a light shining from above the clouds, blinding me once again.
For the final time before I left this place, I sighed. It's a shame that I would never have the chance to meet her again. Her personality really emanated inside me, with the nostalgic bubbly and happy-go-lucky feeling that I missed when I decided to start writing a light novel in my life.
For the first time in my life, I wanted someone to accompany me on my adventure.
Seconds after that piece of mind leaked out of my mind, as fast and powerful as lightning, a figure then came between us.
Dazed, she turned to the figure and started panicking, trying as hard as she could to cancel the ritual to reincarnate me into the other world, but it kept going. At this moment, I could feel the tension in the air. Even if I didn't see what was going on, from her voice, she was trembling, fearing something.
"H-Hey, we can talk about this, V-Votarion. I know that your job is to fulfill wishes and stuff, and we both know that we heard what he was saying inside his heart, but please, r-reconsider this."
Upon hearing that name, I immediately knew who it was. It was a god that I usually associated with fulfilling wishes, often invoked at wishing wells or when a falling star appeared to grant someone's wishes. But I was initially confused. Why was she this scared to meet a usually benevolent god like him? Then I heard what she said to him that made my heart jump for joy while also filling me with guilt.
"Y-You're not going to reincarnate me with him just because he wished me to accompany him, r-right? P-Please, Votarion, I beg you." Her voice sounded hoarse, tears streaming down her cheeks. She was getting desperate, but he didn't seem to care. He turned to me.
"Human, rejoice, as this is the first and final wish that you could take as our creator. It's my appreciation to you. Desirelum! (The combined word for Desire and Illumination)"
As the light grew brighter, her cries faded, and all I could hear was pure silence. I slowly opened my eyes to find stars and planets passing through me, with shining particles illuminating the darkened sky. In front of me, there was a light that I continued to walk toward. The sounds of shimmering instruments and flowing water continued to amplify the calm and serenity of the environment.
Past memories and events, all plastered around the walls that's wrapping me, the comfort that I never felt before, all come rushing like a gushing river. For moments here and there, I recounted the events in my life, graduation from high school, the time where I slipped into the river just because I step on the fish that I pull out when I and my father gone fishing, when my novel jumped up in popularity, it was a lot of moments in my life.
Continuing to walk the path, I got closer and closer to the light at the end of the tunnel. My heart felt both excitement and fear about what was to come. I hesitated to step into the light, but I reassured myself, What should I be scared of? I just need to start over. With that thought, I bolstered my will and took a deep breath.
"I can do this"
I didn't think twice. A little fear still lingered in my heart, but I tried to convince myself I could handle it. It might seem a bit pathetic, but it was all I had. With that, I stepped into the light, a smile on my face, ready to start my next life in the world I had tirelessly created night after night, day after day. It was finally here.
"I'm finally here, in my world."

A loud cry could be heard as a baby was picked up by the nurse to be on her arms and gently swinging him side to side to calm it down.
"Mister Aldert. Congratulations, it's a boy," she whispered softly so as not to disturb the baby, who was on the verge of falling asleep, to its father. The father rushed into the room and took the baby from the nurse, cradling it gently. His face showed pure happiness as he said with a smile,
"This child will be named Ardentia, Ardentia van Emberstrand!"
