Chapter 40 - What's in the Dark?

It was an old woman. She was lying helpless in the restroom. Detective White couldn’t help but wonder what the old woman was doing here? “Ma’am, are you alright? This is Detective White!” His Akdal Ghost TR01 was held firmly between his sweaty fingers. The light was still flickering that he could barely see. He was bold enough to enter the dark restroom to check on the old woman.

“Is anyone here with you?”

“Talk to me, ma’am!”

Obviously, Detective White arrived late. His gaze was drawn to the hole in the old woman’s left chest with her heart gone. “Fuck!” he exclaimed. He didn’t know what to do but was certain that the suspect is still in the building.

He steeled his failing nerves and breathed out a puff of cold air and sprang back to his feet and continued with his search. He noticed a weird movement behind him. He quickly flicked around steadying his Akdal Ghost TR01 and ready to pull the trigger but there was no one.
