Ch 28 - School Offer
Albion and Eve walked with Souvee to the living room. Eve held onto Albion's hand as she followed Albion. When they got in they saw a bulky man. Brown skin, blond hair. A sharp smile in red-scaled armour. His armour was big and bulky, covering his entire body. You could tell he was muscular underneath the big armour.
???: So you're the kid all the adventurers in my guild are talking about.
Albion looked very confused by the way the man spoke. Specifically what the man said.
Albion: Your guild? I haven't seen you in my eight years of life.
Albion got lightly slapped over the head by his mother. His dad also looked at Albion with slight shock.
Souvee: Don't be so rude.
Albion rubbed the back of his head. He didn't mean to be rude. He was just stating a fact. The man smiled as he looked at Albion from the seat he was sitting on.
???: HAHAHAHAHA! Don't worry. I'm sure he was just being direct. I like it like that. Yes, the guild in the village is my guild. I'm the guild master of the Salbeer Village Adventurers Guild. Heart's the name. Nice to meet you…. Little Albion.
Albion: Nice to meet you too. {So he's important. The Adventurers Guild is a massive organisation. They don't just let anyone become guild master. Even if it is of a village guild.}
Heart then turned his attention to Eve. Eve still holding Albion's hand.
Heart: And this is your little girlfriend. She does look very pretty.
Heart smiled while looking at her. Albion stepped in front of her as he glared at Heart.
Alekia: Albion! Sto…
Heart put his hand out as Alekia instantly silenced himself.
Heart: It's fine Alekia. Your son just keeps getting better and better. 12 goblins of which 2 were variants. A mage and a powerful warrior type. And from what Jolene says, more blue slime kills than can recorded. I can only assume that the recent Grey Dire Wolves and Goblins that were sold by your father were also you. {There should be no reason he would start hunting again after becoming a doctor.}
Heart looked back at Alekia as he nodded. Confirming what he thought was true.
Alekia: You would be right. {I'm so screwed. We got caught on tax evasion!}
Heart smiled as he looked at Albion.
Heart: Amazing. Now pass me your hand Albion.
Albion: You want to hold my hand?
Heart: *Pff* You scared of someone just because they're bigger than you?
Heart would have been full of himself if he thought that. He may have been tall but only just about his father's height. His mother was way taller than him.
Albion: Not scared. Just confused as to why?
Heart: Just to check something.
Albion looked at Heart's hand. Albion put out the hand that wasn't holding Eves. Heart smiled and held it. Albion felt mana entering his body but his father seemed to know Heart so he let it through. If Heart tried Albion wouldn't be able to resist anyways.
Heart: Strong body not of your age. Dragon heart with an amazing amount of mana for your age. However, your physical training is lacking if we compare it to those already training with the same sized body. Overall pretty good. A pass in my eyes.
Heart let go of Albion's hand as Albion put it back at his side.
Albion: A pass for what?
Heart: For a recommendation. You see I've just come back from a really really boring war with the Demon Kingdom. And when my wife who you know as Jolene told me about you as well as every adventurer in the guild supporting her. I just had to come and see. I want to see how such a unique child grows up. So kid. How would you like to go to school?
Albion: School? Like what Mrs Winchester did teaching me maths and language and culture.
Albion hadn't went to school in this world. While he snuck into school in his past life he didn't attend all that often. So he didn't have a proper understanding of what school life was like.
Heart: Exactly. But this will be a lot more fun. Because people like Mrs Winchester will also be teaching magic, weapons training, and dungeon exploring. Everything you could possibly want and more.
Albion: People like Mrs Winchester? Do you mean strong?
Heart: I know the principal and he's an 8th circle mage. There are also Aura Swordsmen and A-rank adventurers as teachers.
Albion: Woah. {I've only heard of an Aura swordsman. The class is just before Sword Saint. But it's still extremely difficult to get the class. You have to spend nearly a whole human lifetime dedicated to the sword to get that class. And the 8th circle thing sounds impressive. But me and dad haven't needed it because he has Mana Lines and I have that and the Dragon Heart.}
Heart looked at Albions look of amazement and shock. Giving a slight laugh at his obvious face.
Heart: You seem to like it. Want to go? You'll be among people strong like you. Though mostly nobles.
Albion couldn't lie. It was a tempting offer. But Albion wanted to know one thing. A deal breaker for him.
Albion: Will Eve be able to come?
Heart: Nobles aren't allowed their maids or slaves so no. You won't be able to bring her.
Albion: Then no. I don't want to.
Alekia: Albion! Don't be so rude!
Eve: Albion.
Albion turned to look at Eve as she squeezed his hand.
Albion: Eve I don't want to go if I'm without you.
Eve looked into Albion's eyes as she held his hand tighter.
Eve: Please go Kikiki. Your dream of being an adventurer will be even easier if you do. Besides, when you get back you'll be strong enough to not fall face-first in the mud kikiki.
Albion gave a small smile as he remembered the moment. He sighed looking into Eve's beautiful eyes.
Albion: But… what about you?
Alekia: She's a healer and an alchemist. Who better to help her than your father who's a doctor and a healer? When you come back we'll let you visit the world. You'll be too old for us to hold you back. And you'll have your own little clinic to follow you around.
Albion heard his father and it made sense. If he went they would both grow well from this. But one last question was weighing on his mind.
Albion: Wait? How long is the school period?
Heart: 8 Years. Boarding type. The first year is trying everything to get a feel of it. 2nd is more narrowing in on what you want. And the other 6 are dedicated to what you choose.
Albion opened his eyes in shock. Was a normal school period really 8 years?!
Albion: I'll be gone from Eve for 8 years! But… but I just found her!
Albion felt Eve squeeze his hand harder as he looked back at her.
Eve: Please go.
Eve got closer and whispered in his ear.
Eve: If you're worried the time will stop me loving you it won't kikiki. But promise me you'll at least write. And don't bring back too many other women kikiki.
Albion: Are you sure? I love you. I don't want to let you go. {Wait… what did she say at the end?!}
Eve: When you come back I won't let you go. I'll cling to you for the rest of our lives kikiki.
Heart: So adorable. So I assume you've changed your decision.
Albion: I… I will go. But I need…
Heart: Great.
Alekia: Albion catch.
Albion caught a pouch of money and his sword with armour. All silver coins in the pouch.
Albion: Why…
Heart: See ya guys later.
Albion: What?! Wait I need to ask Eve what she…
Heart grabbed Albion by the collar as he crushed a stone he pulled out of thin air. The entire scenery changed.
Albion was no longer in his house but on a white stone platform with Heart. Rune glowing blue from the platform and white columns around it. Many people appearing in a blue light on the platform.
Albion looked around and he wasn't in his village anymore. A massive busy city. Houses made of brick and stone instead of wood like in his village. It was so busy on both the ground and the air. People jumping roof to roof or flying. It had a completely different atmosphere as it was loud. But everyone looked younger.
Heart: Welcome to the city, country boy!
Albion glared at Heart from his hand. Still being held by the collar.
Albion: Let me down!
Heart dropped Albion as he ran to a corner of the platform. Throwing up from the nausea he felt after appearing in a new location.
Heart: Ha newbie.
Albion walked back to Heart. Heart was smiling.
Heart: So you ready ki…
Albion punched Heart in the stomach as he went flying into a pillar in the centre of the large platform they were standing on. Albion putting everything into that one punch. A massive amount of mana into his new Body Mana skill as a large blue glow surrounded Albion as everyone watched.
Albion: YOU DIDN'T EVEN LET ME SAY GOODBYE YOU ASSHOLE! OR ASK A QUESTION I HAD!
Heart: That was amazing! You already know high-grade Body Mana! Your so impressive little guy.
Albion tried to turn around but a hand chopped him as a red aura was around Hearts hand.
Albion: You… ass… hole.
Albion fell unconscious. Heart picking him up and throwing him over his shoulder. Carrying Albion like luggage. Picking up Albions stuff.
Heart: Did Mrs Winchester teach this kid Body Mana? Mighty generous of her. Though the kid needs to work on his physique. Even when he poured a lot of mana into the punch, the punch only barely tickled.
Heart said as he jumped from roof to roof. Towards a large central tower in the centre of the city. This wasn't just any city. The entire school was the city. All anyone could need.
