"Let's get down to business" I grumbled

Looking at the files and contracts sent from Shelly to my email, I began sorting out whose contract needs to be terminated and who I need to partner up with

Ring Ring Ring

"Ugh where's that damn phone"

Ring Ring Ring

"Ohh there it is"

Picking up the call without much thought at the unknown number

"How may I be of help to you" I said

"Vince is dead, Your next hahahhahaaaa!!"the voice at the other line yelled, I heard a snort from someone at the background

"Slow down there, ahh I didn't even get to thank you for getting rid of him, well as for me don't worry we'll be meeting sooner than you'd expect" I could feel the andrealine rush in my body ohhhh it's been so long since I'd played games like this

"Well then Princess, I'll be expecting you" I could hear the sarcasm in his voice

"Now you listen here muchacho am a whole lot of things but Princess nahhhhhhh that I ain't"

I was angry, this wasn't the first time someone underestimated me.

I didn't want to hear what the maniac was about to say if this was suppose to be a threatening call, well... He failed

Getting up from my desk I got one of my numerous burner phone

"Hey I heard you in town" said the person on the other line

"Hey Shawn guess what?"I said smirking

"Spill"he said noting my serious tone

"He called My family's murderer"

"And..."

"Fucking idiot called to threaten me"

"What did he say Ash" Shawn said, I could hear the gritting of teeth and I knew he was angry

Shawn had always been the most protective we grew up together

"I'm next he wants me dead and am now pretty convinced this isn't our normal business competitors, maybe an old family grudge" I shrugged

"Don't worry I and the others we'll be coming over, since your about to officially announce your position as the CEO you'll be business, we could help " Shawn said

"Yes yes the company uhggggg I have so much work do to about that, anyways we'll talk tomorrow okay? I have to speak to Shelly "

"Okay bye"

Thinking about the threat call

I knew what he was doing, he wants the satisfaction of me being on my toes always looking behind my back well... He could have just left after getting rid of everyone in my family but the damn idiot just had to come for me didn't he? Well then play we shall

"Hey Shelly everything fixed for tomorrow?"

"Yes ma'am, everything's set you'll start with having the meeting with the shareholders before we officially introduce you to the media and don't worry I invited just few media companies

"Thank you Shelly okay get ready the game starts tomorrow" smiling at everything being set

HUGH'S POV

The Layne's Old Mansion

"Vince Cooper's neice is hosting a conference, she's going to officially announce that she's the CEO of their company" James Layne, my old man said

He has been following the news concerning the Cooper's recently and I can't help but wonder what he's aiming at

"Hmm that fast" i said smirking "let's see how she handles the scandal shall we I wonder if she's able to get their partners who cancelled their contract with them"

"Oh I assure you she's more than capable" my old man said

I couldn't help but wonder if he's seen her, I mean we've all heard about the heiress of the Cooper Industries but no one has seen her at a point I even began to wonder if she's real, like the woman didn't even show up for her own taking over ceremony, her Uncle had been the acting CEO till his death

"Do you know her? I mean personally do you know her?" I couldn't help but ask

Curiously eyeing my old man he just glanced at me without giving me a reply

"Continue working on the project with the Coopers, I want you to set up an appointment with them and insist on meeting the CEO " he ordered avoiding my question and raising my suspicion about his relationship with her not that I care though

"Yes I'll do that, now if you'll excuse me I've got things to do" I said getting up to go

"When was the last time you paid a visit to your mother Hugh?"

Ohh here we go again.

"I'll see her this weekend" I said already striding out

"You'd better" I heard him mumble

"Sir"Gary came running up to me

"Go home I'll drive myself to my apartment" I said waving him off...
