Blood part 1

Nikki and Thomas interrogate Skoll on the events that happened an hour earlier. After Finding Luna and Fenrir, they comforted them, but they were too shaken up to talk about the events. They gave them some time by letting them rest in a nearby room. Meanwhile, everyone else in the secret base is scrambling around to find Donavon to prepare for the attack on the city. They had gotten word that the Atrayain army is right over the horizon. Scouts had confirmed they are setting up camp in preparation for the upcoming war.

A magic candle flickers in the room next to Skoll who has no idea what happened after he blacked out. As far as he knows, he had just fainted. Thomas and Nikki exchange glances knowing there is much more to the story. They need to speak to Fenrir. However, when they found him, he was in no condition to talk. His manic cries made them think he was losing his mind, and they might be right.

Fenrir walks out of his dimly lit and stops in front of a door adjacent to his. His mind is racing with thoughts of regret, blaming himself for not being strong enough to save Luna with his own power. He grabs the mark on his chest, it keeps reminding him of how much of a weakling he is. Relying on a power other than his own disgusts him. He needs to pull himself together and train harder so something like this will never happen again.

He takes a deep breath to calm his nerves before knocking on the door. There's no response, but he enters the room anyway. The room is cold and dark with nothing to illuminate the room. The light from the corridor shining through the door reveals a lost and tortured soul. The depraved nature of humans taking advantage of an innocent girl is among the most grotesque of acts. For this poor soul, Luna may never be the same again.

Power corrupting the mind of a madman, no, he was already mad. Power in general corrupts the most innocent of souls. However, Fenrir needs power to protect his sister. He doesn't care what harm he brings to himself or others, as long as she is safe, nothing else matters. Seeing her like this, in her most vulnerable state, curled up on a bed in the fetal position sends waves of dread into his chest.

Fenrir leaves the room and closes the door behind him. He knows it's best to leave her alone from experience. There is something inside of him that wonders why he is so obsessed with her. Her beauty is magnificent, thst much he knows. Any guy lucky enough for her to fall for will be lucky. This obsession isn't sexualy charged, it's a sense of pride. Her form is the embodiment of purity. 'She will be the one to lead our species.' Fenrir declares. 'One of us needs to.' Fenrir wants Luna to be the face of all werewolves, to show the world their majestic form and kind spirit. Meanwhile his urge to do anything for her would land him to become a dark agent who would commit war crimes in the name of all werewolf kind. To deface his name, to serve his species for the better from the shadows.

A few of the humans who are in a rush accidently bump into Fenrir. He barely notices them, his mind wanders to the mystery of how Skoll came back to life. What kind of divine intervention is going on here, and why hasn't anyone found Donavan? 'Luna isn't safe as long as that bastard lives.'

Meanwhile, Thomas and Nikki are trying to figure out how Skoll came back to life. They have a hard time believing what Fenrir told them.

"I've never heard of such a thing happening." Thomas says. "There are no records of that kind of magic existing."

"New types of magic are discovered every year." Nikki states. "If it's true though, Skoll might be the only one that's able to use it."

"We should focus on finding Donovan." Skoll stands up growling at them for not focusing on the issue at hand. "The longer we wait, the more likely he is to get away."

Thomas sighs. "We don't know where to look. It's possible he fled already."

"You're forgetting one thing. I can track his scent."

"Ohh, that's right!" Nikki says. "You're just like a dog. Tracking him should be easy for you." Skoll growls at her again for comparing him to a domesticated animal.

"Everyone is in a frenzy at the moment." Thomas points out. "It'll be hard to get his scent with everyone running around the tunnels like madmen."

"Don't worry about that." Skoll says. "I'll manage to track him down if it's the last thing I do."

Everyone's attentions focuses on the door as the door handle moves. Fenrir stumbles inside and shuts the door behind him. His face seething with anger as he thinks about killing Donovan. "Are we hunting that bastard down or what?"

"Of course we are." Skoll says as he walks up to Fenrir with a smile in his face. "Do think I would allow him to get away with hurting Luna?"

"No. I was worried you'd be too scared to fight. But I guess being immortal changes you."

Skoll raises an his right eyebrow. "Since when was I too scared to fight?"

"What? Am I not allowed to tease you?" Fenrir grins at him, but his face turns serious a second later. "Let me kill him." Fenrir pleads. "You don't need to become a murderer like me. Let me do the dirty work."

"None of you should be killing anyone at your age." Nikki interjects. "Let the adults handle this, you just need to lead us to him."

Fenrir and Skoll exchange glances. Their minds are already made up. "You're staying here." Skoll says. "This is our fight." Fenrir nods his head in agreement.

"Thomas, talk some sense into them." Nikki pleads with him, but Thomas crosses his arms and shakes his head.

"This isn't our fight." Thomas raises his voice at her. "Besides, I only brought them here because I thought it would be enough repay my debt."

"YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS." Nikki yells. "We both know you care what happens to them." The fierce stare she gives him is enough to make Thomas nervous, but he stays true to his word. "Fine." She turns to the wolves. "I'm not letting you go by yourself."

"That's fine." Fenrir says. "As long as you let us have our revenge."

Nikki follows the wolves as they rush out the door and weave their way through the hordes of humans. She has trouble keeping up with them as she bumps into her coworkers, however, she manages to keep them in sight.

"Do you know where you're going?" Skoll asks.

Fenrir stops in his tracks as they reach an intersection. "I lost his scent. There are too many humans around. We might have to spit up."

Nikki catches up to them and tries speaking as she catches her breath. "That's a bad idea. You have no idea what he's capable of."

"We don't have a choice." Fenrir raises his voice. "He'll try to escape amidst the chaos. We need to cover more ground."

Skoll nods his head in agreement. "Listen, lady. Just because we let you come with us doesn't mean we are going to listen to you."

Nikki snickers at his comment. "I know you want to get revenge for what he did to Luna, but your not the only one he hurt."

Skoll ignores her and asks Fenrir what his plan is. Nikki can't believe how stubborn these children are. It makes her think twice about having children of her own.

"I'll go right, you go left." Fenrir turns to Nikki. "You can fuck off."

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?" Nikki's face turns red with rage. "I'm trying to help. I don't understand what your problem is."

"You never will." Skoll takes off running down the tunnel on his left. Fenrir follows his lead and runs down the tunnel on his right. Nikki stands there lost in thought wondering if she had done something wrong for them to treat her like this.

Fenrir races down the corridor as he follows the scent he lied about loosing. This is his fight, not theirs. He didn't gain this power for nothing. 'Skoll doesn't need to shoulder the burden of killing someone.' Fenrir will be the one to take all the responsibility upon himself. 'To kill those who threaten th...'

Fenrir stops in the middle of the tunnel as he watches the countless number of humans rushing pass him. 'I can hear their heartbeats. The blood flowing through their veins. I just need a taste.'
