Sea, sand and me

"Nooooo, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!!!" "Aaaaaaaaah!!!! Help!!!! Is anybody there?!?!!!!! Hello?!?!"

When the seagull heard her father say how humans were impulsive and irrational, driven by their own emotions, she didn't believe how far that could be true.

Perched atop a palm tree, she had been watching how the human had almost given her a heart attack the first moment they had seen each other, and since then she had already been fighting and shouting incoherent ramblings with no one in particular for 10 minutes.

"Fuck* me, are you fucking kidding me?!" 'Where am I!?' 'And my house?' I jumped up and the first thing I saw was the sea, the vast blue ocean stretching to the horizon with the sun rising above it, 'the sea?', 'what's it doing here? I turned my head and to the sides I was flanked by 2 stone cliffs and behind a thick jungle of lush jungle that did not let you see more than 5 meters away, it must be a joke.

At the moment I was flooded with different sensations at the same time: the sound of the waves crashing against the shore of the beach and the smell of salt water, the warmth of the sun against my skin, the breeze of the wind caressing my skin and the softness of the sand moving next to my feet. All together, it was a sticker of noises, which did not let me hear anything else. Alone and paralysed, I let out almost automatically: "shit".

My body temperature began to rise, and it wasn't because of the sun's rays, my heart was beating faster and faster, and I noticed how beads of sweat were accumulating on my forehead, my face got cold because of the lack of blood and my hands were shaking, the first thing I thought: 'this is real', but it couldn't be... NO! In a mechanized way I extended my right foot and made the first step, I noticed how the ground moulded under my foot, then the next and I repeated, faster and faster increasing the speed until it became a race by the sea, "Jenne!, Fanny!, dad!, mom!!!" "Is someone THERE?!", I didn't believe it, but I needed to understand, I needed someone to tell me what was going on, where was my family, was I alone?

I like the beach as much as the next guy, I really do, but if someone asked me now if I liked it I would have slammed his face into the sand, so he would swallow it whole.

The sand prevented me from being able to move properly, the frustration of constantly stumbling as my feet sank into the sand increased my anxiety more and more, and the anger was palpable. Although I am not a bodybuilder I like to train and stay in shape, yet with just a few steps I was already with my hands on my knees, sticking out my tongue, looking around desperately, just hoping that an acquaintance would appear around the corner and could pull me out of this spiral of confusion and despair.

NOTHING, NOBODY.

I stopped to sit on a stone to rest, it seemed that the race had helped, although my pulse was still racing, it was no longer because of anxiety, but because of the physical exercise I had done and that calmed me somewhat.

Even with the adrenaline in my body I reflected again on my situation, 'how did I get here?', 'was it a dream?', no, it could not be, all the emotions and sensations I was feeling were too strong not to be real.

Anyone would think that I had been kidnapped and brought here without me noticing..., this was not a movie where a rich guy kidnaps a group of people to have his manhunt on an uninhabited island, this was the real world, I didn't think it was possible. And yet, what was the last thing I remember? 'It was Friday night, at my family's house, after dinner, we watched some chapters of the TV series called criminal minds, they went to sleep, and I stayed up late on the couch, in the end I fell asleep around 03.00 in the morning, I guess, because then I don't remember any more...'

'So what is this, isekai,' I thought with an expressionless face, watching as a crab moved slowly along the shore. 'Ha ha ha ha, it's not possible,' I laughed at that possibility, I've read too many fan-fictions and light novels to think of ridiculous theories...'

My eyes widened, 'what if it's true...', I quickly brought my hands to my face, frantically feeling my body, checking for any changes, I quickly ran towards the beach, dipping my legs inside the cold sea, "how fucking cold!", my unsuccessful goal was to see my reflection in the water, "fuck, fuck* waves", proving more difficult than I thought, still I didn't notice any changes physically that told me I was different, height, weight, etc.

"buff" I sighed in relief, for the moment: "everything in its place".

I got out of the water, the cold was already threatening to make goose bumps appear on my body, I did not want to catch a cold, I activated myself a little to warm up and went back to the place where I had woken up, with renewed hope, maybe I could find some clue as to where I was.

Not even 5 minutes had passed when I recognized the place, the beach was not very big, and I just had to follow my own footprints.

The same palm tree leaning with the bushes on the sides, it even had a seagull on top, 'was it the same?', well, at least I'm not alone "no buddy?!", I said, so he could hear me, "Ha ha ha ha" I laughed and shook my head, so this is how it starts?, I'll go crazy and start raving, first with the animals and at the end with the plants.

I started to look around the area for any sign, paper or object that would tell me what happened to me, I would even settle for finding rubbish left by a tourist or a human being to give me hope. NOTHING, I found nothing!

For God's sake! I even stirred up the sand on the beach and climbed trees, all that for what, so that I would look like a damn monkey playing Tarzan.

Frustrated I gave up, at this point I was starting to get anxious again, a tingle ran through my body and my temperature was rising, "I need to, just, sit down..." I could feel it getting harder to breathe, "come on, breathe in ~jhhhhhh~....

1, 2, 3... let go ~Fffffff~ that's it" picking up the pace, I leaned against a rock as I contemplated what to do next.

Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
