Woman of Justice

Arya grabbed her side bag tightly and sneaked into her office, avoiding her Boss. She safely got to her seat and sighed.

"She's still here?" I didn't come for two days to avoid her,I thought she'd be gone by today. What are the police doing,huh?" She muttered as she watched her Boss from her seat with disgust.

"Arya?" Arya heard her co-worker.

"Hey! I've been here for a while,where did you go?" Arya let out an awkward chuckle, avoiding his eyes.

"You, how could you not show up for two days? What did the boss say? Did she see you?" The guy sat beside her, whispering.

"No,so keep quiet. I just have to wait for few hours, she'll be gone soon" Arya reassured herself.

" Gone? What do you mean gone? Is she getting transferred?" He asked.

" No, the police will be coming to get her, the police didn't come here the past two days, right?"

" Why would they come here? Did someone die?" He asked curiously as he moved closer to her desk.

"Heyyy, there are other crimes other than murder. You just watch,if they don't come today then tomorrow is the day"

" Arya,you... don't tell me you reported a higher-up to the police for a crime?" He asked, his eyes widened.

"Huh...why? Aren't they human? They're supposed to be punished for their crimes too" Arya said proudly.

"You're playing good citizen? Woman of Justice? You're really crazy... I'm out of words. You must have found a job in the last two days that you were absent. Look,I have nothing to do with this, okay?" He left her side quickly.

"What's with him? Such a coward. I can't just watch when a crime is going on. I just hope he cooperates when the police comes in" Arya sighed and went on to work.

" You came to work today, Arya" Arya looked up and her boss was staring at her keenly.

"Good morning ma'am. Yes, something came up so I couldn't come, I'll just remove those days from my vacation. I couldn't go on a break like everyone else back then"

Her boss scoffed and shook her head. " I really don't like you and I'll see to it that you're fired. Before my very own eyes " The woman said, she had always disliked Arya because of her attitude.

"Let's see who will chase who out of here today" Arya replied even though she wasn't sure of herself.

"We'll see" The woman walked away.

After a while, like Arya said. The police came in.

"Good day everyone. Who is Mrs Smith?" One of the policemen asked, looking around.

Mrs Smith, the boss stood up slowly and answered. "How can I help you?"

By that time, the attention of everyone in the office was on the policemen that entered.

"We received report of you sexually assaulting someone and we're here to confirm the report"

" What? Sexual assault?! Who gave such ridiculous report to..." Mrs Smith paused and looked at Arya. Their eyes met and Arya wouldn't look away too. She cussed under her breath and sighed.

"Look, policemen... I won't take this. Who's the victim? Let's hear from the victim himself" She blurted out and looked around.

" If you're the victim of my sexual assault come out!" She yelled at all the employees.

"If you were once sexually assaulted by Mrs Smith, even in a very little way, you can come out so justice can be served" The policeman announced.

Arya looked at the victim standing at the back, his head hung down. He was an intern in the company and Mrs Smith has been forcing herself on him. Arya had caught him looking at the nudes she sent the him several times. Arya knew he was disgusted by it so she walked up to him and told him to tell the police but he couldn't, so she decided to just do it instead. It wasn't the first time, her co-worker who was newly married quickly resigned when he was getting advances from Mrs Smith.

Arya looked at the intern and shook her head. He didn't have any courage so she was going to help him.

"Intern James, why don't you tell us what happened between you and Mrs Smith? I know what she has been doing to you. This is time to be free from her" Arya stepped out and said to the surprise of the other workers.

Everyone began to murmur. "The new intern? Really? What happened between them?"

" Arya,you! You went to report me to the police? Fine...Intern, why not come out and tell these policemen if it's true or not" Mrs Smith said, looking into Arya's eyes.

The intern stepped out slowly,with his head still hung down, he spoke. "Mrs Smith didn't do anything to me. I'm just here to work. I just came here for my internship and I'll soon be done. I don't want any trouble, please"

" You! They're the police,why are you so afraid? Show them your phone. Officers, check his phone. You'll find nudes of Mrs Smith and threat messages for him not to tell anyone." Arya said causing everyone to murmur again.

"Let us see your phone" The policemen demanded.

The intern gave them his phone with shaky hands, the policemen looked through the messaging app but didn't find anything.

"We couldn't find anything so we can't arrest Mrs Smith, also..."

" But she really assaulted him. I'm a witness" Arya interrupted.

" Miss Arya. If the victim said it didn't happen then there's nothing we can do in that case. When you have evidence you can bring it to us, we'll arrest Mrs Smith then. We're sorry for the misunderstanding" The policeman said and they all left.

Mrs Smith moved closer to Arya and burst into laughter. "You couldn't report me last time, what made you think you'd do that successfully this time? I'll make sure you leave this office today. I'll report this event to the headquarters and you'll be sacked, be grateful I'm not suing you" She whispered to Arya and left her.

" What are you all doing? You heard the policemen, I'm not guilty so go back to work unless you want a cut in a your salary" Mrs Smith threatened and they all scampered away.

"Wait! Everyone wait!" Arya yelled startling everyone.

"I'll resign. But first, I'll teach Mrs Smith a lesson" Arya declared and suddenly walked towards Mrs Smith, she dragged her back with her hair.

Mrs Smith screamed in pain. "Are you crazy! What do you think you're doing?"

" I'm the type to take law into my hands, reporting you to the police was just something I had to do. If I don't beat you up,I won't be satisfied....I already resigned so you're not my boss anymore. How dare you harass younger males? You're so disgusting" Arya said still holding her hair to the back, she pushed her away making her fall down to the floor.

Mrs Smith stood up and charged at Arya but Arya dodged her and made her fall again.

"Just give up already. You'll be caught next time,I assure you" Arya said to her face before going to pack her things.

She walked out with her things and didn't look back while everyone watched as she left.

Arya's phone chimed and she checked the message,it was from Katherine,her stepmother.

"You still remember the dates, right? Don't disappoint the Hills family"
