Fated Story System (paused)

______ Paused for the moment... Due to my need to edit my story... I have paused this story... And it might be paused for a bit until I can get a solid schedule made for myself... If you have miraculously found this story, I am 1) surprised, and 2) flabbergasted... since I have paused this one for like 2 months... But you can try and read it if you wish. It might be slightly bland and with some boring text... but after edits it should be better, flow better. Also the last chapter I uploaded I think I added a semi end for the moment, but its not going to be the actual end of the story... ______ What if you were to die in the next moment? What if death gave you a new chance as long as it was an interesting story? Join Lucras in his adventure with the system that's sole purpose is to make his life and story more….Interesting. And his journey to find out that the worlds outside aren’t so simple. __________________ This story is set in the cursed universe, where multiple other books tell tales of adventure. These books characters will interact with one another and it will be an neat experience seeing two different sides. Though you are not forced to read the others as these books are good all by themselves, not requiring information from another one of the books. Cover art by @etqtay on Instagram.

The Tree

Alexa finally spoke out in the silence, "Even if he can't use magic, we need to be there now to support him. Maybe he could go down dad's path."

Hazel coming out of her pity mind set realized that what her daughter said made sense. Excitedly, the mother and daughter pair decided to try and convince Lucras about this. They started to head upstairs and walked over to the door to Lucras's room. She was about to knock but decided to just peep her head into the door. As she looked in, she found Lucras with some tears still in his eyes, and seemed to be lost in his own little world.

Hazel seeing this decided to walk up to him and hug him. She decided at this moment that if he decided to follow down her husband's path then so be it. She originally was going to use the new path as a hope to get her son to be motivated to do something. Then she would try and persuade him to go on a safer path that would allow him to have a calmer life. But seeing how distressed her son had become over not being able to have a journey, she would allow him to do whatever he wanted. She couldn't stand seeing Lucras like this, his cheerful face being so sad.

Lucras felt a hug from behind, that filled his mind with warmth. He finally came out from his own little world, he realized that it was his mom was hugging him. Even though he knew this wasn't his original mother, he never really got to hug his biological mother, so maybe this was what it was like to be hugged by something close enough. Taking what he could get he soaked it in, the warmth of a parent and the calm he felt from it. He soaked it all in.

Taking the hug a little longer, he finally spoke calmly to his new mother, "Mom, why did you come up? I was about to go to sleep, and I am guessing you are not just here to hug me?"

"Oh nothing too much, I wanted to check on you… you know even without magic you can do some amazing things. Your father was a great bow user. In the war, he could pick out enemies 500 meters away. Shooting his bow across mountains! And to top it all off, he even created his own intent from his vast experience. He did all of this with a magical score that was like 15! Maybe he was higher than you but what does that matter. Maybe you could be an adventurer too? Who knows, then you could have a legendary adventure you had been talking about." Hazel replied trying to cheer up Lucras.

Lucras absorbed this information, his new father who was most likely dead or missing was a great adventurer without magic in this world. Which end seemed impossible in his currently mind set. But after a moment of thinking, he decided to ask "Can you really do great things without magic?"

Hazel found that her son was looking with shock and new hope in his eyes so she decided to spill what she new about magic. "Technically magic users use another type of energy to power their spells. It doesn't matter if you have a good magical score, you could have a low mana channeling. And maybe if you have a bad magical score, you might have an easy time channeling mana. The tower doesn't test for mana because you can always increase your mana channeling with some breathing techniques and the main limiting factor to a mage is their magical score."

Shocked by this new information, Lucras quickly asked, "Seriously, so what does it mean if I channel mana, also what's intent?"

Hazel, relieved to find her son becoming more excited by the moment, continued with a smile, "Channeling mana can make you stronger, while having a high magical score makes it easier to perform magic and make more complicated spells. As you learn to channel mana, you can make yourself stronger and better. Eventually you could be able to gain a better mana affinity that will allow you to access spells again."

She continued, "Intent is something when a weapons user connects with their weapons. They way they do that is they connect spiritually and the weapons connects to the law surrounding that weapon. At least that's what great weapon users tell people, which I couldn't personally verify, but the effects of intents are massive. The ability to slash space apart with a sword, letting your spear strike as fast as light, or your arrow to become like wind and flow towards your enemy. Your father could do some really neat tricks with his bow."

New life seemed to trick out of Lucras and he seemed like he had was being reborn. A new fire ignited in his eyes as he thought of a new adventure as a weapons user. Hazel, seeing that her son seemed to be doing better, decided to let him rest, and talk to him more in the morning.

Alexa who watched this from a distance was happy to see her big brother as excited as ever, 'If he is going to be a great weapon user, then I will be the great mage to support him in his adventures. And steal all the credit too 'cause I am the more awesome of us.'

As the mother and daughter left, Lucras felt amazing. He even felt the ghost inside of him feel the same. He decided to ask before going to sleep, 'Ava, can you add my mana and mana regeneration stat to the status and match it to an adult. Also is being a weapon user viable with your "interesting" story?'

As he laid down in bed, a screen popped up with Ava's explaining, [Being a weapon user was originally the goal, did you not think that I, the great Ava, could not tell your magical score. It was fun to see you cry, you cry baby. Such a small set back and you balled your eyes out, maybe you're not made for adventure.]

Firing back, Lucras replied, 'This coming from a soul that doesn't even have a body and is watching something through someone else's perspective. Creep.'

Shifting letters around , the screen showed, [Touché, also adding in those new stats] before switching to, [[Currently Generating Stats and Updating Status Screen]]

After dinging at him, Lucras looked at his stats, 'Status'.

'K, good night. Too much happened today so I am going to sleep before I deal with the shenanigans surrounding my mana' was the last thought Lucras had before falling fast asleep.

As he sleeps, in a faraway location, and inside of a golden barrier.

Sitting on top of a colossal tree sat a man in a white suit. He seemed to be able to see everywhere. He watched what happened recently and decided to spice things up a bit. How could Herbert, the god of the afterlife and reincarnation, have all the fun. He was the god of reality, or illusions, complete new worlds and rules crafted from his fantasies and interests.

Seeing something new and interesting was something he didn't see a lot. After seeing a soul move into this world through back channels, and a special soul at that, made him look into his past. He quickly became fascinated by the new story this little soul gave to him, so he decided to make things for Lucras, as Ava would put it "interesting".

Slowly he raised his hands, he slashed forward. As he slashed, the huge barrier broke, finally revealing the giant tree to the world. Large portions of mana poured out of the barrier into the world.

Then, slowly raises his hand, gold streams began to come out of his hands and fill the night sky. Slowly those golden streams made circles, with strange symbols in them. As the world was enveloped in this golden glow from the clouds, the man finally activated these circles and a new barrier was created that stretched around the world protecting it from what is to come.

He sighed and then started to create a new magic circle, one that seemed to be even more advanced than before. Seemingly able to bend space, and shift reality as multiple flickering images appeared inside the its disturbances. A slight strain could be seen on the man's face, as the circle vibrated in its creation. A minute passed before finally, the circle was completed. The man quickly released it, and allowed it started to absorb mana. The man looked relieved and decided to give an important message to every high power in the world.

>>In 4 years, those below 20 will be able to travel and fight for glory in a treasure realm. Any treasure in that realm will advance your planet or yourself tremendously. But to decide who gets access, there must be a fight, right? So in 3 years, 6 portals will open around your world where you must survive. Now may your fantasy become reality and have a good day <<

After speaking, he smiled widely, then returned to the tree, waiting to see the chaos he caused to bloom and the adventure he would see.

All the gods are now interested in this little story... Poor Herbert, he probaly wanted to be the only one...

You all have a nice day!

Also if you like it then vote... And I will continue to write...

If you have recommendations for making things even more crazy for the poor MC, then comment it and if I like it and it fits into the story, then I will add it.
