"Hmm," Sylvan Cheney looked satisfied. He particularly liked it when Jasmine Yale was obedient.

Of course, he also liked it when Jasmine was not obedient.

Like a little kitten, she squatted next to his leg, gentle and lovely.

"Are you leaving? I'll walk you out," Jasmine looked up at him.

His gaze stayed on her face, not moving away, burning like a steadfast adhesive.

"Anything else you need to tell me? Hmm?" Sylvan countered.

"By the time you return, my cooking may have improved."

Sylvan laughed and tousled her hair: "It's not like I was complaining."

"Sure you weren't, you barely ate anything at lunch today, clearly a complaint!" Jasmine mumbled under her breath.

That was pretty obvious.

"If your cooking doesn't taste good, I'm still here. If mine is good, that's enough." Sylvan pinched her cheek.

Jasmine turned to face him.

"I should get going now; Charles Mcintosh is waiting for me."

"I'll walk you out," Jasmine Yale got up.
