Let's get married

Chapter 3

Fighting the mate bond for the last seven days that she has been in the pack was something difficult to do no matter how much he tried it, but what Alpha Bryant didn't know was the fact that Nola was going through the same shit as him.

"Are you sure about this?" Aaron, his beta and best friend asked him after he told him he was going to ask Nola to marry him.

"I don't know if it's a good idea, but I can't hold it in anymore. It's giving me sleepless nights. Who knows, I might just be lucky," He replied to Aaron.

"Good luck then," Aaron said to him before he left for the garden where Nola was having fresh air.

He found her staring into space as he walked into the garden, and he felt his wolf crawl excitedly. He could feel the bond pulling him to her, her scent was the sweetest he has never felt before, and that alone was driving him nuts that he desperately wanted her. His wolf wanted her.

Nola must've felt his scent too because she turned sharply and her heart skipped when she saw him.

"A... Alpha," She stuttered, and swallowed the lump that formed in her throat, looking everywhere else except his face. Just like he was, she felt herself getting drawn to this man by the strong mate bond. This was the feeling she never had with Miguel, and it felt weird.

"Are you having a nice time?" He asked confidently, covering the distance between them and standing beside her while staring into space.

"Hmm," She nodded her head and managed to hum. Her heart pounded hard against her chest. Having him around her was uncomfortable, and being so close to her almost made her choke on her breath.

"Th... thank you for allowing me to stay here," She stuttered, her teeth finding their way to her bottom lip and biting into it afterward.

"Hmm," He nodded his head.

"You haven't told me how you ended up in the woods that night. Were you taking a walk and passed out there? None of your people have come looking for you," His curiosity kicked in, and he asked her, but he regretted asking her after she told him everything that happened. His blood was boiling in rage, his eyes were blazing with anger, and he felt a sting in his heart.

"Don't feel pity for me. I'm fine," She lied, forcing a smile, but it was written on her face that she wasn't fine. She was hurting inside and wanted nothing, but vengeance. She was given another chance by the moon goddess for a reason, and that was because she needed to get her revenge.

"I will help you get your revenge. I will give you wealth and power to fight for yourself..." Her eyes brightened up with excitement, and for the first time, she finally had the courage to look him in the eyes.

"Really?" She asked excitedly, and he slowly nodded his head, unsure if he should tell her the condition behind that.

"Let's get married, Nola," Her heart dropped when he said that, so she stepped away from him, disappointed.

"Let's get married. Dynamite Pack is the most influential pack in the history of werewolf, sharing a border with other known and powerful werewolf Packs across the country. We have the most powerful men, and when it comes to business, we have the most influenced company..." He paused and sighed briefly, thinking of how to say this to her so it won't seem like he was trying to use her because he wanted to help her, but no matter how he put it out to her, she would always get the wrong idea, anyway.

"Just imagine being the Luna of the Alpha of Dynamite Pack. Trust me, Nola. I'm not saying this to take advantage of you. It's because I really want to help you," His eyes conveyed nothing, but sincerity, but still, she couldn't bring herself to trust him. At least not after what Miguel did to her.

"Be my Luna, Nola. We can get along later and maybe plan our future together along the line if we are given a chance together. If you want to get your revenge, then you need to start planning now. You need power and wealth to do that," He tried to sound convincing, and she fell for it. He was right, after all.

"What do you stand to gain in this?" She was forced to ask after a long silence.

"I want to win your heart and live a happy life with you as my mate," Those are what he wanted to say to her because that was his intention for doing this, but he held the words back and just shrugged.

"You are my responsibility now, so I should help you. Besides, you need to take back what was taken from you. So, just see this as me helping you. You can return the favor later," He shrugged, and she thought about it for a while. This was a dangerous deal she was going to strike, but then, it was going to be a win-win situation for her.

Although she was scared of men now, she felt like giving this a chance, but there was no way she was going to entirely trust him the way she did with Miguel back then. There was no way she was ever going to trust anyone again.

"I will take that as a favor then. I will repay you in the future," She nodded her head after pondering over it for a few minutes, and that was the best news Alpha Bryant ever heard, because, at the moment, it felt like he just won a lottery. His wolf was more excited.

"Sure," He smiled at her for the first time, and her heart fluttered.

"I will start making the arrangement right away and let you know the progress later," He said to her, and she nodded her head.

She watched as he strode out of the garden, and she released the breath she'd been holding unknowingly, her heart pounding hard against her chest. She felt her wolf excited like never before. Getting married to Bryant in such a hurry although he was her mate was something she didn't dream of, but it was a fate she had to accept. This was the only way for her, anyway...
