Deep In The Oblivion

As Star and Bazett roam the city, they remain wary, half-expecting to encounter one of those giant golems again. However, they are still in the dark about what is happening in this city, Fuyuki. Bazett also have been trying to contact The Clock Tower again through the wired phone in the mansion and also her own cellphone but it appears there is just no signal here... Or something is blocking it... The duo doesn't really talk while they walk around, each keeping their own thoughts to themselves. As the clock nears 2 AM, they have yet to encounter anything out of the ordinary. There are no signs of the giants or any abnormalities... Then Star speaks with his usual amused attitude;

"I can see you're quite 'fond' of walking by now, but seriously, how much longer, Master?"

Bazett sighs and speaks; "I thought we would have already encountered one of those golems until now. But no... We don't have a single clue of what is going on in this city... Where is everyone? Who was that... lancers master? Where the other masters are anyways? I just have so many questions."

"Y'know so far we have probably walked everywhere possible in the city... Whatever we are looking for is clearly not here..."

Bazett nods in agreement, they have almost covered every inch of this city on foot by now;

"But I know where we should go for next..."

As Star says this, Bazett raises her brow interested in what he has got to say;

"How about we check out these lovely, uh, charming places that seem so inviting for a leisurely stroll milady?"

Bazett looks at where Star points at... The outskirts of Fuyuki. Star speaks again;

"Seriously, think about it... We've scoured the entire city chasing after one, single lead, and what do we have to show for it? Absolutely zilch. Nothing! You have also said that you saw one of those big 'goo shitters' when you first landed here right?"

"Yeah..."

"Which is practically located in a forest, the hangar, hello?!.. Just like how that lancer seemingly appeared out of thin air from the forest too... I think those two biggies we saw 2 days ago, was just luck... We didn't see any today did we?"

Bazett thinks to herself about Star's words, realizing there may be some truth to his suggestion, especially since they've come up empty-handed in the city. With only the outskirts remaining to explore, she nods in agreement and speaks to Star;

"You might be right..."

"I am always right, you just-"

Suddenly, a piercing screech, reminiscent of a young girl's voice, interrupts Star's sentence from a nearby backstreet. Bazett's senses snap into high alert, and she immediately dashes toward the source of the sound, mentally preparing herself for battle as she goes;

"W-Wait! UGH! Can I finish a sentence without being interrupted by some random shit for once?! Just Once!"

As Bazett makes her way to the source of the scream Star runs after her. But upon arrival, there was nothing to be found. Bazett's eyes scanned the dark backstreet in confusement;

"Can't you brighten this place up a bit?"

"Does it look like I am carrying a flash light or something?"

" *Sigh* Forget about it..."

Bazett starts to walk around the narrow backstreet while thinking to herself 'What was that noise about?..' Suddenly, her footsteps squelch on something wet, catching her attention. She takes a step back, then crouches down to get a closer look at the ground. With a gloved finger, she cautiously touches the liquid before rising to examine her fingertip closely;

"It's blood..."

She glances back at the blood where she had stepped;

 "Lots of it..."

As Bazett begins to toy with the small amount of blood on her fingertip, she notices that the blood on the ground and her hand starts to evaporate followed by a tremendous vibration that both Star and Bazett could feel. Bazett speaks at Star;

"Did you feel that?"

"An earthquake?.."

"No... It's too... Weak to be an earthquake..."

As the same vibration happens again, Bazett walks out of the backstreet as Star follows her silently. They returned to the main street, and there was still nothing visible to explain the vibrations they felt. As they continued walking to investigate, they spotted bright purple and red lights radiating from the outskirts of the city. Each time a massive beam of light appeared, the vibrations repeated. Bazett furrows her brow at what she is seeing, as Star speaks at her as he also too stares at the sight;

"Told you, I am always right..."

To Bazett just remains silent to as if she is encaptivated by the lights she is seeing;

"So are we going there, or not Master?"

"Don't talk like we have a choice... Whatever is going on in this damned place... The answer lies right there..."

"But... Just like I said, right? You'd do well to accept that fact already."

"Whatever... We are going there... Are you ready?"

"Should be asking that to yourself."

Star responds with his usual tone, to which Bazett throws a small chuckle at and speaks once more with a serious and determined tone;

"Then let's go."

Bazett feels a surge of excitement, hopeful that she may finally uncover some answers to the mysteries she's encountered in Fuyuki thus far. And so Bazett and her servant Star sprint toward the sources of light, bracing themselves for whatever awaits them on the outskirts of Fuyuki city...
