He woke up early with the sun still hiding in the clouds. Reluctantly, he took his brush and did justice to his teeth and they seemed to glow after that. Next, he took a long shower before finally appearing infront of the mirror.
This is Fex, a tall muscular boy with a broad chest and perfectly shaped legs in such a way that they seemed to be rather constructed than created. He had a gel red hair which only heaven knew where he inherited it from. He gave that hair of his a caress and droplets of water fell from it.
This is the world where Fex lived in, one where people were ignorant of the happenings in other worlds, a place where only modern physics existed and people seemed to forget about Max planck's wonderful works.
[Indeed, the writer of this book is inspired by advanced science in such a degree where fantasy becomes reality]
Normal things happen every day, some abnormal things are coated with scientific proof others are buried alive.
Right from the beginning of that day, Fex had already foresaw a boring day ahead of him, especially that he had to stay at home while everyone else enjoys at the park with Amy on her birthday.
A few minutes later, he was called for breakfast. Sitting with his fork and spoon and a napkin around his neck, he enjoyed the delicious pancakes. Only he was eating, everyone else was to eat while the fun was going on; the fun which he had to miss because of a certain someone.
He went back to his room to see the family walking down the street leaving him all alone. Dad had always been harsh on his punishments and always made sure that he'll never get away with any of them. Fex was sure that he had already told the neighbors to keep an eye on when Fex leaves the house.
There was nothing else to do but paint. His mind slowly drifted to a world of superpowers where everyone could do as they wish, where kids won't be left to the cruel fate of the adults. A lot more minutes had passed and the door bell chimed him back to reality.
'who could possibly be at the door?' he asked himself.
'go away', he wanted to say. He eventually picked up the courage to go downstairs and open the door.
"Leo?" Fex said, quite surprised.
Leo waved his hand back at him. Leo was a tall boy with green eyes and black hair that covered every skin on his hair. They seemed to be growing by the day.
"may I come in?"
"sure!"
Leo walked into the house and noticed how lonely it was. He turned to Fex again who was surprisingly still holding the door handle, "where is everyone?"
"At Amy's birthday party"
"then he what are you doing here?"
"was grounded", Fex explained.
"so, what should we do?" Fex asked.
Leo looked around to see if Fex was really telling the truth, "since your father's not around, where does he keep his brandy?"
Fex shook his head, "not gonna happen. You want me grounded for a month?"
Leo raised his shoulders, he really didn't care if that was to happen. He walked to a chair a toyed with the vase on it, "say, Fex. How was the maths quiz?"
"not good", Fex replied, "it's as if that man had prepared to make us fail!"
Leo sighed in irony, "well that a shame; I know what I wrote meaning I got a good grade".
Fex lowered his head in tiredness, as if Leo had always done this since he had known him. He always was a competitor on everything but he seemed to be finding luck wanting.
"This is not the end of the world, Leo", Fex reminded him. Leo said nothing - it was his way of making Fex realize that he had been beaten. Fex sought for something to say.
"so Leo. How was your 'candy blowout' in the martial arts club?" He put more emphasis on the words: candy blowout. Leo's head went bright red. A girl had taken him down last week in a spar.
"It was fine!" Leo defended, "I lost out of concentration"
"you lost because you were weak" Fex calmly protested.
"no I didn't!!"
Fex said nothing, Leo knew what this meant.
Leaping to his feet he walked to where Leo was standing, "How about I show you that I'm strong enough to kick your a**"
Fex smiled intuitively, he welcomed the challenge,
"I won't have it any other way"
