Chapter 47: Framed

"So the winner of this design competition is Oliannah Darke" the emcee announced

Lianne went up the stage to receive the award. As she was about to receive the award, a lady who participated in the competition stood up.

"I disagree to this result. This lady stole this design from my cousin" the lady accused.

"I'm sorry ma'am but do you have any evidence?" the emcee asked

"I'm Amanda. I don't have any evidence but I can prove it" the lady said

"how so Amanda?" the MC asked

"In two days time, let another competition be held. If she can produce another design that'll win against mine I'll accept defeat. If not, it simply means she cheated" Amanda said

"Oliannah, do you agree to this?" the MC asked

"Yes. However, you should think about the consequences of your actions" Lianne said the last part to Amanda.

Two days later, the final results of the competition came out.

"... The winner of this competition is Oliannah" the MC announced.

"I refuse and this time around, I have evidence" Amanda said

She brought out the original copy of the design Lianne had submitted and handed it over to the judged

"This is the original design that my cousin made, Oliannah plagiarized it and brought it to this competition. According to the rules of this competition, she should be put in jail" Amanda said

"That's a lie. I don't even know who your cousin is. I was the one who made that design. That's my original design" Lianne argued

However, no matter what she said, everyone refused to believe her. After all, all evidences pointed to her as the guilty. Amanda was about to speak again when Jordy entered into the hall with dozens of guards following him.

"I have evidence to prove Lianne's innocence" Jordy said

"Jordy I know you might be trying to protect Oliannah. However, the evidence is right in front of us. She was the one who plagiarized"

" I disagree. I saw Lianne sketch this exact design two days ago.

...Flashback...

Jordy walked into the room when he saw tons of papers littered around the room. Lianne threw one which landed directly in front of Jordy. He picked it up, unfolded it and walked towards where she was seated.

"You shouldn't throw away your sketches" Jordy said

"But there's a problem with it. The neckline is crooked" Lianne replied

"I know. But it isn't good for you to throw out all this sketches. They might come in handy in future" Jordy explained

...End of flashback... "

"Jordy even though you've explained it. There's no evidence to back up anything you're saying" Amanda said

Jordy snapped his fingers and one of the bodyguards played a video footage on the screen for everyone to see.

In the video, Amanda was collecting the sketch from a man. The man clearly stated that the sketch was stolen from Lianne's works.

Jordy ordered the guards to take Amanda away. However, before she was taken away, she grabbed a knife and attempted to stab Lianne. Jordy was quick enough to see it and he caught the knife in his palm

Lianne's eyes widened in shock. Jordy had just caught a knife in him hand just to save her. The bodyguards quickly took Amanda away.

Lianne and Jordy arrived at Jordy's house.

"Find out who sent her and ..." Jordy was saying to the head of the guards when he was pushed down on the seat and interrupted by Lianne.

"Get me the first aid kit" she told the guard who immediately brought it and left

"You don't have to worry. It's a small injury" Jordy assured

"It's not a small injury. Your palm is bruised. What were you even thinking? What if you got seriously hurt? You can't do it again in the future, okay?" Lianne asked sadly

"I'll gladly do it again as long as you're safe" Jordy said making Lianne eye him angrily and she pressed on his wound making him wince in pain.
