Date Me

We went to the border of El Fuego where a towering lighthouse stood. We stood near the long cliff, watching the wild waves rule the sea below. Apart from the plantation and neighboring lands, this part was my favorite place to visit.

The salty air is so damn refreshing, even the place is just naturally beautiful and tranquil. A place where you can feel comfort and peace. Indeed, nature will always be the most beautiful creation.

"Oh, beers." Carson distributed the canned beers. He brought the drinks. Kuya Sage is in charge of the food.

"This is yours," he said and handed me a carbonated drink.

We are sitting on the grass. Neri was next to me while Morris was on the other side of me. I don't know why he sat next to me. I don't want to be rude so I just remained on my position. Jesyl, on the other hand, is sitting beside him. Trying so hard to be noticed. But if it was answering earlier, now it doesn't really.

"Maddy," Neri whispered. "Morris seems to be annoyed by Jesyl's rudeness. Look, he's not talking anymore."

I sipped on my canned drink. The gaze stayed ahead, where the vast sea could be seen.

"Maybe Jesyl just isn't his type. And if that's the case, there's nothing I can do. We can't force him to get along well if he doesn't want to."

"How about me?" She pouted.

"I don't know."

"It's Maddy. It's very important to me, eh. Can't you just talk to him? Tell him, just fix the deal with Jesyl, that's all," he promised in a softer voice.

"You are his friend's brother. He won't say no, for sure. So help me. Please. Please. Please..."

I sighed. Did not speak and thought of a solution to the problem.

"Shut up Livius! Maybe you want me to push you over the cliff?"

"You're so harsh Hitler! You don't care at all! No woman can really stand your harshness. Look at me. Apart from being handsome, smart, strategic, nice to talk to, good in bed, I'm also a big--"

"Crazy!" Carson butt in and laughed.

"Look! I can't accept you as a cousin anymore!"

"You think I'll accept that you're a cousin too? No, no! You're a huge disgrace to the Martin clan!"

"You both look stupid," Kuya Sage said.

As agreed, it was late afternoon when we decided to go home. It was around five o'clock when we set sail back to the mansion. Just like before, we went with Morris. But until the trip it remained quiet. Jesyl is still being ignored so her face is frowning.

I don't know what's wrong with him. He's not that stiff when it comes to girls, I've seen it. But now it's like he's possessed by some bad element and is stuck for reasons I don't know.

I can't stop being annoyed because even Neri is affected.

"What's up?" Neri whispered when he arrived at our house. Their car is here so we went straight here.

"I don't know."

"Bye, Morris. Bye Maddy, Neri," Jesyl frowned. But Morris didn't even look at him. He's leaning on his car, eyes are on me. I felt uneasy. I looked away.

"Be careful, Jesyl." I waved curtly. But it was Neri who said goodbye. Until the end, she looked at me with pleading eyes. He really wants me to do something. That girl could really give me a headache.

The other boys went inside immediately. I stayed outside, in front of Morris. At a loss for what to say. But despite the hate, I need to do this for Neri. I'll just talk to him, so why not try? Maybe he will give me permission. It would be a great help for Neri, I'm sure.

"Why are you still here? It's cold. Go inside," he said.

I sighed. Just this time, I'll swallow my pride.

"I want to talk with you."

He raised an eyebrow.

"Come closer, then."

I pressed my hands together at my back as I stepped closer to him. Now we are only half a meter away from each other.

I bit my lower lip harshly before I spoke.

"What's wrong with Jesyl? Why are you ignoring her? Obviously, she likes you. I know you can feel it. You're not dumb."

He smirked. "But what should I do? She's not my type, Maddy. I don't like her."

"But I hope you at least fixed the deal with him. You were just too stiff. You didn't even answer." I tried to keep my voice down.

"Are you pushing me to your friend, huh?"

"All I'm saying is, take good care of that person. You won't suddenly get stuck for no reason."

"I don't like her. I can do whatever I want."

I hissed. "You're so unreasonable, Morris!"

"I'm not. I'm just realistic."

"Can't you at least do me a favor?" I asked desperately.

"What do you want me to do?"

"Please accompany him properly. Talk t

or her, make her believe that you're interested. That's all! I know you can do it. That's very easy!"

He folded his arms and did not speak immediately. He seems to be thinking whether he will agree to what I want to happen or not.

I heaved, suppressing my irritation.

Damn him and his arrogance! Besides being a womanizer, he's also arrogant! He must have thought that he was a very important person for me to beg him! Face thickness! I swear, after all of this, I'll treat him like before!

He doesn't deserve my goodness!

"What now? Are you willing to do it?" I asked impatiently. I don't want to waste time here.

"I will do."

I breathed a sigh of relief.

"But I need a payment for the service I'll be rendering."

"What?!"

"You heard me right, Maddy."

Is he fooling me? I thought it was okay but why ask for a replacement? What a bullshit! Just a little bit more and I will pour fire on him.

"How much? Do you still need my money? I know you have a lot of it!"

"Did I say I want your money?"

My forehead creased.

"Then what?"

Besides money, I can't think of anything else he could ask for. He has all the things in his hands! And he will get whatever the non-sufferer wants.

"Date me."
