Y/N, Are you a fan of him?

Lee Hyun felt like he was hearing things. Never in his dreams did the thought of Jin letting a newbie leave early when he was in a foul mood, cross his mind.

"M-May I ask what exactly happened?" asks Lee Hyun, unable to restrain his curiosity.

"The thing is.."

-Earlier-

Listening to Jin's constant bickering, You were feeling down thinking you might not be able to fulfil the promise you made with Madam Kim.

"I am sorry, Sir. I will write it a hundred times and submit it as soon as I finish." Dishearteningly, You voice taking the file.

 "Why a hundred times?" He asks with a raised brow.

 Widening your eyes, you exclaim, totally horrified "You want me to do more than that?"

Looking at your extravagant reaction for a moment, he turned his attention back to another file while making a simple remark "Just leave."

*Blink*

Stunned, You mutter "Leave?"

'Does he mean I can go home or go back to the office?'

Jin: "What? Didn't you say you wanted to leave early?"

"N-No, I mean Yeah...Can I? I mean why?" You had no idea what he was thinking.

"Do you want to stay then-"

"I am going...I am going! *Hastily strides towards the door* I am leaving." 

But As soon as you reach the door, You suddenly halt your steps. 

' What is this heavy feeling? I want to just leave as soon as possible, still can't help but feel like I am getting a privilege that I am not worthy of. Everyone is working so hard and here I am, excited to leave early on my first day.'

You start to overthink again, making you feel pathetic.

'No, This is wrong.'

Taking a deep breath, You turn around and just as you were about to state that you were gonna stay, You hear Jin's voice ringing in the quiet room.

"I promised you I would let you go early if you finish the report by six, which you did. Despite a few errors, you completed your work on time which showed how capable you are. You are leaving early because you finished your work and your boss ordered you so... There's no such thing as a privilege for anyone here. Keep that in mind."

His words not only reached your ears but ran through your body, reaching your mind, lifting off the heavy burden that was casting you over.

The thoughts flew as fast as they came by. He wasn't even looking at you. You couldn't help but stare at him. The dim setting sun radiating behind him made him look beautiful.

*Thump*

Maybe it was because you appreciated his words or he looked so handsome. Your heart skipped a beat.

"Thank you so much. I will remember what you said. Have a great evening, Boss." You bow and eventually leave with a smile.

"*Sigh* If you put it like that, It's not surprising. Boss never goes back on his words. So since you finished what he said, you are free to go. Congratulations, Miss Bae. You aren't aware but this is a big accomplishment that no one has ever got."

Lee Hyun states with a proud smile.

"Thank you, If it weren't for your help, I would've never completed it on time." 

Lee Hyun: "Haha, Is it? I was just doing what I had to as your supervisor. Aren't you getting late? You should hurry and leave."

"Oh Yeah-...Wait, How come you don't ask me why I am going so early?.. Now that I think of it, Big Boss also didn't say anything about it. Back in my previous place, I had to bring proof of my reasons before applying for early leave." 

You inquire with a frown.

"I have seen your abilities, so I know you are not such a person who would make false excuses to leave on her first day of work. So, there was no reason for me to ask you. Maybe the CEO feels the same. " He explains.

Hearing that, your heart flutters and your face radiates with a smile " I am really really glad, I have a superior like you, I hope you have a great evening, Sir."

Lee Hyun replied, "Yeah, you too."

-Kim Mansion-

"Woah, Everything here looks super fancy like some luxurious hotel. How come this kitchen is bigger than my whole apartment?.. I mean, practically, I shouldn't be comparing diamonds with a stone."

You sigh as you continue to admire the lavish kitchen.

"Y/N, Did you wait long? So sorry, the head chef ran into a problem, so he was late." Madam Kim exclaims, entering the kitchen with a bunch of chefs.

*Gasp*

"Chef Park Kwon-nim?" You let out a soft surprised gasp, as you look at the middle-aged man standing amid the crowd.

You weren't a fan of cooking but you liked watching cooking tv shows, which afterwards made you interested in learning it. The person you admire most in the TV shows, the renowned chef in Korea, was standing in front of you in flesh. How could you not be stunned?

"Y/N, Are you a fan of him?" Madam Kim could see your eyes sparkling like a twinkling star.

Nodding your head hastily, you voice in excitement "Yeah, I admire him and his skills. I got interested in cooking by watching him cook on TV. It's a huge honour to stand in front of someone like him. It feels so surreal." 

"Haha, Is that so? Then, Let me make your happiness double. You are going to be the assistant chef for Chef Park today for my son's birthday." Madam Kim beamed.

Hearing that, You instantly panic "What? H-How can I? I am just like a house chef, I shouldn't even be considered a chef...I am not a professional, I will just be a burden to him-"

"You said you were my fan and admired me?" Suddenly, Chef Park asks.

"Huh? Yeah, I am-"

He cuts you off again "Then, Working with me should be a dream. Why are you being so hesitant? Are you afraid that I might find you a nuisance if you make a mistake?"

You remain silent. 

"Mistakes aren't the problem, if you don't learn and improvise with it, then that will create the problem. If you don't want to work with me, say so right now, otherwise, I will love to leave." He speaks, his hand behind his back.

'Huh? Shouldn't it be? I will replace you? Why is he saying he will leave if I deny?'

Before you could say anything, he continued, "Madam Kim personally invited me to help you. Shouldn't you appreciate her efforts?"

You look at Madam Kim who was already staring at you with a warm gaze. You bit your lips.

'My overthinking...My insecurities...My past...Everything just tells me I can't do it. But, If I want to grow the hell up, I have to put a stop to them.'

Making up your mind, you bow deeply "I apologize for my rashness, I look forward to your guidance and I am grateful for this chance, I will do my best."

"Haha, That's the spirit. Everyone, Let's get to work. We have a lot of things to do in a short time. Let's do it, Fighting!!" He exclaims, his commanding voice ringing throughout the kitchen.

"Yes, Chef!!" You shout with everyone.

'Big Boss, Just you wait, You are going to have a taste of heaven today.' You chuckle at the thought of Jin enjoying his food.

*Achhoooo*

"Boss, Shall I increase the temperature a bit?" Lee Hyun asks, seeing Jin sneeze so loudly.

"No, I am fine. Have you informed Cha Yoona about what I said?" Jin takes out a tissue and rubs his nose.

Lee Hyun: "Yeah, Vice President Cha Yoona was too shocked to speak, She must be on cloud nine at the moment." 

"Have you gotten any information about 'him?' " 

The abrupt question made Lee Hyun flinch, but he still responds "We still haven't got in touch with him. They are trying their best to find him, but he is too tricky to leave traces. I have prepared this file of what they have found so far, but I guess, It will take more time to trace him at the moment."

"Leave the file and go." 

After Lee Hyun leaves, He doesn't take but the file, instead looks at the picture attached with the file. In the picture, a young man was sitting near a beach, holding a pomeranian dog, with a smile on his face.

"Let's see for how long you are going to hide."
