Chapter 20: Lin Luo’s First Appearance in Spirit Hall

Lin Luo was not about to back down. Why? Because he had nothing to fear.

He knew full well that if he refused to eat, the one to panic would be Qian Renxue, his dear mother. A little threat from her? As if that would work on the God King himself.

With a disdainful twist, Lin Luo kicked his legs like a young bull, then pushed off in a sprint-like crawl.

This brat's martial spirit better not turn out to be a bull! Qian Renxue's face twitched with surprise. Before she could react, she felt a gust of wind under her skirt.

She looked down in shock, pressing her legs together, as her mischievous son crawled at lightning speed right beneath her!

Qian Renxue whipped her head around, just in time to see Guang Ling Douluo, crouched and braced like a goalie ready to block, looking dead serious.

"Ya!" Lin Luo cried as Qian Renxue started closing in from behind. Without hesitation, he feigned left, tricking Guang Ling into lunging that way, then slipped right through his defenses!

Qian Renxue watched Guang Ling stumble onto the ground, stunned.

Great. Everyone here useless or what?

Qian Renxue was fuming. Not a single one of them can catch him?

Guang Ling Douluo, also stunned, looked up and asked, "Xue'er, who the heck is his father anyway? This kid is freakish…"

But Qian Renxue didn't have an answer—Lin Luo didn't *have* a father!

She never expected her own child would turn out to be this unbelievable.

As thoughts drifted to *maybe having another child with some guy to test for the same superpowers,* she pushed the fleeting joke aside and took off after Lin Luo again.

She was growing more and more anxious, especially when they passed through the Pope's Hall and found themselves on the edge of the outer plaza.

Seeing the rows upon rows of people on the training grounds, all engaged in soul master team battles, Qian Renxue panicked. The air was thick with spirit power and martial energy. The very thought of her baby being near all these weapons and abilities made her stomach churn. *What if Lin Luo got hurt?*

Ghost Douluo quickly pointed, "Over there! He's at the edge of the training field!"

"There already?"

Lin Luo looked around, taken aback by the sheer number of people here. The largest crowd he'd seen before was only in the inner plaza outside the Hall of Elders.

Just then, two white, slender legs blocked his path.

He looked up and saw a girl with short blonde hair.

The girl looked to be about ten years old, strikingly pretty, with an aura both pure and bewitching. From his vantage point, Lin Luo could even glimpse her pink underwear beneath her skirt.

"Wow…am I seeing things?"

The girl rubbed her eyes in surprise at the sight of the crawling infant.

"Where did this baby come from?" she wondered aloud, squatting gracefully as she studied Lin Luo with curiosity.

"Ya?" Lin Luo babbled, recognizing the girl but not quite placing her face.

"So cute!" the girl, Hu Liena, practically squealed, leaning in so far that Lin Luo got a glimpse down her collar.

Hmph, nothing compared to mom, he thought dismissively, losing interest and crawling forward.

However, his movement soon caught the attention of the people around him.

Another figure loomed up ahead—a tall teenager with fiery red hair, hands on hips, staring down at Lin Luo.

"Nana, you know this little guy?"

"No, no idea! I have no clue where he crawled in from."

Another voice chimed in as a nearby youth with silvery hair dismissed his martial spirit, looking intrigued. "Come to think of it, didn't the Spirit Hall hire hundreds of wet nurses recently? Think it was for him?"

"No way! You mean he's that kid?" Yan exclaimed, crouching down along with the others.

"Ya!" Annoyed at the roadblock, Lin Luo sat up and made a noise of displeasure. Move it already!

"Look at that baby bravado!" Xie Yue laughed, and Hu Liena's eyes sparkled with admiration. "He's honestly the cutest little thing I've ever seen."

"Let me hold you, please?" she cooed, reaching out with a gentle smile.

Lin Luo ignored her, turned his head, and slithered between the three of them as they squatted down. However, these three tagged along like starstruck fans, gazing at him with endless fascination.

C'mon, never seen a baby crawl before? Annoyed, he continued crawling alongside the sparring field.

He was quickly becoming a peculiar sight, gathering even more attention from the training spirit masters, many of whom were distracted enough to take hits from their opponents.

"Ouch!!" they yelped, falling off the platforms, still transfixed on this bizarre little traveler.

What are you all staring at, losers? Lin Luo thought to himself.

Everyone around him wore the same dazed expression, as if they'd never encountered a baby crawling in the Spirit Hall before. It wasn't that they hadn't seen babies; they'd just never seen one moving so confidently, straight through their training grounds, utterly nonchalant.

The murmurs grew as more people followed him at a respectful distance, and then one of the red-haired boys even began crawling beside him, mimicking his moves.

Idiot.

Ignoring him, Lin Luo crawled on, brushing off the onlookers, and soon made it to the training grounds. Here, hundreds of students halted their drills to gape, totally dumbfounded.

"What's everyone stopping for? Keep practicing!" snapped the instructor angrily.

But as he turned, he saw a baby crawling right past him.

"Holy—! What in the world is that?!" The instructor jumped in fright, eyes wide as saucers. [TL: LOL in caps. lol]
