Kidnapped?!

Before the cashier could say anything at all, nelphy dropped two gold drits on the cart, saying, "Keep the change."

"O-okay, coming right up!"

Since everything had been premade and prepackaged, the four Merc club sandwiches were retrieved from one of two vector seals. There was one for all the prepackaged merchandise and one exclusively for money. To access either seal, the cashier had to be wearing two wristbands, one synched to each vector seal. This made all food sales even faster than their limited drink selection and offered far more security to both merchandise and profits.

Nelphy happily took the four Mercs with a grateful head bow.

But the moment she entered the crowded gap between the cart and the stands, Nelphy was baffled to have a hand cover her mouth with a strange item. Her wrists were also snatched at the same time and a thin, metallic band was wrapped around them.
