CHAPTER 10: Genuine Knowledge

Zero's Point Of View

I was walking around the town to see what was the state of all the villagers. Upon moving in this town we ask Grandpa Martin the village chief if we can build a house at a vacant lot in the village. He is the old man we talked yesterday and because of me beating those noble lackeys he let us do what we want. "Good Morning Zero, So you wake up this early in the morning". Grandpa Martin greeted me. "Gramps! Good Morning". I greet him back. "What were you doing strolling around town?". He asked as he smile. "Well, I was just checking out the state of living the villagers has". I replied at him with honesty."Then, what did you found out?". He asked with interest. "I found out that, since this is a Port Town you live throughout the year with the means of aquatic resources for fishing and that's a very bad situation and the farmland go into waste".I frankly says. "Why is that?". He curiously asked. "Well, think that you catch fishes everyday not knowing their gender, If then you caught several male at a time those female fishes left behind cannot reproduce anymore fishes by themselves rapidly decreasing their population". I explain that made him realize some important details. " You have a very good point,So what were you going to do now after knowing them". He says s a clue to give advice. " It was good if you would also cultivate your farm for a month leaving your fishing jobs and let the fishes reproduce at that time then fish for the next month for a bountiful catch". I said that made him smile because of the advice I gave him. "For a young man like you to come up with that recommendation, you're quite knowledgeable of agricultural living". He smoothly praises me. "Well, it's a matter of preferred interest I guess". I said so casually. "That's true, since interest of something keeps one's desire to achieve far greater than that of their predecessors". He qouted like a phenomenal occurence several times in the past. "So I would like to excuse myself because I have someone to teach". I said as I excuse myself in the process. "Then see you sometime". He said as I walked away from him and take my leave.

Coming home seeing the three of them. As they were whispering to each other. Merleona and Kitsune then left the two of us alone with a smile on their faces that has some sort of meaning. The boys has changed his tattered clothes. With his gloomy gaze he faced me. His name is Eugene that's what he said. "So are you ready?". I asked with him nodding. "Yes I am ready". He determinedly says. "Then, before starting, where did you get that sword?". I asked him directly. "This is a family heirloom passed down from our Ancestor". He said to me. "Then did your family said anything about him?". I asked again. " Well they said that our great grandfather was seen being descended from the sky being found unconscious. He was a Fallen they said, after regaining his conciousness he said thing like Japan, Edo Period, like those and then he became a very respectable person upon defeating the Demon King that time". He said that made my suspicions clear. "So he came from another world so that's what you want to say?". I asked to him. "Yes that's it so can you teach me how to use a sword already". He desperately says but I flicked my finger into his forehead. "Ahhww". He reacted. "Don't be hasty, well then we will work with your speed and reflexes so tie this cloth in your forehead". I said and give him a long white straight cloth and he tie it up. "I knoe that I need to be fast and flexible but is it nessesary to wear this?". She said but I flick at her forehead again. "Listen here, I need you to run as fast as you can while not letting that cloth to touch the very ground in the process for 10 minutes". I explain to him. "Ehh? But-". I cut his another predicament. " It's a part of your training and it's just the first phase it works as a distraction because in every fight there will be a multiple distracting objects and circumstances that will get in your way". I said to him and then he started to run around the yard but then he screamed. "What was that?". She said and kept running. "Oh, I forget to tell that I cast several earth bullets in this area so be careful". I said as I sat at a huge rock in the middle of the yard. "Ehhh!!! Are you seriously trying to kill me?!!!". He shouted at me. "Hey, don't be like that its to improve your reflex remember so by dodging them you'll probably get better, I think?". I said so unsurely that made him lose speed. "You think? You're not sure?!!!". He exclaimed as she gradually loses focus. "Hey the clothwill gonna touch the ground run faster, You only got 8 minutes left". I casually said to him as he run fast dodging some earth bullets but then 10 minutes passed with him heavily breathing to his hardest. Then, he immediately demanded for him being so sweaty and exhausted. "Well didn't you want to learn". I said to him. "B-But making me run for that long even though I am just beginning to study". He claimed as if it was my fault. "That's just a backlash for doing it for the first time but if you do it everytime you won't even notice it". I said. "Even if you say that, it's still so much for me to take". He said then, tried to walk as I was infront of him he lost his balance accidentally kissing me in a process and revealing his long hair. But I just let our lips be connected for a moment then a voice says. "Geez,Zero really did make her worked hard". Merleona said. "And then, harrasing her as she is a helpless girl". Kitsune teased that made me confused. "She, Her, Girl? Don't tell me-". I confused but then they nodded. He or She is a trap. "But I thought Eugene is a boy but then-". I said so honestly. But then they cut my words. "YES, SHE is a GIRL".
