Chapter 65 : Guild War

"Phantom Guild!"

Natsu immediately spun around, unable to suppress the anger building on his face.

"Nate, are you serious?"

"Look at these iron bars. Do they look like any magic you've seen before?" Nate reminded him.

Though Natsu could be dense, he wasn't a fool.

With Nate's hint, he quickly remembered the previous meeting.

He had even fought Gajeel back then!

"Iron Dragon Slayer, Gajeel!"

Natsu clenched his fists, flames of fury igniting. "Let's go, Knight! There's no way I'm letting this slide!"

"Wait, Natsu! Knight!"

Seeing the two preparing for immediate revenge, Mirajane hurriedly tried to stop them.

"I understand how you feel, but the Council doesn't allow armed conflicts between guilds..."

"Mira, if you don't fight back when someone strikes first, are you even a man?"

Nate gave a faint smile, then struck the air with his right fist.

Boom!

In an instant, the atmosphere seemed to crack, as if the sky itself had shattered. Magnolia trembled slightly.

The river's waters surged, splashing and soaking the legs of pedestrians nearby.

"What...what was that?"

"What happened?"

"The sky is breaking apart!"

Countless citizens stared upward, shocked and terrified.

At the entrance of the guild, everyone stood frozen, astonished by the scene.

"If you want to go, follow me. Eye for an eye, blood for blood!" Nate withdrew his magic and started to walk away.

Natsu, without hesitation, followed him.

"Two hot-headed idiots," Gray muttered, grinning as he subconsciously removed his shirt and rushed to catch up.

"A real man fights when it's time!" Elfman raised his fist in the air. "Sis, don't stop us! Anyone who wants to go, come on! Follow Knight's lead!"

"Oh!"

"Count me in!"

"Women should stay behind; this fight belongs to us men!"

The men of the guild—Makao, Wakaba, Loke, Marcus, and others—were riled up by Knight's stance, joining the crusade.

"Elfman..." Mirajane called out, but her words couldn't stop him.

Lucy, still confused by the sudden escalation, asked Mirajane nervously, "What should we do?"

Mirajane quickly opened the magic network. "I'll tell the master. Everyone, let's head to the guild's first-floor warehouse and wait. Stay calm!"

Levy, after a moment of hesitation, turned to her two teammates. "We can't let the guys hog all the action! Shadow Gear, let's go!" she said through gritted teeth.

"Levy!" Mirajane was shocked. Even the girls were getting fired up?

Lucy blinked, unsure of herself. "I... I'm going too!"

"Lucy..."

Mirajane now had a headache, silently praying for the master to intervene soon.

If things kept going like this, it would escalate into a full-on war between guilds!

In Magnolia's eastern forest, there was a small wooden cabin hidden deep within the trees.

This was the home of Porlyusica, a healer skilled in magic, who lived in seclusion.

Normally calm, she was now pointing angrily at Makarov's nose.

"That Knight from your guild!?"

"The brat fought near here two nights ago and destroyed a big chunk of the forest!"

"Are you even listening, Makarov?!"

"And this... this is why I hate humans!"

Makarov was in a daze when he suddenly sneezed.

Boom!

At the same time, there was a loud explosion in the sky outside.

Both Porlyusica and Makarov froze.

"It... it wasn't me! My sneeze doesn't cause that much destruction..." Makarov hastily explained. Turning to the window, his expression turned serious.

The sky was cracked.

"This magic power... it's him!"

Porlyusica immediately recognized the culprit. "That brat again! You lot are going to tear down Magnolia at this rate!"

Just then, Makarov's communication ring lit up.

He had a bad feeling.

Opening the message, he saw it was from Mirajane.

After reading it, he was utterly stunned.

"Natsu, Gray, Elfman... and Knight!?"

He had thought Knight was a good kid—level-headed. But now, a group of them was charging to attack Phantom?

That bastard Joseph!

Makarov's magic surged for a moment, shattering the wooden door behind him.

"You..."

Porlyusica was furious at seeing her home damaged, but calmed when she noticed the severity on Makarov's face.

"What happened? Actually, don't tell me—I don't even want to know. Just go!"

"I'm sorry, I'll have someone clean up the forest later. Right now, I have more urgent matters."

With that, Makarov turned and left.

His guild's children were heading into danger. As guild master, he had to go. Who else would stand against Joseph?

Ogu City, home to Phantom Lord, was several hours from Magnolia.

Fairy Tail's enraged members weren't about to sit around and wait for the magic train.

So, they went straight to the magic four-wheeler shop and rented several cars.

"Nate, aren't you coming?" Gray called out from one of the vehicles, ready to start.

"I've got a magic two-wheeler at home. I'll ride that—it's faster, and your car's already full."

"Got it! We'll meet in Ogu City!"

Gray nodded, starting the vehicle and joining the others in speeding away.

Watching them leave, Nate headed back to his place, jumping onto his obsidian magic bike, which cost a cool 4.2 million J.

Expensive for a reason—it was fast.

As he revved the engine, he suddenly remembered something. He quickly sent a message to Laxus.

Sigma Man: [The guild was attacked by Phantom.]

A few moments later, Laxus replied.

Laxus: [What? What's going on?]

Sigma Man: [We're going to take down Phantom now. If you're late, you'll miss out.]

Laxus: [I'll be there! Leave Joseph to me!!]

Though he didn't have all the details, Laxus never missed an opportunity to take down Phantom.

Nate figured Laxus would drop everything and rush over.

Starting his bike, he headed slowly toward Ogu City.

"Who else is missing?" Nate thought for a moment. Who else was S-Class?

Gildarts—away.

Mest—lone wolf.

Mirajane—not ready for fighting.

Erza!

Nate suddenly realized he hadn't seen Erza.

"Nate."

He heard her voice just as she stepped out of a nearby magic armor shop.

She held a newly repaired set of armor.

"Erza, what are you doing?"

"The armor you damaged last time just got fixed today."

Erza smiled, then asked, confused, "The magic power that just shook the sky—that was you, right? What happened? Did the Oración Seis return?"

Nate turned his bike, made a smooth U-turn, and stopped beside her, gesturing to the back seat.

"Get on. We're going to get revenge on Phantom."

"Wait, what?"

Erza blinked, confused.

"Less talk, more action. Get on!"
