Chapter 63 : Weekly sorcerer

The Weekly sorcerer magazine was eager to make its debut on the Internet, which was a perfect opportunity for Knight. He was ready for a productive conversation.

It was around nine o'clock in the morning when a young man wearing a pink T-shirt and carrying a magic camera appeared at the doors of the Fairy Tail guild.

"Finally here! Fairy Tail! Cool~~!"

The blond reporter was brimming with excitement as he entered, immediately searching for his interview target. His eyes darted around the tavern in anticipation.

"It's the demon Mirajane! Cool~~!" he shouted, spotting her at once.

Mirajane, who was busy carrying a tray of drinks, smiled when she saw him.

"Mr. Jason, still the same as ever, I see."

"Cool~~!" Jason exclaimed, practically bouncing in place. He raised his camera impatiently. "Ms. Mira, can I take a few photos? The next issue of the weekly will—"

"It's you!"

An angry voice suddenly interrupted him.

Jason turned to see Natsu and became even more excited than when he saw Mirajane.

"Natsu! The real Fire Dragon Natsu! Amazing! So cool~~!" He was so excited he bit his tongue and stumbled over his words.

Natsu, however, was not amused. "You're the one who always writes bad things about me!"

"Yes! That's me!" Jason said with pride.

"You always write about what I destroyed, and what I destroyed, and what I destroyed!" Natsu's voice rose, flames beginning to flicker in his throat.

Without warning, Natsu threw a punch.

Bang! Jason spun 3,600 degrees from the impact, his face swelling almost immediately.

"It's the Fire Dragon's Iron Fist! Cool~~!" Jason exclaimed, still giddy despite being punched.

Mirajane nervously wiped her forehead. "Are you okay, Mr. Jason?"

Nate, watching from nearby, came over and squatted next to the reporter, patting his face. "Still alive?"

Jason, lying on the floor with a blissful grin, suddenly opened his eyes wide. "Hello! I'm Jason!"

"And I'm Knight," Nate replied with a smirk.

Jason's eyes widened even more. "Y-you... you're the Knight? The pioneer of the Internet! Cool~~!"

Jason scrambled to his feet and quickly extended his hand. "Can we shake hands?"

Knight hesitated for a moment, feeling this reporter might be a bit too enthusiastic, but he still shook hands with him.

"Cool~~!" Jason spun in place again, gushing, "I've met the Lord of the Magic Network! I won't wash this hand for a week!"

Knight, unimpressed, muttered, "No, seriously, you should wash it."

Jason then refocused on the matter at hand. "I heard your magazine wants to go online?" Knight asked.

"That's right!" Jason nodded vigorously. "This is a special interview for that moment! Internet magazine, cool~~!"

"Hold your excitement for a second," Knight replied. He scanned the room and saw that Lucy's table was mostly empty, so he led Jason over.

Lucy was sitting alone in a corner, browsing the forum on her device. When she saw Nate approaching with someone, she looked up curiously.

"Nate, who is this?"

"A reporter from Weekly sorcerer," Nate replied.

"sorcerer?!" Lucy's eyes widened in surprise.

The magazine was famous—she used to ask Mrs. Speight to buy it for her every week. It was through sorcerer that she first learned about Fairy Tail and the stunning Mirajane, who often appeared as a model in its pages.

Lucy's heart raced. Will they interview me?

She started imagining herself on the cover, maybe even becoming a celebrity. What if my father sees me in the magazine?

"Hello, I'm Lucy, a new member of Fairy Tail," she introduced herself, trying to sound composed.

"Oh," Jason said, barely glancing at her before turning his full attention back to Knight. "So, Mr. Knight, can you help the magazine go online? We're willing to offer full compensation!"

Lucy, feeling ignored, froze in shock. That's it? she thought. Is this all my reputation amounts to?

She sat down beside Nate, sulking as Jason bombarded him with questions.

Nate, suppressing a smile, reached out and patted Lucy's head. "She's a newcomer, just like me. She's a Celestial Spirit Wizard."

"Celestial Spirit Wizard? Cool~~!" Jason's eyes lit up again. "I'm Jason, a reporter for Weekly Sosara!"

Lucy blushed, suddenly feeling more self-conscious, and nodded gently. "Hello."

Jason, now fully in reporter mode, leaned forward eagerly. "Celestial Wizards make contracts with celestial spirits and summon them for battle, right? Which ones have you—" He stopped himself mid-sentence, shaking his head. "No, no, the magazine is more important right now. Focus, Jason!"

Nate raised an eyebrow. This reporter sure had a one-track mind.

"All right, back to business," Knight said. "Your magazine wants to go online, which can definitely be done. But there are a few things we need to discuss."

Jason nodded rapidly. "Please, go ahead!"

"I can help you develop a section similar to the Magic Network Forum. We'll call it 'Weekly Sosara,' and you'll have the ability to manage and edit the content however you like. But are you planning to make it free for readers?"

Jason was taken aback. "We can charge for it?"

"That's up to you," Knight replied, "but I'll be introducing a new feature soon—Magic Network Express."

Knight explained the details of this new service, which would allow physical items like magazines to be delivered using magic.

Jason trembled with excitement. "Cool~~! So people can pay through the Internet, and we deliver magazines with magic?"

Knight nodded. "Exactly. Small items like magazines won't require much magic power. The deep network's current reserves can easily handle it."

Jason hastily wrote down notes but Knight warned, "Using the express delivery feature isn't free. Each delivery will cost points. If you don't have enough, you can buy points with J-Coins."

"I understand!" Jason jotted down every word.

The two discussed the remaining details and eventually reached a preliminary agreement. Knight was pleased with sorcerer becoming the first major user of the new Magic Web Express service. He knew that once others saw the convenience of this online shopping model, it would create a buzz.

As more people began using the Internet, Knight's true goal—harvesting magic power—would take another step forward.
