"How did you see through my transformation magic?" The short masked man suddenly transformed into a stunning woman in the blink of an eye. His voice shifted mid-sentence from a rough, masculine tone to the sultry, smooth voice of a queen.
Seeing that her disguise had failed, Ultear dropped her pretense. Knight's sharp words left her with little desire to continue the charade.
"I have a friend who's quite skilled in transformation magic," Knight replied, eyeing her calmly.
Ultear stood tall, her form striking. She wore a white kimono with a very short hem, almost like a mini-skirt, showing off her long, smooth legs. A light yellow belt, tied into a bow, accentuated her waist. Her right arm was sleeveless, revealing her delicate, pale skin. Around her neck, a brown collar added a final touch of elegance.
Ultear sifted through Knight's words. "A friend? You mean... 'Demon' Mirajane?" She raised an eyebrow, referring to the famed Fairy Tail wizard known for her expertise in transformation magic.
Knight gave a slight nod. "Well, more or less."
Ultear wasn't convinced. Placing a hand on her hip, she smirked. "Brother, you're not very good at lying, are you?" Her gaze then shifted toward his eyes. "It's not the transformation magic. You've got some kind of eye magic that lets you see through disguises, don't you?"
Knight chuckled softly. "Well-informed, as expected from a Councilor."
Indeed, it was thanks to Knight's Six Eyes, a powerful magic that allowed him to see through illusions and the flow of magical energy. From his perspective, Ultear's magical power was immense, even greater than Erza's current level.
"What are you doing here?" Ultear asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Just taking a stroll," Knight replied casually.
She didn't believe his nonchalant answer but didn't press further. Instead, she walked over to Deliora, the demon frozen in the ice, and touched the cold surface. Her voice softened as she spoke to herself.
"Ten years ago, this demon wreaked havoc across the North, leaving destruction in its wake. But thanks to a wizard named Uru, it was sealed away. She gave her life to do so. And now, someone on this island is trying to undo that seal... I came to investigate."
Knight listened quietly, already knowing her true purpose but played along. "Well then, I'll leave you to it. Goodbye."
As he turned to leave, Ultear rolled her eyes in frustration. She hadn't expected this. Normally, when she gave such information, people cooperated. Together, they'd stop the ritual, save the villagers, and maybe form an alliance. But this man...
"Wait," she called after him.
Knight paused but didn't turn around.
"If you want to lift the curse over this island, you need to destroy the Moon Drip Ceremony that's happening at the top of the temple. Otherwise, the evil will keep returning. I think we should join forces."
Knight raised an eyebrow, glancing over his shoulder. "Who said anything about destroying the ritual?"
"Isn't that the whole point? Don't you want to complete the mission and save the villagers?" Ultear asked, genuinely puzzled.
Knight shrugged, his voice casual. "I could just wait for the ice to melt, then punch Deliora to death."
Ultear stared in disbelief as Knight flew off, leaving her stunned. "What kind of logic is that?" she muttered, dumbfounded. "And why does it sound so… reasonable?"
Not willing to lose the opportunity to engage with him, Ultear quickly ran after him.
...
Meanwhile, Laxus wandered through the forest, his brow furrowing as the dense trees made everything look the same. "Am I lost?" he muttered, annoyed.
Suddenly, a giant rat-like creature blocked his path. Without hesitation, Laxus raised his hand. "Move," he ordered as a bolt of lightning shot from his body, striking the creature dead-on.
"AAARGHHH!" The rat screeched in pain, its cry echoing through the forest.
...
At the top of the temple, a group of cult-like figures in black cloaks gathered on a wide platform, chanting as they worshipped the moon. Near them stood four figures without cloaks—three men and one woman.
The young woman among them perked up at the sound of the distant scream. "That was Angelica!" she exclaimed, recognizing the cry of her pet.
"Intruders?" The leader, Leon, frowned. "You three, go deal with them. It's probably another Fairy Tail wizard."
His frustration was clear. Ever since the last time when Knight shattered the sky with a single punch, they had kept a close eye on Fairy Tail.
"Yes, sir!" The three subordinates sprang into action and ran off.
Moments later, footsteps echoed from the temple entrance.
"Already back?" Leon turned, expecting his underlings. But instead, he saw a man and a woman. His eyes widened in shock.
"Who are you?! How did you get up here?" he demanded.
"Good evening," Knight greeted him politely, surveying the ritual. Satisfied that the ceremony was proceeding smoothly, he nodded. "Looks like Laxus hasn't found this place yet."
Leon's eyes narrowed as he recognized the woman standing beside Knight. "You're… Councilor Ultear!"
Ultear, one of the Ten Councilors who governed the magical world, was well-known even outside the Council. As a public figure, she occasionally appeared in magazines, so Leon immediately recognized her.
"You're conducting the Moon Drip Ceremony…" Ultear said, playing her role convincingly. "You're actually trying to revive Deliora!"
"Shut up," Knight cut in, rolling his eyes. He then turned to Leon, pointing at the group of black-robed cultists. "They're performing the ritual. Why are you just standing there?"
Leon blinked, utterly confused. "What…?"
Knight sighed, exasperated. "If you're going to do something, at least join in. Go worship too—it'll speed up the ice melting."
Leon: "???"
His mind went blank. What was this man talking about?
Seeing Leon's hesitation, Knight moved quickly, closing the distance between them in an instant. Before Leon could react, Knight grabbed the back of his head and slammed him into the ground.
"What?! Teleportation?" Leon gasped. He hadn't seen Knight move at all.
Even Ultear was shocked. "Space magic?"
Knight, keeping Leon pinned, calmly explained, "Relax, I'm not here to stop your ceremony. In fact, I'm here to supervise it. Call me Knight the Supervisor."
Leon's brain struggled to process what was happening. Who was this man, and why was he acting like this? Were they not from the Council after all?
