Chapter 93: Levy's Woes
~Third POV~
[September 20, X784]
The next came as everyone in the guild was preparing for the interview today except for Silva knowing the disaster waiting to happen decided to be productive helping one of his collogues out.
In the morning Silva managed to invite Levy to talk about some issues weighing on her mind about the recent events of Gajeel joining the Guild with Jet and Droy in the guild doing the interview unaware of Levy's meeting with Silva.
*Thud*
Entering through the door entered Levy inside with Silva opening the door to his room clean along with his Magic Books he obtained from the Tower shown in the background as he greeted her with a warm welcome, "Glad to see you could make it Levy. I didn't think you would come today. I would've thought you try to get into Sorcerer Weekly like a certain Celestial Spirit Caster?"
Levy getting the message laughed lightly as she sat down on one of the open chairs of his table replying in a soft tone, "Haha… yeah. Lulu seems to be quite busy trying to get a page about her in Sorcerer Weekly. Me though? Not so much. Although it does make me curious about something with you though…"
Raising an eyebrow at her question Silva responded with curiosity in his tone, "Really? What's this something that makes you curious?"
She then questions Silva in a curious tone about his disinterest in wanting to be interviewed by the reporter who works for Sorcerer Weekly, "I mean the guild is expecting an interview today I think you would be interested in Sorcerer Weekly? Most new members are anyway so why not?"
To her question, Silva replied as he began to explain disinterested in that mess occurring in the Guild, "Nah. That whole popularity stuff isn't my thing and why would I want to be famous? According to Mira and Erza, it seems more like an annoyance than a benefit. Sure, you get paid more but I don't see myself wanting to be put through the effort of trying."
Levy just shrugged accepting his response as Silva asked her for a drink in a casual tone, "By the way thirsty? Tea, soda, milk, coffee, or water?"
Levy replied with a light chuckle in the calming atmosphere responding to the drink offer, "Ha… I'll take some coffee. You know there is still time to do the interview with the Guild and I bet mister reporter would be interested in your answers considering you and Erza are becoming the topic in Fiore?"
Pouring some coffee and adding the milk Silva replied somewhat confused at her words, "What? That's news to me."
Giving her coffee with milk Levy accepted it as she explained the events that occurred with Sorcerer Magazine explaining the King of Fiore rewarding Erza and Silva for stopping not once but twice against two of the 10 Saint Wizards turning rogue on both accounts.
Silva sitting down leaning on his chair responded back with a shrug too casual with the news but surprise evident in his voice, "Really? Huh, go figure. Didn't expect the King to give the news like that but if it calms the people and publicity for the Magical World. Meh."
Levy raised an eyebrow at how Silva just casually ignored big developments but shook her head wondering why she came here in the first place in a curious tone, "Anyway is there any reason why you called me here? Does it have something to do with the Mana Method Manual again? Or is it another unknown Magic Book to study like the stack over there?"
Shaking his head Silva decided to be direct with her causing Levy to flinch at his words making her shake slightly at a certain new member in the Guild, "There is a reason why I called you here. I wanted to ask are you fine? I mean Gajeel entered the guild, and you shook like a leaf near the guy I wanted to know if you were really, okay?"
Levy for her part felt conflicted about the whole ordeal.
She usually says she's fine, but her appearance doesn't match her wording.
Levy's heart was twisting around and around in her chest. Her frown showed when she recalled Gajeel entering the guild building tension in her body.
She had ingrained his features into memory, every distinctive feature as well as actions before finally truthfully voicing out her inner conflict trusting him with his judgement, "He attacked me. Hurt me. Made me terrified, at that moment. But he wanted to do good, now. Become a member of the Guild… I just don't know how to truly accept it… Should I just accept it like that?"
Silva closed his eyes recalling his fight with Juvia and decided to explain that Juvia's experience with people could change if given the chance, "I'll be frank it's ultimately up to you to decide. I can't tell you how you feel about the guy or change it on the fly. But from what Master told me and the circumstances with Juvia pleading to let him join is morally the right call. After all every person can change if given a second chance. For example, Juvia despite being former enemies, was willing to change giving her all to convince us to join our Guild."
Levy listened intently to Silva's words using Juvia as an example of how she was willing to help Erza's nightmares against Jellal leaving to the last stand for her to defend Natsu, Gray, and Happy unconscious bodies determined to the very end if needing to use her life.
Levy was shocked listening to how Juvia was willing to go that far to be accepted as Silva continued with a light chuckle finishing his tale, "However, it never came to that before Erza and I came in. But the point is Juvia was willing to help her former enemies wanting to join and change her ways. If she's vouching for Gajeel then he must be ready to be accepted despite our member's struggles to accept that because of prior conflicts. I trusted Juvia's judgment as I trusted her to protect my friends. That's more than enough for me to trust Gajeel."
Her eyes widened at his words but then he continued that he had a similar problem to Levy's situation with Gajeel in a calm tone, "Albeit at first, I was in the same position in your shoes, Levy. I didn't know how to feel about him with merely anger but I know I can't be blinded by my bigotry views on him for one action…"
Taking a moment to pause Silva closed his eyes before reopening them with a sense of realization he had soul-searching his answer in a calm tone, "So I took some time to think how I should handle my opinion of the man that hurt my friends. I thought and thought and thought some more before finally coming to an answer. If I can't trust Gajeel I can't trust Juvia someone who I come to respect as a friend who put her life on the line to protect my friends who were in need. If she says that he wants to do good, then I'll place my trust in her words and wait to see the man's actions for myself."
Finally, Silva voices out his issues with Gajeel before giving Levy an answer that makes her contemplate with a smile on his face, "Levy you are a good person. Kindness and forgiveness are your best traits. The fact that you are afraid of him isn't a choice you have made, and if Gajeel truly wishes to turn over a new leaf if he understands that. And if not, you could always come to me to teach that bully a lesson."
Levy felt much better about discussing her issues and having someone to notice her fears by directly talking it out with Silva who has the same issues as her about Gajeel.
She began talking to Silva in a calmer mood feeling a bit better and having someone listening to her out about her situation, "Maybe I will if he does try something. You know Silva I didn't know what to think when you called me over but after having this talk, I feel a bit better listening to your words. It might not stop me from fearing him a bit, but I feel at ease having someone listen to my problems."
Silva felt glad he helped Levy with the issues she had been dealing with since Gajeel appeared as he made a comment that might help her, "In that case, you could always you know… use your Solid Script to write 'CARRIAGE' to cause him motion sickness like Natsu. That seems to be a common weakness every Dragon Slayer has."
Her eyes widen at the words opening her mouth and then closing it but opens it again muttering in a surprised tone, "Wait… that actually works?!"
He gave a curt nod making Levy surprised about that fact.
*Knock*
*Knock*
Hearing a knock over the door an annoying voice could be heard causing Silva to flinch recognizing the voice, "SO COOOOL!!! So, this is where the famous Silva Knights live near your apartment!"
Listening to Lucy's voice on the other side Silva cursed her immediately selling her out mentally thinking to himself, 'Of course she would use me as a scapegoat for this reporter. The last kind of guy I want to associate with.'
Sighing deeply Silva figured if he was going to avoid questioning, he might as well get it over with in a flash opening the door in an annoyed tone, "Get over you're questioning then get out."
Revealing to be Jason is a relatively short young man with blond hair that sticks up in the middle. He wears a pink t-shirt, blue jeans, brown shoes, and black sunglasses. He carries a white satchel with him and a black camera as well.
Listening to his words he immediately began with the questions asked to every member of the Fairy Tail Wizards interviews in a happy tone, "What is the best quality of Fairy Tail? What is your future dream? With whom do you have the best relationship with? What was the most difficult job you ever taken?"
As quickly as Jason spoke Silva paused a bit before finally answering 3 of the questions while making the second one no comment, "I think Fairy Tail's best quality is the bonds they have with each other. No comment. I think the Gray, Ur, Erza, Juvia, Lucy, Mirajane, Elfman, and Levy. The most difficult job would be the Phantom Lord Guild Master fight where I've been pushed to my limits."
Jason merely nodded as Lucy tried to get his attention only to be ignored causing her to cry out trying to get invited, "Oh come on! It wasn't bad enough that the Guild managed to spread bad rumors and promised to meet you only to be denied!! Why is life so unfair…"
Silva merely laughed mentally at Lucy trying to get Sorcerer Weekly invitation to her just desserts, 'Hahaha!!! Karma's a bitch Lucy!'
Grunting in frustration seeing Lucy genuinely crying over with Levy looking out from the side couldn't help but ask, "Everything okay there Lulu?"
Lucy looked over to where Levy was pouting in distress as Silva sighed gesturing for her to enter recovering from the emotional damage, "Sigh… want to come inside? Any drink to put past your distress?"
She merely nodded as Silva entertained Lucy's depression of being rejected while enjoying small talks with the two to pass the time. Although the two girls were curious about what his goals were he kept it to himself of what his goals are to himself about the future…
