I brake the water's surface, gasping for air as an explosion of a magnitude of colors paints the black sky. My eyes burn, and my throat produces a scream of relief as my legs kick to stay above water.
Air.
I suck in a deep breath.
A glowing orb of fire followed by a loud siren from a distant submarine rings in the night air. The sound is frightening, monstrous.
I'm suddenly submerged.
Panic.
I go under the black waters again only to come up gasping for air and riding a wave, the seas making me choke for oxygen. A distant part of my brain would never have thought I'd be in this situation—ever—a flash a lightning streaks across the sky, mixing with this madness. Raine and Thetis blew up half their subs, and now we are pulling back, and my power from Raine has run out. I helped Raine, this time using his power correctly, and safely with his help. But with the explosion, we were separated underwater.
Like an underwater tornado.
