"Do you want me to take another approach?"

Ashton looked up, his expression unreadable for a brief moment. Then, he nodded curtly.

"No, just reject the request. Tell them I have no reason to help. They've been relying on petty tricks all along, and now someone's outmaneuvering them at their own game. It's almost amusing that they would ask me to handle someone who hasn't even awakened."

"But he's a psychic," Maya interjected. It's common knowledge that psychics don't go through awakening.

"No, he's not. He's completely ordinary mortal. But there's something different about his soul," Ashton continued, reclining on the couch and covering his red eyes with his hand.
