CHAPTER 152: I Only Need One Chance To Kill You!

Necromancers were few and far between in the beginning, as evidenced by the number of archmages who specialised in necromancy. This was why Necromancy Magic attracted so much attention when it actually appeared.

Han Shuo had only escaped from this area when he activated the Demonic Ninth Heaven Art. He hesitated when this development occurred and decided to move across the roofs of the nearby houses to get back to where he'd started.

The dark creatures that the necromancer had summoned from the other dimension had a great effect on the soldiers who tried to follow Lucky. The giant Hate Warriors and Gargoyles flying in formation were particularly destructive.

The giant and incredibly powerful Hate Warriors were capable of turning a soldier into meat paste with a single swing of their iron club, while the agile Gargoyles were equally deadly as they swooped down with their iron claws.

"Damn it, I'll kill him myself!" Clark roared angrily, whipping his battle steed into action. A spear appeared in his hand as he charged at the Necromancer.

Thanks to the coordination of the galloping battlesteed and the sweeping spear, none of the skeletal and zombie warriors stood in his way. The knights used the charging power of their battlesteeds to increase their own fighting power. So when Clark and the battlesteed attacked as one, the scattered dark creatures couldn't stop him.

Due to the appearance of an Archmage-level Necromancer at this time, the soldiers on the side were busy fending off the summoned creatures and couldn't help Clark. Senior Knight Calvert stayed where he was, busily directing his troops. As these highly trained soldiers finally calmed down to fight the summoned creatures, rows and rows of skeletal and zombie warriors began to fall.

Though the Archmage Necromancer's mental strength was colossal, the number of creatures he summoned couldn't compete with the number of soldiers here. The ghouls and skeletal warriors, in particular, were of limited use in such a situation, and were often destroyed by a single stab from a Gryphon Legion soldier.

However, the giant Hate Warriors and Gargoyles that howled through the darkness were still quite fierce and had killed many soldiers in the blink of an eye. It was a pity that there were only five Hate Warriors and six or seven Gargoyles. More than ten Gryphon Legion soldiers also surrounded each hate warrior.

Another low chant came from the necromancer's mouth as two fallen hate warriors suddenly exploded violently. The two Corpse Explosion spells instantly caused scores of Gryphon Legion soldiers to die with agonising howls.

As the Necromancer opened his mouth to chant the next spell, Clark, on the back of a battle steed, had already charged in front of him. The spear in his hand suddenly flared with a milky white aura, and Clark was catapulted into the air by the momentum of the spear. He shot towards the Necromancer, who was suspended in mid-air like a bolt of lightning.

An enormous white skeleton materialised in the air, forming a shield of white bone with astonishing speed. The white bone shield was three metres high and two metres wide, completely blocking the Necromancer's path. The clean, eerily glistening white bones left no gaps between them as they came together. Some of the sharp bone shards were even in front of the shield as inverted spikes. The shape looked very strange.

Clark's concentrated blow struck the white bone shield. Even a shield as advanced as this one began to splinter from Clark's violent thrust, with bone shards flying haphazardly where Clark's spear had struck.

The Necromancer grunted softly and floated away like a ghost in retreat. It looked as if he too had realised that Clark was going to be a tough opponent and wanted to put some distance between them. Clark's body moved forward with the momentum of his charge as he landed on a rooftop, putting down his spear and replacing it with a sword. He moved quickly across the rooftops, taking aim at the Necromancer.

Another dark mist was released as the retreating necromancer's body flashed through it and vanished without a trace. Three bone spears came flying through the empty air, aimed straight at Clark. After the three bone spears had appeared, Clark finally pinpointed the necromancer's location.

At the same time, Han Shuo's sharp eyes caught a slight movement from a piece of protruding rock on one of the rooftops that Clark was moving towards. This made Han Shuo's heart jump and his body abruptly half crouched to hide on another roof.

The Demonslayer Edge had silently approached Clark as Han Shuo had wished.

Coldly snorting, Clark didn't stop his momentum as he suddenly changed direction halfway, the longsword in his hand suddenly flicking upwards and slicing through the bone spear he hadn't dodged. At this point, Clark's body was finally approaching the protruding boulder when a shaft of cold light suddenly shot out of the rock-like structure and Lucky, wrapped in a grey robe, appeared.

Clark hadn't expected an ambush, having just deflected the Necromancer's bone spear. His combat aura was half-way through contracting as he raised his sword to block the blow. A metallic clang rang through the night as Clark's body was flung from the roof.

As Clark descended, a heavy whistling sounded as a thin strand of purple flame appeared in the air, rammed into Clark's back and sank into his waist, disappearing into Clark's body.

A terrible scream came from Clark's mouth. As his body slammed into the ground, his entire body was engulfed in purple flames. Han Shuo's sinister figure flew in front of Clark, coldly watching Clark suffer as the purple flames consumed him. He sent out a mental summons and the Demonslayer's Edge exploded from Clark's chest and vanished into Han Shuo's palm without a drop of blood.

"It's, it's you?" The spirit of extreme cold invaded Clark's organs and his body had been severely damaged by the Demonslayer Edge. Seeing Han Shuo reveal himself and pull off his mask, Clark struggled to spit out the words as his teeth chattered in disbelief.

"That's right, it's me. You tried and failed to kill me twice, but I only needed one chance to kill you." Han Shuo said coldly and waved his right hand wildly, slowly circulating the 'Glacial Mystical Spellfire'. A flower of red flame entered Clark's body. His internal organs had been frozen, and Clark was about to die when the flame thawed him into a bloody puddle. The speed of the change was incredible.

Three bone spears appeared out of nowhere again and targeted Han Shuo. Their whistling sounds startled Han Shuo as he leapt up and slashed down with his DemonSlayer's Edge, destroying one of the bone spears. Han Shuo shouted to Lucky in the distance, "Damn it, why is he attacking me as well?"

"I don't know him." Lucky replied, dodging like lightning, for the Necromancer had attacked Lucky as well.

So it wasn't one of their people. Han Shuo was surprised and fled outside. When the necromancer saw Han Shuo flee, he actually came after Han Shuo and pursued him relentlessly. The Necromancer's appearance was a bit strange. He wasn't on Lawrence's side, and this confused Han Shuo greatly, making him unsure of which side he belonged to.

Now that Clark was dead, Han Shuo saw that Lucky had made himself invisible again and was sneaking towards Calvert. It looked like he was planning to take care of Calvert as well. As for his colleague, Han Shuo didn't know anything about him, only that he was targeting Han Shuo. Han Shuo didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but he did know that he didn't want to get further entangled by him as he fled for his life at top speed.

When Han Shuo was a few hundred metres from the Calvert house, his amazing vision picked up Lawrence's carriage in the distance. Overjoyed, he quickly headed in that direction as the necromancer following Han Shuo summoned a few gargoyles to follow him. It was only when Han Shuo appeared beside the carriage that the necromancer and his gargoyles abruptly retreated.

"Bryan, what's going on? There was no signal from you, but things are chaotic over there." Lawrence immediately poked his head out of the carriage when he saw Han Shuo and anxiously asked for an update.

"Don't mention it. Things have been really strange tonight. Lucky and I don't know what happened as our movements were mysteriously revealed to Clark and we were almost captured. An Archmage-level Necromancer suddenly appeared and attacked Clark and them, and then attacked us. I have no idea what's going on." Han Shuo complained.

"Then what happened to Uncle Lucky, and is Clark dead?" Lawrence asked again.

"Mister Lucky is on his way to Calvert and seemed to want to take him out as well. Mm, Clark is finished, you don't need to worry about him." Han Shuo replied.

Lawrence couldn't hide the joy in his face as he laughed with satisfaction, "Dead, he's dead! Valen City will be in chaos now!"
