"Hector..." Lyndis gritted her teeth as they were just too late coming up after. The second time she was too late to save someone from such brutal actions. "...that girl... looks dead.." She muttered out despite herself. "Father!"
Hassar was just a few feet from Hector when he was stopped by Dart with a counterstrike once more.
"Your boss looks as if he is torturing her! How can you stand by and let that happen!?" Lyndis' eyes turned steely as she gripped her sword. Thinking if she moved fast enough she could save the girl and dash off as fast as possible in the process to get a healer. 'I... can do it! Just need to be.. precise!'
"Let happen?" Dart gave them a quizzical look. "If the Boss wants to rip out a dragon from another person.. I am not going to stop that. Besides, couldn't stop him if I tried at this stage. Not that I want to mind you."
*Thump!* Hector threw the body of Ninian towards Hassar with as much regard as he did with Nils beforehand. This dragon was quite bigger than Nils dragon and took more to restrain. In fact, every trace of magic Hector recovered so far was used to do so.
"Grrrr!" Struggling to subdue the beast he gave up on that. "So be it!" With a death grip and his muscles bulging to the max, Hector grabbed the dragon by the jaws and forced its mouth apart.
*Crack!* The jaw of the dragon was spread wide as it was ripped in two. The effects of Mulagir thrummed in his body. The other body parts had even been used yet to make weapons so Hector just stored this one away in the Internal Space. The same as before.
However Hector found some improvement taking place after Reaping a bit of the Dragon, his overall Hp and Res gain an increase just like when he took the power away from Mulagir. The moment the Dragon was gone, Ninian came to, unlike her brother.
Having only a little time to understand her current situation, the former half-dragon felt the presence of Hector very quickly. The danger sense she and her brother both shared did not need to work to inform her of the danger of a man who ripped something from her very being.
Anger flashed at the fact he took the item Nini's Grace and deprived it of the magic inside. The ring was returned and looked new but no longer had the power it had before. The keepsake of her mother lost that special quality it had before.
"Well now, has your mother returned yet?" Hector asked Lyndis. She looked away instead of answering him. "I see. Hassar, has your wife sent word yet?" The Lorca chieftain did not answer either.
A frown came over the Champion's face now. For people whose ancestors fought against Dragon's and were reduced in vast numbers because of the war, they were very mindful of them to be safe.
"How could you?" Nils looked up with rage in his eyes. Staring with venom at Hector that almost manifested itself in the form of magic. "How could you do that to us!? What gave you the right to do so!?"
"Easily done to make the decision, you were a lingering threat. So I dealt with it as I saw fit. Just because you two halfbreeds came through the "Gate" with less power doesn't mean you won't cause trouble if someone were to take control of you at some point. Should have stayed on the other side of the Dragon Gate. Your kind has learned nothing from the Scouring it seems."
"What do you know of the Scouring?" Ninian doubted he was there during that time all those centuries ago of course. The magic around him was old but only that... old. "You knew what we were but that does not mean we come with bad intent."
"True but I didn't care to take that chance." Hector gave a smirk as the sister was able to talk and get out of her emotions quickly. "I could have killed you but I didn't. Still can do the first option if that brother of yours does not fix his attitude. You came through for answers on your parents and past, I can provide those."
"I wouldn't trust him after what he did!" Nils raged.
"Dragons have to die.. or be forced into submission. The first part is just better for me and my goals." Hector could feel Tiamat stir inside happily at the admission. As long as he kept that stance all would be good business why. "Your father has gone mad due to magic and grief. Over your dumb dead mother. It must be something the Ice Dragons do since another one got herself sealed up over her human lover back during the war. Haaa, it is a little sad how Bern is to this day."
"To be sealed.. that sounds awful." Ninian felt petty for his words, even if they were not true.
"Maybe. It was a dick move of the King of Bern but who cares? Well, some care but the humans back then and the dragon beefed really badly on all matters. Well besides the one place where they are coexisting in the desert."
"I could scarcely believe that is true." Hassar couldn't imagine a place where such a thing could be taking place in this day and age. The fact he like others did not believe the Dragons existed after even seeing two of them recently. "Humans and dragons coexisting..."
"Your father is a man named Nergal who has completely forgotten you even exist." Hector said sternly getting the attention of the two. "The weak-hearted man has been on a course to destroy Elibe with the use of Dragons and Dark Magic of the highest order... he might just do so."
"How will he use the Dragons if they are not here?"
"Duno." Hector gave a shrug. He honestly only remembers the dragon summoning blah blah attack and killing everyone or something. "Not like he will be able to succeed easily anyway. Lots of people to fight against the Black Fang and let us not forget the people in Nabata Desert. They two have enough power to contend with a nation."
*Woosh!* A powerful wind circled the area as someone walked out of the shadows. The man was grisly and ancient looking by all standards of the definition. His long robes dragged on the ground as he took steps with the help of a staff.
"Your information is quite extensive.. Hector of Ostia."
"Tch!" Hector scoffed as he drew his weapon ready for a match. Dart immediately did the same. "As I live in breath, one of the useless Legendary Heroes. What do we owe this displeasure?"
"One of the Legendary Heroes?" Eliwood looked the man over and could admit to himself there was something about the man. But for him to be one of the Legendary heroes.. that was to much.
"Both himself and the "thing" that is Bramimond still exist. But the other is well.. not really a person but a possession of magic close to running amok. Something that Nergal is actually turning into actually now that I think about it." Gripping his axe tighter he wondered if he could move fast enough to cut the man's head off. But that was too risky. "Have we done enough to make you get involved in cleaning up your mistake?"
"We?" Dart understood he meant the forces under him but they haven't done much as far as he knew so far. "Boss.. if this guy is really a Legendary Hero shouldn't we... I don't know, play nice?"
"No, Athos and those like him are disconnected and can not be of any help." Hector's eyes narrowed as he saw a little magic stir around the Arch Sage. "Which is fine since their outdated views are just that of fools and eyesores."
It didn't take long for most to understand that Hector had hatred for the man. They just didn't understand why that was the case considering it looked to be the first time the two met.
"More rash than Roland, a pity we could not talk this out." Athos looked to Nils and Ninian. "I do not know how he knows what he knows but I can say you both bare a striking look to Nergal of old. I would like to take you to Arcadia actually and show you where he stayed for a while. We may even be able to find something that may help you."
"I don't know." Ninian looked at her brother who was deep in thought. She turned to Hector who looked poised to strike the man down. "Will you keep us away from him?"
"Humph!" Hector scoffed as in the end, he would have to pay a visit to Arcadia to wipe out the Dragons there hiding. So he would see them again eventually as he Conquerors the Dimension. "You are no threat to me, child... just like your father and mother won't be soon."
"Our mother is alive!" Ninian shouted staring at Hector. "Where is she!?" She demanded to know.
"Hmmm, what do I get from telling you?" Hector still did not drop his guard in the least. He was waiting for the others to make it here to even the odds out more. 'Damn it, Karel, you should be here by now!'
Dart took a silent deep breath as his blood thrummed.
"From what I understood from Nergal she did not make it. But then again he said she was taken away by bad men." Athos frowned at the thought of it. "Maybe that is what pushed him in his research."
Before the situation could push forward, Hector and Athos felt the presence of powerful magic outside. Magic that rivaled that of Athos but fluctuated powerfully.
"Tch! They have come!" Hector dashed off with Dart following behind. He pulled out some Pure Water for them both to use. Using Vuleneries as they moved to heal any small injury as well. "Use this and get ready for the fight of your life!"
He ignored the calling of the others while moving. Sending multiple magical messages to his people to be on alert for a dangerous magic wielder.
At full speed, it did not take long for the two to make it outside. The Pegasus Riders were throwing Javelins at a cloaked figure. Karel was engaging the figure in close combat with a sword drenched in Pure Water.
"You insects... should perish!" Audamorze was annoyed he couldn't land a single hit on them. Enough javelins were thrown he was forced to take evasive maneuvers. "Begone!"
Which a push of magic that sent the next wave of Javelins out back at their owners, the powerful magic user opened up a Tome. The immediate weight of the magic caused the area to shake.
"Dammit!" Karel felt as if his bones would break at any minute. He was so close when the magic came out, it was a wonder he was even alive right now. "Damn you!"
*Brrppp!* Karel raised his sword up pushing the pressure of magic away with the sheer force of will. He put all his strength into one strike to use against the mage. The sword slashed out with every ounce of strength within the Myrmidon.
"Grrr!" Audamorze moved back just in time as the sword strike cut against his clothing instead of his chest. "You will pay for that!" Landing a few feet back, he fired a blast of magic at the down sword user.
"Back off bone breath!" Hector leaped in front of the blast taking it dead on. "Oompf!" The damage was mitigated greatly by the Pure Water and his high Resistance from training multiple Classes of magic. 'That still stings!'
Seeing another to contend with coming up behind, the leader of the Ashbone Clan cut his losses.
"You will not be so lucky next time..." In a flash of light, he was gone in an instant.
"He got away!" Dart shouted annoyed. He didn't even get the chance to act at all. "Boss.." Looking at Hector, he took note of the pale look he had. Following his eyes, he noticed Karel. "oh... man..."
Karel was barely awake and bleeding from every orifice possible. The look on the man's face would have made anyone believe he was in a fight with an army.
"Kuff! I never expected such a monster to show up." Karel spat out blood and what looked to be bone chunks coming out of his mouth. "I.. don't think this is good..." Spotting fresh blood dripping out of Hector, the Swordsman became alarmed for the other. "...for either of us.."
*Shine!* Hector transferred his life energies to the other using Nosferatu in reverse. He didn't have the magic concentration to use Mend and the Clerics were tending to the others who took a bad beating.
Hector looked at him grimly then extended his hand out shaking like a leaf. Karel was wrapped up in magic and then pulled into the Primordial Sea. The Pegasus Riders and Dart recoiled in fear at the sight.
"The Goddess Tiamat will take care of him... do not worry!" Hector growled out forcefully. His face was a twist of agony and regret at the miscalculation. Was worse, he had several injured Pegasus Riders. "He was so close... and I couldn't do anything to deal a fair blow before it was to late!"
As people scrambled to recover from the situation, the bad news did not stop there. A member of the spy network delivered a message that caused Hector to frown even more than before.
"The results of pushing none stop have bit me in the ass!" Those he sent to investigate the Dread Isle had been injured. Those moving in Bern had been injured, and the few in Pherae had gone missing. "Tomorrow... what will you bring me?"
