Soren remained silent in response. However, the moment he attempted to stab Xander again, Xander had already vanished from his previous location. Witnessing his disappearance, Soren's lips curled into a sneer. Without further words, he swung his blade to his right.
As if guided by an unseen cue, the blade struck a solid object. A splatter of blood painted the small island shortly after. Soon enough, Xander's lifeless form descended to the ground.
Soren's actions didn't halt there. He approached the fallen body, separating the head from its form with a swift motion. He then stabbed the sword on the island and held its hilt with both of his hands.
Indeed, he possessed a method to exit any situation, matrix or illusion. All he needed to do was to terminate the life of a comrade. It was a ruthless approach, but it guaranteed his own survival.
Naturally, his life is more important than anything else.
