Scorching

Demyan

I desperately held my phone between my shoulder and ear as I scooped Ethan up in my arms, surprised at how he felt scorching hot. "Ethan," I shook him gently as I hurried out of the bedroom. His body was limp in my arms but he grunted in his response which meant he was not too far gone. "Just stay with me okay, I'm taking you to the hospital just hold on."

"Uh," his lips parted to release the fainted murmur. I had to blink away my tears as I rushed down the stairs hoping Uncle Damien would just pick up the phone.

"Demyan? Is everything alright?" he finally did! His voice raspy from sleep.

"Uncle Damien, Ethan is sick. He has a high fever. I have to take him to the hospital. Do you mind watching over the children or taking them with you? My security is watching over them for a few minutes," I spoke rapidly and for a second I feared he had not heard me.
