'We Belong Together, Baby'

Ethan

It took me a second to open my eyes after I had woken up. My brain felt hazy and foggy as if I had had a massive hangover but not quite. My body ached in ways I had not felt in years that I let out a groan in slight pain. Not even the gym wore me out that way.

I covered my face with my hands as I desperately tried to moisten my lips. The first thing I saw was the white ceiling of my bedroom. Something I saw every morning that did not even seem special anymore. My alarm clock was blaring next to me but I quickly shut it off with a press of a button.

I let out a sigh wondering what I was even going to do on my day off. My brothers were busy with our extended family and my parents had taken the opportunity to go to Italy to visit Dad's family. It meant I would have to distract myself with something outside of work for a moment.
