As Mira was hopping from tree to tree, she spotted the group with a weird atmosphere around them. She felt interested and decided to see what's going on.
And as usual, Kakashi was reading his book. Though, Sakura seemed to be preventing Naruto from following Sasuke.
"Mm, teamwork hasn't been good lately." Kakashi muttered. Though Mira heard it.
Mira sat on the bench of the tree, she wanted to see how things were unfolding. After a good meal of ramen, who wouldn't want to see something entertaining after that?
"That's right! That's right!" Naruto exclaimed. "Sasuke, you're the reason our teamwork has been poor! You're always attracting attention!"
"That's you, you idiot." Sasuke replied before stopping and turning around. "If you don't want to owe me big time, you just need to become stronger than me."
Mira nearly laughed out loud, but she managed to cover her mouth in time to muffle the sound. She couldn't believe her cousin was like this, seriously, this was a bit embarrassing considering Sasuke isn't that ahead of Naruto.
Mira jumped off the branch and sneaked her way next to Kakashi without the other three knowing. Kakashi already knew she was coming since he detected her presence.
"Kakashi, what's going on?" Mira asked with curiosity laced in her tone. "Did they have a big argument or something?"
"No, we went on a mission earlier and..." Kakashi replied as he looked up from his book. "Sasuke saved Naruto from trouble earlier and now they're like this."
Mira chuckled and said, "This village is just starting to get more interesting. Though, how long are they going to go at it? Their teamwork won't improve anytime soon if it's like this."
"Yep, I'll think of something later." Kakashi said as he put away his book. "We should disperse now. I need to submit a report about this mission."
"Alright then, Kakashi. I'll see you when I see you. Until then, don't die!" Mira said with a wide innocent smile.
Kakashi stared at Mira blankly. "Also, a jonin and another shinobi will soon contact you. They'll be your teammates."
Mira sighed. "Here I was hoping I could be by myself, but I guess not."
"Huh?! Mira?! You're here!" Naruto exclaimed. "Since when?"
"I've been here since you started bickering with Sasuke. Seriously, why do you two argue so much despite being a team?" Mira asked.
"That's because this idiot keeps causing unnecessary trouble. Tsk, annoying." Sasuke said with hostility.
Naruto was about to say something back but Mira stopped him.
"Calm down you two. If you never get along, you'll never be able to do harder missions meaning you'll never rank higher." Mira said.
Instantly, the two shut up. Kakashi sighed at his students and felt like he was going to have to do a test soon. The Hokage definitely wouldn't be happy with the way things are progressing.
"Anyway, why don't the rest of you go home and rest or you can practice. I'll be leaving now." Kakashi said as he disappeared.
Mira smiled at the three and asked, "Well, what will the rest of you be doing?"
"Eh...I'll get some ramen!" Naruto happily cheered before leaving. Though Mira easily saw through him, he wanted to get away from Sasuke as fast as possible.
Mira looked at Sasuke and asked, "Well? Aren't you going home now?"
Sasuke frowned. He was thinking about going home, but then Mira suddenly showed up. Sasuke knew Mira was stronger than him, that was why he was able to say this.
"I was going to go home until you showed up." Sasuke replied.
Mira raised an eyebrow and slightly tilted her head in confusion.
"Fight me."
Mira had to pinch herself to make sure she wasn't dreaming. When the pain stopped and she was still right where she was with Sasuke's serious look in front of her. She realized this was actually real life.
"Sasuke, do you really wish to fight me?"
"I do."
"It worries me that you say it so confidently. You only just unlocked your Sharingan, do you really think you could defeat me?"
"I never said I could defeat you. All I want is to fight you, after all, you're stronger than me. And for me to become even stronger, I have to learn."
Mira smiled at Sasuke, despite his ego and emo self. It seems he was still sane and rational. Therefore, Mira gave in.
"Alright, we'll have a light spar, but don't expect too much since I'm a bit tired today. But use all the abilities you can."
"You don't need to tell me that."
"Wait Sasuke!" Sakura called out. "Are you going to leave me here?"
Sasuke cringed and said, "Of course I am. In terms of abilities, even Naruto is ahead of you. If you have time to chase me, learn some Jutsu."
Mira wasn't surprised with Sasuke's response, after all, all Sasuke wanted to do was become strong in this arc. Things like love weren't in his vision at all nor was it in Mira's. Everything in this world was about getting stronger after all.
Together, they made their way towards an empty and open playground where they could freely move. Mira knew Sasuke's skills were good, but they weren't above average either. Only with his Sharingan activated is when he would have an advantage over someone who used the same abilities.
Mira mentally smiled, it was time to show how large the gap between her and Sasuke was. She reached behind her back and pulled the mask Shisui made for her.
This left Sasuke confused.
"Why are you wearing that?"
"It lets me concentrate better."
Sasuke got into his stance as Mira did the same. This was an exciting moment for Mira, she's always wanted to test Sasuke's full strength before "Shippuden"
She wanted to know if Sasuke had brought out his full potential or if something was holding him back. Finally, she was able to find out right now.
"Then, shall we start?"
"Let's go."
