Rejection

"No! Wait, what? Why 'no'?!" 

Nitya asked with confusion, giving a completely blank look for a few seconds. It was then that she realised that Surbhi and Ho-jin were talking about the solution she had come up with, for what had happened at the party last night. 'Now she had to figure out a plan or yet, the better option was that she could just deny the fact...but- oh! Wait! She legitimately didn't remember what had happened at the party, then why was she panicking? She needed to ask and find out the actual details first. Gulping and bracing herself for the answer, she looked back at Ho-jin, totally forgetting about the second voice she had heard earlier. She was trying with all her might to recollect even a tint of memory; making calculations about how much she must have spilled last night. She flinched involuntarily before even saying the question out loud, imagining if she had said anything serious, and how badly she must have gotten rejected!'

"Ho-jin, can you please elaborate on the details about everything that happened after I gave my gifts to Chang Min Hyung?  I can't seem to remember what happened after that clearly, or you can say that I can't remember anything at all- oh wait, I do remember one thing, that I drank a very weird lemonade last night, whatever that was! It was yucky! So bitter!"

A faint smile appeared on Ho-jin's face at how cute this girl was, she could indeed be related to him! The only complaint he had from the Almighty was, why had they put so many delays in getting them together, when the two had always been linked with the red string of fate!

He then replied to her question, chuckling "First of all that was whiskey, not lemonade, Noona! And secondly, you got drunk after that, which led Kaoru and Chang Min Hyung to panic. Then Kaoru hyung ran to get any medications to mitigate the impeding hangover and possible vomiting, and Chang Min Hyung rushed to put his gifts in his room in order to keep them safe- priorities, you know?! So the two of them rushed off, ordering me and Dae Jung-sshi to look after both of you; as your mirror image had also reached for the other whiskey glass, on the table, assuming it to be cola and ended up getting as drunk as you! We took both of you out to the deck, so that you guys could have some fresh air, and when I saw that you were cold, I left the place for barely two minutes to grab my jacket for you. Meanwhile, Dae Jung-sshi had gone to look for a server and bring some actual lemonade for the two of you! This is when I don't know what exactly happened between you and hyung, but I think your leg was still not perfectly fine last night, so hyung must have provided you support. By the time I returned, you were screaming your feelings out loud and hyung was smiling as he was getting this sweet proposal in the form of a rant; but as you were about to finish he-"

"He denied it by saying that I am his friend? Isn't it? Did you walk in when I was being rejected brutally? It's a good thing that I don't remember anything, then. Thank you so much, Ho-jin, but you don't need to tell me anything further than this- I got the message. I don't know how I am supposed to face him now, but I will find a way." Nitya replied with a solemn face, trying to hide the sadness in her eyes; interrupting Ho-jin in the middle of his dramatic narration that he had been presenting by mixing in as many emotions, dramas, reactions and sarcasm he could add!

"No, you didn't got turned down by him as a friend-" Ho-jin attempted to clarify, when Nitya again made him stop, saying, "Please don't tell me that he considered me to be one of his fans only, as that would the worst outcome possible- I am not even his fan! And he knows this fact very well, but I guess the embarrassment made him opt for the worst case scenario, that he didn't even consider to treat me as one of his friends! Anyway, it's a good thing only, how dare I say all those things to him, totally forgetting my identity?!" Nitya blurted out again, already anticipating the palpable embarrassment during the future encounters with him. She recollected herself and started speaking again. "Ho-jin, can you please arrange a ticket back to Seoul for me? As I -"

"Nitya Jaikar! Can you listen to anybody, completely, for once? Now I can imagine why hyung had acted in that way last night! You didn't get turned down, but you guys ended up kissing each other and accepting each other's proposal- hyung also loves you, much more than anyone else in this world! So I was here to congratulate you on your relationship and ask you what you wanted to have for breakfast. I was also supposed to tell you the schedule for today, and ended up receiving Surbhi noona's call…"

Nitya was dragged back to her senses after she heard Surbhi's name, knowing that it would be tough to make her believe that she didn't mean anything by her supposed confession. But she could still easily dismiss everything outright in front of everyone else, as she would simply pull out the ace from under her sleeve- that she had been drunk last night, so she was not in her right mind and wasn't speaking sense! 

She looked at Ho-jin with puppy eyes, while attaching a request along with her explanation to him.  

"Oh no! It seems like I was not in my senses and have spoken gibberish...but before we come back to that, tell me, what has Surbhi told you? Or did she ask about any of this? And please do me a favour, promise me that you won't mention anything in front of her, as everything that happened last night was a mistake."

Ho-jin looked at her, slightly shocked. He took a momentary pause and then replied, "Well, if you say so! But please don't say any of this in front of Ji-hun hyung, as he has taken everything to be the reality and he is acting accordingly- so this will break his heart. And the second thing, regarding Surbhi noona- so she has been on the call all this while, hearing everything!!"
