Chapter 66

Ariana changed into the jumpsuit, put on the necklace, her earrings and Casey did some makeup for her.

Cassandra used the curling iron to make her curls more beautiful before braiding a quarter of the hair, making her look beautiful.

They headed downstairs and Santiago's jaw dropped the moment he saw her.

" Hey Santi, you dropped your jaw" Mariana teased.

" No I didn't. Look, it's still right in my face where it should be" Santiago said and everyone burst into laughter.

Mrs Lambert came out of her room with some invitation cards in her hands. She gave them to a puzzled Ariana.

" Mum, what are these?" Ariana asked.

" Invitation cards for your birthday party at Six" Mrs Lambert said.

" Awwwn, thanks mum" Ariana said as she carefully placed the invitation cards in her her bag pack.

" Come on, the driver is waiting for you outside." Mrs Lambert said as she led the children outside but instead they bumped into someone.

" Happy birthday Ariana" the woman said as she stretched out a present.

Ariana looked up. She hoped it wasn't who she thought it was.

EARLIER THAT DAY..

Raymond sat on his big bed as he ran his fingers through his hair in frustration.

Ariana was celebrating her eighteenth birthday and there he was, he had nothing to give to her.

He went through his wardrobe and searched through it, hoping to find something. He got angry when he didn't see anything so he sat on his bed. His thoughts diverted to flowers and he decided to gift Ariana flowers for her birthday. He closed his eyes.

He opened his eyes, freshened up and left for school. On his way to school, he bought some flowers and paid for them.

When he got to school, he saw Ariana trying to fit gifts into her locker.

That wasn't shocking, Ariana was almost everyone's favorite so he expected this. He moved closer to her.

" Happy birthday" he greeted.

" Thanks" she replied without looking at him.

" Here" he said, giving the flowers to her.

She sighed, " thanks, you can go now" she said and she made the flowers fall to the ground in a seemingly unintentional manner.

" What are you doing Ariana?" Raymond asked, confused at her attitude. " What's wrong with you and why are you acting strange with me?" He asked, hurt.

" Oh so now you ask why I'm acting strange with you? What gives you the right to ask me that" she said.

" The right of being the guy you love" he yelled, drawing the attention of students to himself.

" That was then Raymond. I don't love you anymore'' she said, looking away.

" Oh really,?" He asked in a mocking tone. " Tell that to my face" he said moving her face to his.

She pushed him away. " Let go of me" she said angrily. " What's your problem? What don't you understand when I say I don't love you anymore?" She asked.

She angrily closed her locker and made to leave when Raymond stopped her by holding her wrist.

" You won't go anywhere till I say you can Ariana" Raymond said, tightening his grip on her arm.

She pushed him with force. " Who do you think you are? What gives you that right,,?" She asked. 

He moved closer to her and tightened his grip on her arm like never before.

" You're mine Ariana, you're mine" he said.

" Let me go you fool. I am not yours and you can't claim me as yours" she said struggling as tears threatened to fall. He was hurting her arm.

" I won't Ariana, not unless you tell me you love me back" he said when suddenly he felt someone push him from behind causing him to loosen his grip on Ariana.

" Ariana?" Nicolas muttered as he moved closer to her. She embraced him tightly but she didn't get that feeling she got when she was with Raymond so she withdrew from the hug.

She looked at her arm and saw it was red. She had being hurt badly.

" What do you think you are doing?" Nicolas asked Raymond.

" And why do you think I'll listen to you?" Raymond asked, arrogantly.

" Don't you know you hurt her? What gives you the right to treat her way"

" The right as the man she loves and no one can take her away from me" he said and moved closer to Ariana. He pulled Ariana to himself by pulling her waist. He dragged her to himself and sealed his lips on hers. Without asking, he gained access into her mouth and savoured it's taste with his tongue.

Enjoying the kiss, Ariana didn't push him away. She wasn't the perfect kisser but she knew Raymond was inexperienced at it. She diverted her gaze to Nicolas who was wide eyed.

She pushed him away and gave him a resounding slap across the face.
