" here we are" Mrs Lambert said as they walked into the duplex.

" Wow. Your house is very beautiful" Ariana complimented.

" Thanks" that was Casey.

" Cassandra, show her to the guest room" Mrs Lambert said.

" Mum, can't we be roomies?" Cassandra asked with a puppy face.

" Only if it's fine by Ariana" Mrs Lambert said dropping her purse on the table.

" It's fine by me Mrs Lambert" Ariana said.

" Yay" Casey cheered. " Come Ari." She said and she assisted Ariana in going upstairs.

" Freshen up girls and I'll make dinner" Mrs Lambert said as they left.

" Ariana, would you like to put on this dress? I'll go get some new dresses for you tomorrow when I return from high school" Cassandra said.

" Sure. How much will that cost?" Ariana asked.

" Are you crazy Ariana? How can I ask you to pay for your clothes?" Casey asked.

" It's nothing. You should go shower" Ariana said and Cassandra could obviously see that Ariana was sad.

Who wouldn't be? You were poisoned, fell into a coma and now you've recovered but still your mum hasn't come to see you. She values her work more than you.

" Ari, are you still sad that your mum didn't pay you a visit while you were at the hospital?" Casey asked.

" You can read through me?" Ariana asked. " No one has ever being able to do that before" Ariana said with tears threatening to fall.

" Who wouldn't be? You're as clear as glass." Casey said.

" Easy for you to say. You have a mum who can spend as much time as possible with you but me..........." Ariana said and burst into tears.

" Ari" Casey embraced her in a hug. " It's alright. You're here now. Now relax, you look tired, I'll go get showered so that you can also get showered" Casey said and dashed into the shower.

" Why am I this unlucky?" Ariana thought to herself still in tears.

" Cassandra, would you........" Mrs Lambert walked in and saw Ariana crying.

Ariana quickly dried her tears. " She's in the shower" 

" Are you crying?" Mrs Lambert asked sitting next to her on the bed.

" No I'm not" Ariana lied.

" I can see you're in tears. It's obvious from the way you're speaking right now" Mrs Lambert.

" It's true" Ariana said and embraced Mrs Lambert in a tight hug as she burst into tears. " Why am I this unlucky? No one has ever cared as to how I feel. " She admitted amidst tears.

" Not even your mum?" Mrs Lambert asked

" Not even her" Ariana said. " Aside Casey, there's no one has ever called me aside to ask about how I feel" she said.

" Do you wanna rest so that we'll talk about this later on? You need to shower so you can have your medicine. Remember you've not recovered properly. The marks on your face and your swollen lips are evidence of that" Mrs Lambert said.

" Why do you show me so much love?" Ariana asked.

" Because I care about you" Mrs Lambert said.
