Emerald and Amethyst

Have you read my short story, "Let Go"? This novel is about all of the things that the FL, Seraphina, had to go through in her senior year in high school and college before getting married to our great ML, Jordan. It's mainly a slice-of-life kind of thing with a sprinkle of drama that you can read whenever you want! :) I really hope you will enjoy reading about my characters just as much as I love making them!!

Chapter 1: Looks

Hello! Seraphina Lee here.

Today, I have just become a high school senior and just talked to my ex-crush that I had for three years (from eighth grade to my sophomore year).

It has been two years since he asked out one of my close friends and since I let go of him.

Today is also the day when I bumped into one of the hottest guys I've ever seen in my life!

He was GORGEOUS! He looked about eight or nine inches taller than me (I am 5'3"), with a smooth face, lightly-tanned skin, and raven black hair. He also had coal-black eyes that shone with a purple gleam in the light.

Although initially I was stunned by his great looks, I've just gone through my first and second periods since I saw him and I am less flustered now, only admiring his face in my memory while on my way to my third period.

However.

It was in the third period when I find out that the guy sits next to me.

It's only been five minutes of class and already all the girls in the class are glaring at me.

I glanced over at the guy. From the introduction portion of the class, I found out that his name was Jordan Min. He moved here from Korea two weeks ago. Even though all the girls around him admired him out loud and looking at him with flirty attitudes, he paid them no mind and listened to the teacher, Mrs. Tora, a woman in her early-thirties with poreless dark skin and luscious, curly black hair. 'So he's studious and sort of cold..' I thought as I directed my gaze from him to the teacher.

We were in AP Biology, where the walls were covered in posters of the human body, diagrams of organs and their functions, and research papers about new medical discoveries. The only non-biology-related thing on the wall was a tiny clock in the corner near Mrs. Tora's desk. I stared at the clock as the second hand ticked. One second... two seconds... three seconds. I kept staring until someone tapped my shoulder. I turned to meet the eyes of Jordan Min. With a blank expression, he pointed with his pencil at the teacher and mouthed, 'Attendance'. Eyes widening, I hurriedly raised my arm and exclaimed, "Here!"

Mrs. Tora, giving me a look saying, 'Don't daydream in my class', marked my name down. I looked at Jordan with a relieved grin and mouthed, 'Thanks a lot!'. He nodded and stared back at the board. Sighing, I looked back at the teacher and paid more attention.

The class was soon over, with five pages of notes on cells and their organelles, and students around frantically packed up their things to get to their next class. Well, at least that's what I was doing. A lot of girls crowded around Jordan, asking him about his hobbies, his favorite food, whether or not he played a sport and more. Jordan just walked coolly past them and out of the door, where he met up with two other good-looking and tall guys (around 5'10 and 6'0). One had black hair with dyed-red tips, fair skin, and pretty, amber-colored eyes framed with thin, black glasses while the other had platinum blonde hair, sea-blue eyes, tan skin, and a very white smile. They started walking down the hallway, as they were using the five-minute passing period to get to their next class.

Normally passing periods aren't crazily messy and noisy at our school.

However, this passing period seemed to be one of the most chaotic of my life.

The crowd that was trailing after the three guys pushed against me as I tried to go the opposite direction towards my friends. Eventually, while panting and lugging heavy textbooks, I made it to my best friends, Elara Stone and Mei Go. Elara gave me a look of concern while Mei just scoffed at the crowd of people in the hallway.

"Unbelievable! Taking up a whole hallway just to follow those boys! What has our society become?" Mei exclaimed, rolling her eyes.

Elara nodded as she took my AP Physics II book so she could use it next period.

"At least we're witnessing something you don't normally see," Elara chuckled as we all hauled our books to the upper floor of the building. I sighed, amused and tired, as I had already become tired of the new school year.

"At least they're good-looking," I said jokingly as we climbed up to the second floor, where AP Physics II (Elara), AP Chemistry (Mei), and AP Psychology (Me) were waiting for us.
