Giant Bats Pt 1

"You're a werewolf and a healer. Okay, welcome to the group! I'm Jeene, a fire mage."

Jeene reach out her hand to Chika and shook hands before leading her to the group of new recruits. Chika felt so small because most of the members are tall and have huge, muscular bodies.

They all look at Chika with confusion but welcome her as the healer is very important to the group. Especially if they receive huge damage from a strong monster.

"Good thing, I learn some healing techniques from Chara or else I'll be useless."

Chika whispered to herself as she waited for the group to begin their raid. It took an hour for the leader to assemble all the members and there are 20 of them in total.

A man dressed in white armor stands in the middle with a big smile on his face, he introduced himself as Isaki Pedras, a knight. His long sword in hand amazed everyone as he looks strong and promising.

Everyone is excited as they started to travel towards their location but Chika could only swallow her fear as she started to regret her decision to join the raid without any backup knowledge.

"Nervous?"

Jeene went to Chika and nudge her shoulder with a laugh to ease Chika's nervousness as it is evident on her face.

"Kinda.."

"Well, it's common if this is your first raid but you'll get used to it. Our tower is in Bronze Class, so the monsters are not that strong. Besides, you're a werewolf and know how to heal. Our lives are in your hand."

Jeene tapped Chika's shoulder before speeding in front to talk to the other members. What Jeene said only added to Chika's growing nervousness.

"Their lives are in my ha-hands…"

For the time that they are traveling to the tower's location, Chika felt so heavy as if she was carrying a huge burden at her back. Her mind kept on thinking about what will happen if she fail to do her job correctly.

She wanted to back out but it was too late. They arrived at their location, the tower is standing in the southeast at the top of a mountain.

"Woah!"

Chika is mesmerized by the tower's appearance as she didn't expect it to look so fancy. The tower is full of colorful flowers decorated around the walls. A huge bronze gate greeted them as they readied themselves to enter.

"Everyone!"

Isaki Pedras shouts firmly towards his group with his hand touching the gate. His eyes show determination as he said his words as the acting leader.

"Don't die!"

As soon as he said that, Isaki pushed the door open to reveal a dark passageway. He entered first followed by Jeene beside him to give light to the area.

Chika gulp while following the group as she scans her surroundings that look like the inside of a cave. Their steps echoed inside and everyone remained silent with their weapons ready to kill.

As Chika is a healer, she's been positioned behind the group with a couple of attackers to protect them as there is another healer with her.

It's been 10 minutes since they enter the tower but there's no monster in sight. Even though the tower looks small on the outside, it's huge and wider on the inside with enormous space to go around.

Isaki raised his arm for his group to stop walking as they arrived at the middle part of the room but there was still no sign of monsters.

Chika's hands started to get sweaty as time pass by without any monsters appearing. The longer it takes, the more suffocating it gets.

She looked around for any possible ambush when her instinct is telling her to look up and when she did, her body trembled and couldn't move a muscle.

"U-Up.."

Chika pointed at the ceiling while pulling someone in front of her.

"Huh, what is it? I--"

The attacker who was tasked to defend Chika look up and that's when he saw thousands of giant bats sleeping above them. He tapped the person next to him and signal above and soon everyone knew about it.

Giant bats were similar to the size of a human child dangling above the cave, deep in sleep. Everyone dared not to make a noise as they prepared themselves to kill the giant bats.

"Jeene! Fire!"
