Eleutheromania

The kingdom of Ice was ruled by the Vuiton Royal family who were known to be cold hearted people that ruled their kingdom by fear. Carlos Vuiton was the youngest prince of that empire who was known to be gifted in the usage of ice magic and rumored to be able to predict the future. Due to his great talents and skills, he stayed in the castle, always protected and worked to his limits to be the best and excel in everything. What if he doesn't want to be perfect? What if all he wanted was to be free? What if he grew rebellious one day? Not obeying to the strict rules that were set in stone for him? Carlos Vuiton had always wanted to see the world and explore it, to be free from duties for once and see the glorious world people had always told him of. He was truly a eleutheromaniac. "But now I know, In this world, nobody is truly free. Even those flying birds that seem so free are chained to the sky." - Second try at writing a decent book, pardon the grammer mistakes and typo in the book. - Constructive criticism is welcomed :)

I'm nothing like him

The other attacker however, was as silent as a mouse when he looked up to discover a child with crystal like eyes that looked at them with extreme killing intent.

"Get off her.." he whispered to his friend, attempting to pull him away from the woman. He could feel that he was about to be mudered right then and there if he hadn't done something.

"What? Don't tell me you're scared of a ki-" before the man could complete his sentence, blood splattered against the wall. A plop could be heard as something rolled towards the feet of Carlos.

"You're next." Carlos said, not bothering to look at the decapitated head beneath his feet and crushing it beneath his feet with brute strength.

Swinging his blade, Carlos slashed off the man's arms legs The man yelled out in pain as he looked at his legs with fear. However, he gathered his courage and blurted out, "You're exactly like the king, a disgusting rascal. Like father like child." the man teased with a smile.

Carlos felt a string inside of his mind snapped, he gripped his sword tighter than ever, looking down at it, his hand could be seen shaking visibly.

He proceeded to look at the limbless body infront of him, "Maybe if I killed you, it'll prove that you're right."

The man looked up at Carlos who was now looking like he was deep in thoughts, considering his options.

"I do agree with your statement that me and my father are similar." Carlos said with a cold glare before bending down to the victim's eye level.

Carlos then got closer to the scared man and whispered something in his ear before shooting the man a small smile. The man looked up as his eyes widened in fear as he attempted to protest but no words came out.

"Die." Carlos said, his eyes glowing silver.

The man suddenly started screaming as blood spilled out of his mouth along with his organs. Carlos stepped back from the revolting sight and turned back to the woman who was shivering in fear. He made eye contact with the woman and sighed.

"Run and you won't remember anything that involved me today." Carlos eyes that were shining in a silver color stopped when the lady started running away at a fast pace.

Carlos than looked back at the disgusting diseased body and only then did he realized what he did. He stepped back in horror as he bumped into a wall. "I should've been more in control of myself." he regretfully said before regulating his breathing and walking away.

"Like father like son, We'll never be the same, ever." Carlos said, biting his lips until it started bleeding.

Regretfully, Carlos left the village in the middle of the night without his horse, hoping to arrive at a empty area where he could catch a break from today's events.

Soon, Carlos found another branch of forests with trees growing to an extremely high height. "Monsters infested forest." he said after hearing monster-like sounds.

"Better than humans, thats for sure." Carlos joked to himself before entering the forest.

But to his suprise, no monsters attacked him when he ventured even deeper, just then, Carlos omly then knew the trouble he was in when he heard high pitched squeaks and flutter of wings.

"Flesh eating bats." Carlos remarked when he looked up at the tree branches to see a family of mammal with wings and deadly red eyes, staring at him as if he was a delicious meal set on a dining table.

When the bats noticed the sound of Carlos walking had stopped, they got ready. Fangs beared and wings flared, ready to hunt down it's prey.

Carlos cursed as he hoped that he was quick enough to cast a barrier no matter how weak it was, he only needed a few moments to run. Seeing the atrocious amount of bats terrified him to the core, he knew he couldn't eradicate them all.

Remembering the book about night animals that Aiden had forced him to read, Carlos knew that flesh eating bats were one of the worst monsters that he could ever go up against. Their agility and reflexes were intimidating, along with their habit to hunt in groups were annoying.

The barrier of ice started to form but the moment the bats reached the thin layer of ice, the barrier was breached in an instant. Carlos cursed as he thought about whether his sword would be useful in such a dire situation, he grimanced in pain as he felt a sharp pain in his fingers.

Suddenly, a loud whistle-like sound was heard throughout the forest, it was high-pitched to the point that it startled the bats, making them go astray from their course to Carlos who was now behind a tree, casting another barrier.

"Who was that?" Carlos mumured, looking around, trying to spot something in the dark but to no avail. He sighed before placing out his hand and looked at his wound, reaching into his bag, he bandaged his fingers.

Carlos then heaved a sigh of relief before leaning his body on the tree, staring at his bandaged fingers.

Suddenly, Carlos heard rustling of leaves behind him and he jolted, immediately summoning his sword and getting ready.

"Oh?" a young energetic voice said in surprise before jumpimg out from behind the dark layer of fog and revealing himself to Carlos.

A boy who looked around the age of 12 stood proudly infront of Carlos with his hands on his waist, head held high. The boy had messy curls that were hazel in color, his eyes were a dark shade of brown in the current lighting.

"Hey there friend! My name is Enzo, how about..yo-" his introduction was cut off when he had realized that Carlos had a unique hair color and crystal-like eyes.

"Pri-nce?!" Enzo blurted out loudly while Carlos was leaning back on the tree, wondering what he should do to the loud mic that stood infront of him.

"Pretend you never saw me here." Carlos said, standing up, about to perform his magic again but was stopped when Enzo grabbed his hand.

"Did you get bitten by the bats?! They were poisonous-" his worried blabbering was stopped whrn Carlos slapped his other hand over the loud boy's mouth.

"Please, quiet down." Carlos desperately begged, hoping that no one else in the forest could hear him, including the monsters.

"I need to heal you though, the bite looks deadly." Enzo loudly whispered, pointing to the deep scratch on Carlos's hand.

"It's alright, now stay still-" before Carlos could finish his sentence, Enzo had already started pouring a strange liquid on his wound.

"You proabably ran away from home Prince Carlos! Don't worry, I won't snitch on you, provided that you'll be my friend." Enzo offered with a huge grin as he fixed up the prince's pale hands.

Carlos was left speechless as Enzo wrapped his hand with bandages neatly, "You won't tell anyone?" he whispered eagerly, truth to be told, he felt quite lonely the past few days.

With the mess he had just witnessed and done, Carlos felt terrible, being called similar to his father made him more upset than anything, he didn't want to be him.
