Victor looked from Aria to Jacob and looked at the two buckets. He said, "It was actually a very close call. One of you got 42 fishes while the other one got 45."
Jacob: "I'm pretty sure that I got 45."
Aria: "Why? Because you got a head start?"
Jacob pretended to flip his hair. He said, "Cause I'm just that good."
Aria laughed as she said, "Okay, once and for all. Who won, father?"
Jacob: "It's obvious I..." His words were cut short as Victor said, "Aria caught 45 fishes."
Jacob: *mouth open* "..."
Aria happily hugged Victor and planted a kiss on his cheeks. She said, "Yaayyyy!! I won!!!"
Aria then turned towards Jacob and pointed towards the two buckets, saying, "Come on. Start."
Jacob sighed and picked up the buckets, one in each hand, mumbling something that sounded oddly like "too good" and "can't believe". Aria looked at Victor and said, "Father, let's go. I need to go to Mr. White's house to help out a bit. Jacob can help you take the fishes to the market."
Victor shook his head. He said, "I never take my fishes to the market unless I have caught at least 60."
Jacob: "What are you talking about? We have more than 80 here."
Victor: "The ones Aria caught are fine. But I cannot sell the ones you caught. They are your catch."
Jacob laughed as he said, "Don't be like that Victor. I only caught this much because I was competing with Aria. Otherwise I only planned to catch around ten. They are more than enough for my family."
Victor was still unwilling to give up, "You can come and sell the rest yourself. But I can't eat money earned by other's hard work."
Jacob looked helplessly at Aria. Aria sighed, she knew that Victor was too stubborn and righteous. Aria pulled on the sweater that she had been holding.
Then she closed her eyes and looked down for a minute. Victor and Jacob were looking at Aria in confusion. None of them had noticed that Aria had been slowly twirling her fingers.
Soon, to Victor's and Jacob's immense surprise, numerous small balls of water came flying over to them.
Aria opened her eyes and carefully took out fishes from the balls and then twirled her fingers once more, and the balls went in the river with a splash.
Aria grinned at the two men in front of her, who were looking like they had seen a ghost.
She skipped over to Victor and linked her arm with his. She said, "There, father. I got twenty more. They should be enough, right?"
Victor: "..."
Aria: "I'll take that as a yes. Let's go."
Then she began pulling a very dazed Victor with him. After a few steps, Aria turned around at said, "Jacob, what are you standing there for? Come on. And put on a shirt."
And she skipped away.
Jacob soon caught up with them. As they reached the village, Aria said, "Jacob, please help father carry these fishes to the market. I'll pay a visit to Mr. and Mrs. White. I also look forward to seeing Bella and Steve."
Saying this she skipped away. Victor said, "That's enough Jacob. I really appreciate the help. I can carry them from here."
Jacob: "No, I lost a bet. I'm carrying them all the way."
Victor: "You lost to Aria. She's gone, so you can leave these to me."
Jacob started walking and said, "Don't think that only you can be stubborn. Now come on."
