Helen instantly spoke up before anyone had even the time to react, "No father. It was all me. I was the one who was taken over by rage. I lost control. He has nothing to do with it."
Hearing her statement, Helen's father sighed.
But Aria did not notice as something had struck her. Taken over by rage? Lost control? Was there really a word for what had happened back then.
She was pulled back to reality by Professor Thomas calling to her, "Aria? Aria?!? Something wrong?"
Aria blinked and then focused her attention on Professor Thomas, "Oh actually.....we, me and Jacob that is...we came here to kind of....."
Professor Thomas chuckled, "It's a rare sight to see you at a loss of words. Speak without fear."
Aria took a deep breath, "We were wondering if you are planning on expelling Helen?"
Jacob gasped, Helen hung her head, Mr. Scott fixed Aria with a penetrating state and Professor Thomas put the tips of his fingers together upon hearing this.
He said, "I will answer your question in a minute. First, why isn't Joseph here?"
Aria was surprised, "Joseph?"
Jacob: "He isn't with us."
Professor Thomas: "I can see that. I had sent for Joseph and when you two knocked, I presumed it was Joseph when I told you to enter."
Aria was getting impatient, "I'm sure he will come in a minute. About Helen....."
Professor Thomas: "Aria, you need to understand something. What we teach you here, is how to control your powers. The more affinity anyone has to the elements, the more dangerous the raw power can be. And controlling your emotions to control your powers is a part of it."
Aria held her breath as she waited for what was about to come. Professor Thomas continued, "Now, for my part. I would not like to lose such a talented student as Helen. And I'm sure if everyone here put their heads together we could come up with some sort of punishment for Helen's behaviour."
Aria let out her breath, but Professor Thomas continued, "But Mr. Scott is of another opinion."
Helen's dad looked enquiringly at Professor Thomas, who said, "We at the academy here do not treat the students as children. They are great bendors and have a right to know. They might be replacing me and you some day."
Mr. Scott sighed and said, "Well, I think that Helen here is a hazard not only to herself but to others around her too. You all saw what happened to the boy at whom she lost her temper. And I think it would be best if she continued the rest of her education under private teachers."
Professor Thomas said, "You see now Aria, Jacob? It was for this matter that we had called Joseph here." At this moment, there was a knock on the door.
"And I hope this time it will be him. Enter." Professor Thomas said and Joseph came in.
He was very confused to see Aria and Jacob there, but greeted Professor Thomas and his father and looked from one to another.
Professor Thomas explained the whole situation to Joseph and said, "Now Joseph, the reason we called you here is that I want to ask you, your father does not, whether you will take responsibility for Helen staying in the academy?"
Joseph: "Take responsibility?"
