Joseph was positive he had gone through most of the guests and was about to go off in search of Aria when a familiar voice called out from behind him.
Joseph turned around with a scowl on his face and said, "Hello Mr. Hale, how are you doing?"
Mr. Hale walked upto Joseph and handed him a box, saying, "Happy Birthday Joseph."
Joseph smiled as the boy beside Mr. Hale also spoke with a smile, "Hey Joseph. Happy Birthday."
It took all of Joseph's self control to stop himself from some sarcastic reply and he only managed a smile before turning to Mr. Hale, who talked with Joseph for a few minutes before going off to find Mr. Scott.
"Hey Scott, didn't you say Aria was going to be here? What? Did she abandon you because you got too clingy?" Stephen spoke with his usual relaxed smile.
Joseph rolled his eyes and said, "I'm sure she's around here somewhere. And don't think I'm the same as you, Hale. Hanging around Aria even when she doesn't want you around."
Stephen chuckled, "Aria's never going to like you with that foul mouth Scott. You better watch out that she doesn't fall for someone else while you're too busy being angry."
Joseph let out a devilish smile and said, "She's not the type to fall for sweet words. And besides,. . . . . . ."
Joseph broke off in mid-sentence, turned around and walked away from a very surprised Stephen.
While Stephen looked at Joseph's back like he was some kind of an idiot, Joseph walked away from him, over the moon.
Joseph had just felt something tugging at his sleeve and had sensed wind trying to gently lead him in a particular direction.
He could guess who was trying to lead him by using wind bending like this.
Sure enough, the wind gently led him away from all the crowd and towards a secluded corner of the hall. Joseph stopped dead once he caught sight of a figure half hidden in the darkness.
Joseph did not know how or when, but he was slightly lifted in the air and was very soon standing in front of Aria, still frozen in his tracks. Joseph was sure that nothing could much compliment Aria's beauty and was sure that he had seen as beautiful as she got.
He had seen Aria very focused while reading a book under the sun, he had seen Aria all sweaty and refreshed after a good fighting session. Hell, he had even seen her dressed in Helen's dresses ever since the start of this holiday.
And Joseph seriously believed that Aria's couldn't get any more beautiful. She already far surpassed most of the so called 'beauties'.
And whether she admitted it or not, was more beautiful than Helen, whom she herself considered to be prettier than anyone she had ever known.
But looking at Aria right now, Joseph realised how wrong he had been.
Aria actually looked right now that she didn't belong to this world and was one of the angels that had descended to earth. Joseph forgot to blink as he stared at Aria's face.
