Professor Thomas patted Aria's head as he said, "You are a curious one, aren't you?"
Aria blushed a little, "Well....."
Seeing that she did not have anything to say, Professor Thomas spoke, "You know child, we don't really bend elements with our fingers. Fingers are just a medium for us to communicate our will to the spirits of elements."
Aria: "Will....."
Thomas: "Yes, that's right. Will. That is what bends the elements. When I was bending wind without moving my fingers, I was not doing something extraordinary. I had just removed the communication device and decided to talk directly to the spirits."
Aria was confused, "Talk with spirits?"
Professor Thomas plucked a flower and handed it to Aria, "It is a figure of speech my child. It means that was using my will to connect with the elements. Though doing it with our fingers is something that comes very naturally to us, connecting with elements with the sheer force of will takes a lot of practice."
Aria looked at the flower in her hand, dumbfounded.
Professor Thomas broke her chain of thought as he said, "Now Aria. Why don't you go and stand in the sun with the other students. You don't want to catch a cold, do you?"
It was then Aria noticed that she was drenched.
She had been standing amazed during the fight and had not noticed when water had been sprayed all over her.
Aria walked back over to the line of students, while Professor Thomas called Joseph's friends to join the line, as it was their turns next.
As Aria joined the line, she noticed a couple of girls squeaking and giggling. She followed their line of sight and saw that Joseph had taken off his coat, waist-coat and shirt because he too had been drenched.
Aria's eyes rested for a moment at Joseph's platinum blonde hair, before a large cut on his left arm caught her eye.
Joseph had apparently not noticed it as he sat there under the sun, a little blood dripping out from the cut.
Under the watchful gazes of the squeaking girls and some stunned boys, Aria walked over to Joseph.
The boy clearly noticed Aria walking over but did not give any reaction. He did not even look up when Aria stood beside him, but Aria did not mind as she said, "Hello."
Joseph looked up with a smug expression, "Well hello. Look what we have here. Is the damsel in distress here to break my leg?"
Aria caught the sarcasm in his voice, but she was her usual self today. She said, "Not really. I came over to well... you're bleading."
Aria pointed towards his wound and Joseph looked down, "Oh yeah. I did not notice."
Aria: "You should go over to Miss Anhao. She will clean it so it doesn't get infected."
Joseph: "I would much rather stay here. What did you come here for anyway? If you are here to just say that, you can go back now."
Joseph was clearly angry with her. Aria spoke, "No, actually there's more. Though I stand by the words I said that day, but I admit that they were rude and should not have been spoken. I apologise for that."
Joseph scoffed, "Apology declined. Now scoot. Everyone comes crawling once they see my skills."
