Everyone looked at Aria and Mrs. Scott spoke, in what sounded like a vexed voice, "But you yourself said you had checked the mansion and the grounds."
"I had checked for Helen." Aria spoke, still looking towards the main door, "But there might have been some small clue I might have missed."
"We should do it. It's better than standing around here and doing nothing. And as Aria said, we might find some clues." Mrs, Carl spoke out from somewhere near Mrs. Scott.
Aria looked in her direction and threw a grateful smile as Mrs. Scott sighed and shrugged. She seemed really tired now.
Aria looked at Mrs. Scott and became overwhelmed with guilt. Mrs. Scott looked like she had aged a few years since discovering that Helen was kidnapped.
Aria vowed to herself to protect and bring back Helen, whatever it took, as the people in the parlour slowly began to shift out, most of them hoping to find a clue where Aria had found Jacob.
Most of the people had already gone out and Aria, who had suggested looking for clues, stood still as a statue. Professor Thomas walked upto Aria and put a hand on her shoulder. "Don't do anything reckless, okay Aria?"
Aria didn't give any reaction. She didn't even look up. Aria knew that if she looked up, let alone spoke, Professor Thomas would know something reckless was exactly what she was going to do.
Professor Thomas sighed upon getting no reply from Aria and walked away.
Once the parlour was almost empty, Aria began walking towards the main door.
She suddenly stopped upon feeling a hand on her shoulder and turned around.
Joseph stood with his hand on Aria's shoulder.
"You did this deliberately. Didn't you?" Joseph asked, his grip tightening on Aria's shoulder.
Seeing that Aria didn't reply, Joseph spoke, "This was all to satisfy your curiosity wasn't it?!? You don't care one bit about Helen, do you!?!?! All you care about is yourself!!!!"
Joseph was shouting and panting by the time he finished.
Aria balled her hands into fist but still did not reply. Joseph's grip on her shoulder tightened even further so that his knuckles turned white. He opened his mouth to speak again but before he could, Aria jerked herself away from Joseph's grasp and literally glided across the floor and out through the main doors.
Once outside, Aria quickly glanced around and after making sure nobody was paying her any attention, she walked in the direction of the main gate.
As Aria reached the main gate, she flew upwards and landed on the boundary wall, and sure enough, there was another note pinned there. While everyone was speculating if Aria really was queen Amber's daughter, Aria, who had kept up wind bending all the while, felt her barrier being broken.
She wanted to rush out then and there, but then Aria realised that it was just a note being flown with wind bending. So, here she was.
Aria pulled out the pin and took the note in her hands.
As compared to just an hour ago, she was completely calm and her hands were steady as a stone. All Aria felt right now was angry. Anger at herself, at the night warriors, at Joseph, at Jacob, at Helen, at everyone.
