Chapter : 29 Everyone Is Bewildered

Kayden sat in the shade of the trees in the yard, leaning against the tree, lost in thought. "That poster picture definitely looked similar to how I looked at the start when I possessed this body," Kayden mused, realizing that the body he was inhabiting was Liu Yuan's, and the poster picture was, in fact, him.

Setting aside these thoughts, Kayden pondered, "How did that person know it was me? It's nearly impossible to recognize me now that the skeleton body has completely transformed into a handsome man."

"Now, the big question is whether or not I should go to the Liu clan," Kayden contemplated, gazing up at the rays of the sun streaming through the gaps in the branches and leaves.

"Nah, there's no need for me to go there. Why would I waste my time?" Kayden concluded, standing up and walking away.

Meanwhile, inside the house, Li Wei was busy grinding ginseng in a stone grinder, and the sound of grinding filled the room.

"Hey, Li Wei, when are we leaving?" Kayden asked as he appeared in the entrance of the room. Li Wei didn't respond, too engrossed in his task.

Approaching Li Wei, Kayden inquired, "What is this?" Startled, Li Wei finally acknowledged his presence, saying, "It's you. I'm trying to make an elixir for healing."

Kayden remembered the ginseng from the cave and expressed interest in trying it. "Give me some to try if you have extra," he requested.

Li Wei replied, "Well, I'm just a novice alchemist, and I don't even have a cauldron to extract and mix it properly."

"Extract? You just want the liquid from the ginseng, right?" Kayden asked.

"Yes, but using this method, it doesn't properly get extracted," Li Wei added, somewhat disappointed.

Suddenly, Kayden picked up the ginseng and held it in his right hand. His hand started to glow with a blue radiance, and the ginseng began to hover, surrounded by his blue qi. Kayden's eyes were focused on his palm as small sparks appeared, slowly burning the ginseng. The blackened ashes of the ginseng vanished, leaving a small spoonful of brownish-orange liquid floating in the air.

"Here," Kayden said as he dropped the liquid into a container.

Li Wei, with wide-open eyes, couldn't believe what he had just witnessed. "How did you do it without a cauldron?" He was shocked, not only by Kayden's ability to extract the ginseng but also by doing it without a cauldron.

"Well, it requires quite a bit of concentration, as the slightest increase in my energy could have burned the ginseng. But you see, I am Kayden Break; you shouldn't be this surprised," Kayden said, as if it wasn't a big deal.

"So, when are we leaving?" Kayden asked.

"Just let me make the elixir; it will finish soon, and then we can leave," Li Wei said, still bewildered by what he saw.

"Well, just call me out when we're ready to leave," Kayden said as he left the room.

Li Wei watched the extracted liquid, shaking his head. "This is impossible. Not even my master can do it without the cauldron," he muttered, then got back to work.

Kayden made his way towards the pig shed, where Chang Guy was locked up. As he reached the wooden shed, the door was secured with metal chains. He removed them and pushed the door open, creating a creaking sound that echoed through the shed.

Inside, he was shocked by the bizarre sight before him. A pig race was in full swing between Chang Guy and Lao Pi, their grunts and snorts mixing with the excitement of the pig crowd. It was a spectacle like no other.

As both of them saw Kayden, they halted their pig ride.

"It's you, kid," Chang Gui exclaimed, while Lao Pi seemed to be getting flashbacks.

"You, come with me. I want to have a talk," Kayden said, motioning for Chang to follow him outside.

"I'll be back. Then we'll finish the race," Chang assured Lao Pi as he followed Kayden outside.

"So, tell me, what do you want to ask?" Chang inquired.

"What's with you? You came here to talk to me and also got locked up here," Kayden questioned, puzzled by this guy's actions.

"Well, I wanted the reward placed on you. It was just by luck I saw you in the market while I was drinking and thought your face was familiar to the poster of the missing Li clan young master," Chang explained.

"Familiar?" Kayden's eye twitched as he tried to understand how in the world his face could be considered similar.

"If that's all, I'll leave. I have a race to complete," Chang declared with sheer determination, then headed back for the pig race, leaving Kayden bewildered.
