The boys met at the door of Skylar's room. I announced hunger once once we tumbled in. Sky moved directly to the fridge and took out some ingredients with Kathy dropping her medications on the table. The boys tuned into a channel to watch sports. I picked up twisted love; A Series by Anna Huang and commenced reading. Kathy didn't pass out. That was a good sign. Dr Silvio's words kept ringing in my head. I dropped the book on the center table then walked over to Sky's table, grabbing a paper and pen. I retreated back to join Kathy on the couch. I wrote on the paper and slammed it on the table for attention. She looked at it. I needed her to believe she could hear me. She had to hear me so it could all be better. She closed her eyes, taking in a sharp breath. I did the same and hoped with everything I had that she would hear me. And she did
" Kathy" I whispered. She looked at the boys who were staring at her. " You can hear me?" I asked.
