Changed World

Opening his eyes, Edward found himself back in the lecture hall with his head on the desk. Sitting up, he looked around to see everyone still frozen. Leonard was still talking to the girl, the teacher was nowhere to be seen, but his black stud earring was back in his left ear.

"Did I go back in time?" Edward pondered, touching his earring. "What the hell is going on?" Wanting to make sure, he brought out his phone from his pocket to see if the pictures he had taken were still there, surprised to see they were.

That scratched out his theory of going back in time. If he did, the pictures would have been gone. But why is he back in the lecture hall with his earring in his ear?

Wanting to understand his situation more, Edward remembered the noise he heard from the bathroom before all this happened. Returning his phone to his pocket, Edward bolted out of the lecture hall, running towards the female lecture hall where he heard the noise.

Entering the bathroom, Edward slowed to a stop, cautiously approaching the stall. Inside, he noticed a wet trail moving from beside the toilet to the other stall from the gap under the stall's wall.

Going to the one beside it, Edward saw the trail had moved to the next one. This continued till the wet trail entered the last stall. Climbing the toilet, he looked over to see a small blue jelly-like mass with a small orb in the middle on the girl's feet.

*Squelch* *Squelch*

It made as it engulfed the girl's shoes, which slowly melted away. Edward stared silently at it, his mind taking a while to process what he was looking at.

"Is that a slime!?" He exclaimed, almost falling off the toilet bowl. Edward looked back at the blue slime, stunned. "The world is frozen, and now this? Did this just become a game?"

Taking out his phone, Edward took a picture of the slime slowly absorbing the girl's shoes. Amazed by the slime, he returned his phone to his pocket and kept watching the slime do its thing. Soon, the girl's shoes were gone, and it was now eating away at her flesh.

"Oh, shit." He let out, wondering what he should do. If he leaves the slime be, her feet would be gone.

Being the good samaritan he is, mostly curious about what would happen after he killed the smile, Edward slowly climbed into the stall. It immediately became cramped with three people in there. Positioning his right foot above the slime, he stomped down hard, stepping on the smile's core and at the same time on the girl's foot.

"Ugh. This sneaker was new." Edward moaned, regretting his action. He had just bought these new pairs for 300 dollars, and they were now ruined by slime goo. "Fucking shit." He cursed, shaking his foot and sending goo of the slime flying around, one of them landing on the girl's hair.

To Edward's surprise, the slime's core was still intact and rolled out of the stall. Climbing out of the cramped stall, he saw the slime-core stationery in the middle of the bathroom.

Edward walked up to the core and inspected it, not daring to touch it. It is blue, see-through glass, similar to marble.

An automated voice suddenly sounded in his head, causing him to jump back, trying to find whoever said that. "What? Who said that?" Edward asked, looking around the bathroom. Except for those two in the stall, no one else was there with him.

A small book suddenly appeared at the top right corner of his vision. Edward turned to look at the book, but it kept moving, always remaining in the corner of his vision. Seeing he couldn't turn directly at the book, he instead focused on it. Suddenly, in front of him, a blue screen appeared.

"Huh?" Edward mumbled, stepping back, but the screen followed him. "So this is a game? Well, my name is Edward Smith."

The name then disappeared with another screen coming up.

"This is truly like a game. You can even have a party with this." Edward said, amazed while leaning on the sink. Edward raised his hand and tried to click on the first page, but his hand went through it. Seeing this, he focused on the User Attributes.

"Oh, shit. That's a lot of stats!" Edward let out, taken aback. It didn't make sense to him. For example, what is the difference between endurance and defense? "How do I even know what each of them represents? Some of them are obvious, but the others?" Noticing the question mark beside his name, Edward focused on it as another screen appeared in front of his status screen.

Exp: Determines how much experience that are needed to level up

MP: Shows your Mana Point

Vitality: Affects natural regeneration and adaptability.

Endurance: Affects stamina and stamina regeneration,

Strength: Affects physical strength and explosive strength

Defense: Affects muscles, bones, and organs defense.

Agility: Affects movement speed and attack speed.

Dexterity: Affect hand and body control.

Intelligence: Affects thinking and learning speed.

Sense: Affects the five senses.

Arcane: Affects mana point.

AP: Attribute point. Used to increase Vitality, Endurance, Strength, Defence, Agility, Dexterity, Intelligence, Sense, and Arcane.

SP: Skill Point. Used to increase skill level.

TP: Talent Point. Used unlock talent and upgrade them.

Edward carefully read through the information screen, finally understanding what each stat was for. "With this amount of things, there can be many unique builds." He mumbled, moving his hair from his eyes. "I suppose there are no resets, so how you build is very important."

With this new knowledge in mind, Edward thought of going back to the system navigation screen, and his status screen and information screen disappeared. Focusing on System Log, a new screen appeared.

Looking through the log, his eyes stopped at the last stamp. "Oh, shit. I forgot about my reward." Quickly going back to the system navigation page, he focused on his mail and a new screen popped up. "But second? So I am not the only one in this time stop."
