Chapter # 41

Katie: "Ethan, it isn't like I don't trust you. I just don't want to doubt Mia."

Ethan: "It's the same thing, Katie." His face had such a hurtful expression that Katie felt really bad.

Mia entered the kitchen.

Mia: "What's taking so long?"

Katie: "Oh, I'm sorry. I'll just set the table." She left the kitchen.

Mia: "Hmm...I see...you eavesdropped last night. So bad, she doesn't even believe what you saw."

Ethan: "You dare hurt her, and I'll make sure you don't breathe the next second."

Mia: "Ooh poor, Romeo...Even if you know everything you can't do anything. You'll see her hurt yet won't be able to do anything."

Ethan snapped.

He pushed Mia and they started to fight. Katie entered the kitchen to see Ethan on top of Mia and she was dumbfounded.

Katie: "What the hell are you doing, Ethan?" She pushed him aside and helped Mia up. "Have you gone crazy?!" She shouted.

Mia: "Katie, he just jumped on me and started hitting me. He is not the Ethan we knew. I'm so scared. Please save me. He was trying to kill me." she said while crying.

Katie looked at Ethan. Disappointment written all of her face. Ethan felt a pang in his heart.

Katie: "I can't believe you would go this low." She took Mia with her and was about to leave the Kitchen when Ethan grabbed her hand. He looked at her apologetically.

Ethan: "Katie, please listen to me." Katie harshly pulled her hand back.

Katie: "Don't touch me!" She left the kitchen with Mia.

Ethan punched the wall so hard that his hand started bleeding.

Katie: "I'm so sorry Mia. I don't know what's gotten into him. He wasn't like that before."

Mia: "No, it's fine. He must find it hard to trust me. I shouldn't have come with you in the first place."

Katie: "No don't say that. Please. I'm sorry for everything. I have already lost everyone. I can't afford to lose you."

Mia gave her little smile.

Mia: "Though it's not the appropriate time but can I ask you a favor?"

Katie: "Yeah. Say whatever you want."

Mia: "I wanna go to a place. My parents might be there. They won't be alive but I still wanna check."

She got teary. Katie felt bad. She did want her to lose her parents so she decided to help her.

Katie: "Where?"

Mia: "The abandoned colony." The place immediately clicked in Katie's mind. 'Isn't this the place where all the minions are? We were going to attack there.' She thought.

Mia: "Is it not fine with you?"

Katie: "No, no it's fine. You stay here and I'll go and check. It's dangerous outside."

Mia: "No..take me with you. I can't stay here with Ethan alone. Please."

Katie: "Mia, don't worry. I know that he won't do anything to you. Forgive him please. He just did it out of impulse. I'm sure he never meant that."

Mia: "No, take me with you!" She said with a rather rude tone which shook Katie. "I mean I really wanna find my parents myself. Or else I won't feel relieved."

Katie: "Ok, but you need to be very careful."

Mia: "I will and also you are here to protect me, right?" She said with a fake smile.

Katie: "You don't need to mention." Katie reassured her. They were about to go out when Katie said.

Katie: "Let me tell Ethan, first."

Mia: "No, don't tell him. He won't ever allow you to go with me considering how much he hates me." She said with a sad expression.

Katie: "Hmm you're right. Let's go then."

Katie and Mia safely reached the abandoned colony. Katie was very alert and careful. They kept walking.

Katie: "Do you know the way.?"

Mia: "I do. Very well." She had an evil grin on her face.

She stopped at a place and they were suddenly surrounded by minions.

Katie: "Mia, be careful. Stay behind me."

Mia: "Oh, I'm scared, Katie." She said faking her voice and snickering quietly.

{Back at home}

Ethan: "Who the hell locked my door? Katie, are you there? My door isn't opening. Katie!"

He kept calling her that she might hear his voice and open the door. Yet no one came. He tried to unlock the door but couldn't.

"Well there's nothing else I can do." He puched and broke the door. "I'm definitely gonna get an earful."
