Chapter 2

Here's a list of Characters and what they're equipped with

Hernan Cortez: Pistol, Rapier and Lanturn Shield (an actual exotic European weapon that combines a lantern, shield, gauntlet and a wrist mounted blade)

Francisco Pizarro: Rapier and Morningstar

Gonzalo Fernandez: Zweihander

Ferdinand Magellan: Axe and Pistol

Christopher Columbus: Mace

Felice della Rovere: Thurible (the spinning smoke thing they use in churches, if Guan Yinping can have a pole with 2 lanterns attach on each end then Felice can have the spinning church wrecking ball)

With his being a better now Christopher gave William a week long tour of his territory, William is surprise to find that his territory is the size of Cuba.

On his tour William naturally got aquatinted the rest of the heroes he has made.

There isn't many it's just Christopher Columbus who is the acting governor in William's stead, There is Gonzalo Fernandez who is the general and serving under him is Hernan Cortez and Francisco Pizarro. Ferdinand Magellan is his admiral and there is Felice della Rovere, daughter of the Pope and has huge sway over the religious matters.

Back to the present

'Such a pain' William thought as he reads through piles upon piles of papers work.

Like any transmigrator William naturally has various ideas he want to implement, naturally his ideas didn't come without opposition as some of his ideas cost quite a bit, particularly the research and development of the steam engine.

William wasn't an engineer so he knows very little about engines in general, however William is very confident what few things he knows about engines should be enough to direct craftsmen to be able to "invent" an engine.

So William hired a bunch clock makers to do the task.

Another thing he is currently pushing for is land reform as William wants to organise the farmlands into neat square blocks.

Naturally land reform is by no means an easy task as he is redrawing the boundaries between each territory from the next, and he'll need to hire an army of surveyors to make sure the lines are straight.

There are a few other projects but most of them are put on hold as William doesn't want to go all in on his ideas just yet.

Like what if his ideas fail? What if the clockmakers aren't able to make an engine? What if his land reforms ideas end terribly? These are all very much possible as William is no expert in any of the fields he dabbling.

Like if his ideas fail he could still sweep them under the rug, but if he goes all in on his crazy ideas that he isn't doesn't actually know how they works and they fails… he might be staring at a rebellion on his hands.

Anyway after reading the report and everything seems to checks out William dips his feathered pen into the ink box before signing off on the document.

As he was about to pick up another parchment a knock came through the door.

Knock Knock

"Who is it?" William asked as he sighs

"Master William it's lady Felice she is waiting at the guest chambers" the maid replied

"Alright I'll go there and meet her" William replies as stood up from his seat and stretches his shoulder.

'The pains I have to deal with for simply wanting to divide the farm lands into standardised squares for easy accounting' William thought before he heads out to meet Felice.

At the guess chamber

William enters the chamber and sees a beautiful young lady on the guest table waiting patiently for him.

She gently smiles upon his arrival "greetings lord William"she says as she sips on her tea.

"Good day, Lady Felice what brings you to my humble abode?" William asked

"Well… lord William I'm here to discuss certain matters pertaining to your "land reform"" she said as she smiles

'Just great' William thought as he knows that she's probably here representing the clergy and she'll probably try to argue in the interests of clergy, which will inevitably throw a few wrench into his plans.

"By all means speak your mind and I shall do what I can to appease your worries" William replied

"It's about the….." she then went on to the heart of the matter.

Apparently his reform would cut into church lands, William tried to avoid it as much as possible but even so with the amount of land the church has it's unavoidable that he'll cut into some of the sooner or later.

William obviously want to organise the land into a giant grid with roads running in between each "block".

So what does he do now? Does he leave out the church lands or does he cut into them regardless?

Like the land would still be owned by the church, it's just that it would divide into grids.

Confiscation of church land is obviously out of the question not unless he wants the clergy to start a revolt.

Thinking about William bring up a map and looks at the what it would look like if he leaves out the church lands.

….

Suffice to say William is not pleased with the border gore, not to mention it will severely disrupt several of his highway plans.

Transportation between settlements could be cut down drastically if he could build roads across church lands.

And so for the next several days William negotiated with Felice on his land reforms.

A few days later

'My god, negotiating with her is like wrestling with a tiger' William thought as concessions has to be made before finally arriving to a deal.

In the end William had to promise her to build a bunch of schools for poor people and give away some land, before he is allowed to build roads across some of the church's held lands.

All in all William seems to have come out of the bad end of the deal. This is of course to be expected as he isn't some trained negotiator, he was just a gamer that makes mods back on Earth.

'Well at least that dealt now'William sighs as he leans back on his chair.

Then his eyes wonders of to the pile of paper work on his table.

Due to the success of the church a few of the minor nobles are forming an alliance seeking concessions.

'Just great now I have to deal with another can of worms' William thought

Individually William could just shrug them off but these minor nobles as a group are much harder to deal with.

A few weeks later

The minor nobles have been dealt with and his reform while still having a few kinks but it is going relatively smoothly.

News has finally came in that Magellan is back from his expedition.

'Well that was quick he has only been gone for a few weeks' William thought

William had expected him to begone for months.

'Something must have happened' he thought.

Later In the throne room

William is currently listening to Magellan recounting his journey and how he discovered China.

"On the second day of my treacherous journey eastwards, my spotter found land…." Magellan theatrically explains voyage, suffice to say his retelling of his little trip is filled with exaggerations and embellishments.

Due to the language barrier Magellan couldn't communicate with the natives who were seemingly very hostile and attacked them on sight, the native's attire is fairly sophisticated not unlike the Indians that inhabit the American mainland.

With the natives being very aggressive and having nothing to gain from battling them Magellan went back on his ship and continued on mapping the coast, after a few days he decided to return home as he's quite confident that they have arrived in China.

Being confident that he's in China he tries going south to the Portuguese fort in Malacca, unfortunately as he arrived the Portuguese were nowhere to be found and Malacca is infested with tribal aboriginals.

Suffice to say the tribals are anything but friendly and Magellan is chased off yet again, Magellan himself was injured by an ambush by malaccan aboriginals so he is forced to call of further exploration and decided to heads home.

Magellan explains as he shows a small growth on his head, the part when he was Bonked.

With a job done William naturally rewarded Magellan, although he didn't do anything extraordinary so he just gave him a little bonus on top of his usual wage.

William craps his hand and servants came.

"With a job well done give out good sir his reward…. Oh and since he suffered such a serious injury be sure add a little extra" William said as he gave the servant a glare before adding just in case the servant is a little dull "according to the injury he suffered of course"

The servant dutifully nods and adds a hand full of coins into the bag before giving it to Magellan.

"Oh thank you my lord" Magellan said as he takes the bag of money and leaves.

After Magellan leaves William turns to the map charted by Magellan and thinks deeply of the information he just received.
