Chapter 18: Life as a Speedster 1

Riser POV

*Beep*Beep*Beep*

My eyes wide open as I smash my alarm digital clock it gets destroyed instantly I then get up from my bed and take off my pyjama.

Yes, I have a damn pyjama that has a fire emblem on it.

Even my underwear is the same.

Anyway, I go into my bathroom while brush my teeth.

"Devil and human morning routine are the same huh?" I mutter as Riser never bothers to learn lifestyle magic that made you skip your bath.

As the name goes that magically cleans yourself up.

"Fuck. I am so going to learn that." I grab my toothbrush, it is red, all my items are red with fire marks on them. Heck, even my bed sheet with curtain is the same.

Talk about honouring your family house. This is too much.

*Splat* 

The toothpaste that I grab blasts it inside my face as I swoop in and do it as I proceed to brush my teeth.

After done finished it, I rinse my mouth with some water as I then continue my way to finally shower myself.

"And I Riser is here?! Where is everybody?" I ask out loud as I know that I must be in time for breakfast.

Maybe they are a little late this morning? The maids and the chef in the kitchen glance at me.

"Riser-sama, how about you take a seat first?" One maid said to me as I nod my head.

"Psst. I am not blind right I swear I see Lord Riser descended in a blur." One maid has blue hair asks another maid.

"Yes. Me too." Another maid who has pointy ears with green hair replied.

"You two do your job more than talking." The head maid scolded them as she also take a mental note to tell this to Lord and Lady Phenex.

Soon all the Phenex members are at the table and have their breakfast though all their attention is not on the food or drink being served but rather on Riser.

They all can see he is gulping down his food very fast.

The pancakes with maple syrup keep have gone along with sips of sunny egg and hotdog. His fork already refills back all the foods with his mouth sucking them like a vacuum.

*Burp*

Riser then pats his stomach as he sighs in relief. 

RISER POV

"Arghh. I now feel active again. Like I can run 100 laps around the underworld right now. This is maybe due to my speedster physiology.

That explains why I arrived faster and my hunger. I skip dinner yesterday and fell asleep the moment my face fell on the pillow.

I must shock my family. Meh. They must her used to seeing my abrupt change. Even this will not shock that much right?

" Riser dear. At least do not show that kind of behaviour to the public okay?" My mother asks me.

"I will try to," I replied as I take a sip at this tea. Ah, this is so wonderful.

"Riser. What are your plans for today?" My father asked me as I look at him.

Hmm. This is my chance to ask him to give me some missions. No. I will ask after I feel I am satisfied with my training.

"Training father. Why?" I ask him back.

"Hmmm. I see. Riser, we know about your mutation." My father said to me as I look at him.

Mutation? What the heck? Does he know about the mutant from Marvel?

Crap.

Or maybe not? Oh, I guess they discover my super speed. Guess I did not pay attention to my surroundings huh?

"Riser. Do not be embarrassed and scared about it. You should be proud to have it." My mother must think I felt those.

"I just am about to tell you that but I guess you guys already know," I said to them.

"Speed huh? Other Phenex never had those. Maybe you are the first one to have that." My father said as I know he lists already investigate the history of Phenex to see if anyone displays this unique power of mine.

"Can you show us?" My mother asks me as I smile hearing that.

"Yes." I stand up as I start to use my super speed.

I pick up all the plates in front of them and poke Ravel's cheek on top of that, then I proceed to wash them thoroughly.

Then I approached the chef who is filling another plate of cupcakes I grab 2 of them and grab the bottle of maple syrup as I pour it onto them.

While eating them I take the jug of tea and pour it into the glass of my family members.

And to finish it, I decide to throw an apple into the air as my movement becomes normal back.

I noticed the Head Maid with my parent can track my movement which irk me a little. Pietro's arrogance and confidence in anyone able to track his speed must be felt by me too.

"Kya!" Ravel touches his right cheek I just poke as I eat my apple and both my parents start at me with amusement.

"Oh, my son. You truly are quick." My mother exclaimed as my father seemed to be in deep thought.

"Riser. Are you up for a challenge?" My father asks me as I sit up straight hearing that.

"Yes. I am up for it father." I think my father wants to test my strength right now seeing I displayed this super speed.

"A week from now. I will have an opponent no opponents for you to face. They are our clients who owe us some favours. I will ask them to fight with you. " My father said to me.

"Okay. I will do it." I replied.

"Good. I will expect you to not disappoint me again." My father tells me.

The table now is left with my mother and Ravel as I am now in the library.

I pick up a couple of books mostly about fire, wind, devils, magic and Devil's calls history.

"Okay. Everyone knows speedsters are not only able to run fast and has a fast perception. Or need to est fast. Rather they also have a brain that can work faster than before." 

In some terms, I can understand things faster. And what better way than learning all these. Also, I will too remember things more clearly than before.

A week to battle huh? I can deal with that. My strength is pathetic right now. But that will change.
