chapter 4: our first evolution & a important decision

Since those four bandits joined our group it's only been about two days I'm close to getting my two handed weapon skill to Master level or in other words to tear 5. necrotic cloud is nearly at tear 3 which currently now it gives a 15% attack defense and speed boost to any undead that was standing in it now I had to figure out what list of spells would I want to obtain eventually of course there were spells in the necromancy tree I had not look at it not to mention some of them that I did look at had some pretty strange requirements for you to be able to learn the spell and some didn't have very strange requirements just had some annoying requirements like for example a spell that will basically replace 'raise dead' it is called 'create undead' even now as I'm reading the scription of it it still caught me by surprise because now we had more than just flavor text it now contains detailed information more specifically about what can I create with it which was what really caught my attention the information said "the create undead spell lets you create more than just basic zombies and skeletons now with this spell you can create three new types of undead minions and create evolved versions of basic skeletons and zombies the first of these new types of undead minions 'undead animals' which on its own doesn't sound too hard to understand it creates a undead version of the animal like for example a zombie or skeleton wolf the second new type was 'undead monsters' which again just like the previous typed in sound too hard to understand like for example a zombie or skeleton version of a goblin but the last new type really caught my eye 'undead mage' which really, right because then I wouldn't be the only magic user and the group even though they would be undead but then also begs what kind of mage would they be is it a Pacific type like they would be a necromancer or would they being a different type of mange or would it depend on where they were created as I looked at what was required for this spell for me to learn was to blank tokens regardless of type as I was thinking to myself I noticed that I got a notification

"congratulations your zombie minion can evolve to the deathless"

which made me completely forgot I had a zombie minion keep on killing skeletons so it could eventually evolve but now I think about it there must be some sort of cost besides meeting the requirements revolution I should probably ask system

"system I have a question"

the noise I was quaint custom to when it comes to waking system up was made

"greetings champion what is your question?" I would speak calmly to system "is there any other costs besides meeting requirements for evolution because I do have a minion ready to go through evolution" system would make a couple of noises none of them I recognized or could even figure out what they mean then she spoke up "the first time a minion will go through evolution is free besides meeting the requirements the second third and fourth time will take materials sacrifices rituals and other things to complete for them to go through the second third and fourth evolution" as I heard this it made me smile and I began to think to myself"so there is four evolutions to a basic undead minion that is some useful information and could be very useful "tell me what the deathless evolution specializes in" system would make a very familiar "the deathless evolution specializes in sword & shield tactics they are fairly intelligent and can use strategy unlike most undead minions of the zombie type although they are not as smart as skeleton deathless they still can outsmart most humans win put together in small groups they can also outmaneuver most living creaturesmost necromancers prefer to use deathless as commanders of the basic undead leading squads to use strategy without having to be micromanaged by the necromancer also death knights can evolve to being a creature called a ghast which has the ability to turn anything it kills into an undead minion. But it could only have up to 10" I honest thinking a little bit about my next question "tell me more about the create undead spell" I asked this question because I was curious to see if she knew more about the spell than what it was telling me "the create undead spell can create a basic zombie or skeleton evolution from a corpse also unlike the raise dead spell it has a capacity of 20 once you have reach Master level of understanding also when you reach Master level of understanding you get a permanent 10% boost damage to all undead minions created by the spell" I began to think about what I could do if I had the create undead spell but I probably should evolve that zombie minion now just so I can have it for later and see what he needs to go through evolution again I called for it "zombie come to me" I could hear the sounds of movement as the smell of rotten flesh filled my nostrils I figured my zombie would be here in a few seconds judging from the smell and as I turn my head to my left eye I saw my zombie minion with a faint blue glow in his eyes which wasn't there beforehand I can only assume that's how you can tell visually how a minion of yours can evolve I raised my hand out towards it and said "zombie begin evolution to deathless" I said this assuming that's how you get to the volve similar how you would cast a spell and to my surprise and did begin to work the zombies eyes would begin to Glow a brighter blue as I saw the muscles of the body begin to move even though the body is staying perfectly still as the muscles moves I saw it's fine to begin to move upwards like it's starting to gain a posture that you would see on a soldier I watch carefully as I observe every little change that this minion was going through after a few seconds of its body changing it start to look around and it made a what sounded like a very raspy voice it would be hard on the ears if you were believing that this person was alive but since I already knew they were dead I was not expecting a pretty voice in fact I was not expecting a voice at all "what is your bidding my master?" I was at first surprised that it could speak English now just from evolving once I guess when system said they gain intelligence enough to use tactics I probably should have figured it they also regain the ability to speak but his voice was quite raspy and it sounded like how to best describe it like if you were to take a kind of a tuba like sound but turn up the volume and pitch to mimic a voice a little bit better and that's why his voice sounded like it was deep raspy and definitely sound like it came from a dead person that's for certain "tell me what should I call you if you have no clue then even if I'm re-elected I will have to name you" I want to see how much intelligence had he regained even if it was a miniscule amount it would still prove useful to know how much of their intelligence they've regained after all this was one of the bodies of the bandits who refused to join me 2 days prior it spoke to me "I am paarthurnax first born of the sentient dead" a notification had appeared this one was more different than the others I have gotten "the firstborn of your sentient undead has been created you now have an undead Commander what rank would you like to give him" and then a selection of four different ranks appeared in my face those ranks were captain. lieutenant. Commander. general. I chose lieutenant that way he wasn't that high up in the rink and it does seem like even later on I can change his rank after I did that I had another notification "congratulations you have taken your first step to building your army and you have earned the perk undead squad" when I saw the new perk I got curious so I looked at the undead squad Park and I found it quite interesting"all undead minions under your control get a 25% increased health and necromancy related spells cost to learn is cut in half" that last bit made me really happy it means I could improve my chances of actually surviving this by a lot especially since my whole goal is to wipe out all other religions which is a big order to fill but not big enough where it's impossible considering I just have to do that to this continent eldwin didn't say I had to do it to the entire world which even a God can understand that would be impossible or for at least a human "paarthurnax gather all the undead minions in this room and tell the living I want to have a meeting" he would look at me and then nod "as you wish my master" paarthurnax went out like he was instructed to I then sat in a chair that I placed in the center of the room where there was a mountain of bone there and think to myself "maybe we can attack a town now or at least attempt to force the other bandit clans to fall under my rule I will have to make sure that this is okay with everyone" as I thought about this I remember that I got spark to Master level meaning I had a blank spell token meaning that I could learn create undead I quickly spent it so I could get the spell then I got that magical notification "congratulations you have learned the create undead spell" as I looked at its current capacity at my understanding of it I could have 5 undead under my control at any given time and that master rank I could have up to 40 undead minions at any given time which brought a massive smile to my face because just like raise dead all I needed to do was to use it but there was one other condition which was to create five evolved versions of a basic undead which I could do easily since the first time for a basic undead to evolve was basically free to evolve and to raise as as I was finishing thinking to myself I noticed paarthurnax had completed his task and everyone was sitting around in the room except for the undead who we're just standing around "all right everyone I have brought you here to make a vote and that is do we start off by attacking a village or forcing the others bandit clans to bend to my will take your time to think over your vote this is a big decision I won't rush you" as I said this the look on their faces were honestly seriously considering what to do I watched their faces contort and change for about a few minutes it seemed as they all considered but leo was the first one to give an answer "I say we take the bandit clans in our before we attack a village and finish rebuilding the fortress as well and forge a good amount of equipment as well" the rest seemingly like the idea of this but I had a smile on my face as I waited for the rest to give their opinions Helga was the next to speak up "I say we attack a village I know small one that would be easy pickins with our size of our group" some face is contorted in agreement the elf being one of them Luna they both trust each other what seem to be enough to throw their vote in with each other cuz soon after Helga spell Luna did as well "I'm with Helga I say we attack of village" so far it was one vote four bandits and two votes for a village I saw Drake spoke up next "I say we make the other band of clans apart of ours before we attack a village" now it was 2 for 2 the four new faces that we had what here they were out scouting well two of them were the other two were just out hunting bill spoke up next he looked a lot braver than he did before "I'm with the girls we should attack a village" then paarthurnax spoke up "I'm with Leo and Drake we should increase our numbers so we make sure no one escapes The village when we attack it" it was 3 for 3 the five living members currently present we're expecting me to count the deathless vote I spoke "that's 3 for 3" everyone looked at me waiting to hear my vote
