Becoming the first person to wake up, just like every day, Kalle quickly pulled out some eggs, cheese, and bread and went to the kitchen.
He spent a few minutes cooking them before waking Vella up.
As per usual, Vella spent another 10 minutes rolling around in her bed, stretching and yawning, and scrolling her social media first before finally getting out of bed.
On the other hand, Kalle had already eaten his breakfast and he was currently scrolling the news on his phone.
There were no further instructions from the government, they only reminded the people to keep staying at home as they were currently still assessing the situation.
Kalle was about to turn off his phone when he stumbled upon a video that caught his attention.
In the video, there weren't any militaries with their guns or tanks in front of the red portal that spits out zombies.
However, there was little to no chaos in that area as all the zombies were dealt with properly.
It wasn't by any military or masses of people.
Instead, a single man with a baseball bat in his hands stood in front of those zombies, swinging the metal bat and breaking the zombies' heads.
It just looked like the man was so powerful and tireless as he kept on mowing down more zombies that came out of the portal.
But in Kalle's eyes, he saw glimpses of mana being emitted by the man's body as he kept fighting the seemingly unending wave of zombies.
Comparing the goblins that Kalle met when the portal first appeared near his place, the number of zombies that came out of the red portal was at least several times as many as the goblins.
There might even be as many zombies as the goblins in the goblin village.
But the man stood strong, only moving a little to adjust his position so that he was able to hit the slow-moving zombies.
'Mana…'
Kalle then scrolled some more through the hashtag of the video and he soon found out more.
He found more people who emitted mana from their bodies.
Some people were quite subtle just like the man and they were able to have inhuman speed, endurance, and strength.
Some used medieval-looking weapons that seemingly came straight out of a movie set to hunt down the creatures that came out of the portal.
However, there were also a few people who straight-up used magic.
He saw one that was capable of casting a similar-looking fireball like Betnulb, his contracted goblin shaman, though theirs were weaker and couldn't explode as huge as Betnulb's.
He saw another capable of using telekinesis, lifting the monster without moving a finger and throwing it all over the place.
If Kalle was doubtful before, he was sure now that there were other people out there who were capable of using mana.
He didn't know whether these people already had mana from the start or they awakened some kind of ability after the headache that descended on all humans on Earth.
But the fact that he wasn't the only one capable of using inhuman powers was clear.
Which was good when he thought about these people with abilities defeating the monsters that came out of the portal.
However, as a human being who had dived into the real society, Kalle knew that it wouldn't only be the case.
If all people, not knowing how, suddenly awakened inhuman powers that enabled them to stand above others, then good things wouldn't be the only thing that came out of it.
Kalle realized he needed to stand guard even more and increase his cautiousness to protect his sister even better.
If these people with power ever threatened himself or Vella, then Kalle would have to make sure that he could take out the threat or at least get out alive with no permanent wounds.
Thinking about this, Kalle suddenly remembered something the ring had explained last night.
'The legacy dungeon.'
After hearing the explanation from the ring and remembering how he needed even more power to ensure his and Vella's safety in a world that began to change either for the worse or the better, Kalle instantly recalled the legacy dungeon.
'I should enter it as soon as possible…'
Kalle then got up from his seat and changed his clothes. He made sure to wear a worn-out one to ensure that he didn't ruin the few good clothes that he had.
Kalle put his phone and wallet in his pocket first before secretly putting them inside his inventory to make sure they didn't fall when he ran around.
Kalle then walked to the front door while saying,
"Vella, I will walk around the area first to check, keep yourself safe, okay?"
Hearing what he was about to do, Vella's drowsiness went away and she put down her phone.
"No! Don't go out yet. You might meet those creatures again. It's dangerous!"
Vella was terrified thinking about the weird creatures that she had seen in those videos, but Kalle on the other hand,
He just remembered how satisfying it was to break a goblin's skull with one smack of his staff.
"I know, but I need to make sure how we can get food, water, and other necessities if this lockdown is going to be prolonged."
"Still no! You were lucky that you were able to survive yesterday, but we don't know what would happen today! One of those portals might even show up right in front of your face!"
Kalle coughed.
'Already have that happened yesterday.' He thought to himself as he kept thinking of ways to reassure his sister.
She kept on giving him lectures and denied all logical answers he tried giving her to convince her.
Kalle then remembered that pure logic didn't seem to work very well with the girl.
So Kalle decided to use a supernatural reason instead.
Instead of responding to Vella's rant again, Kalle walked up to her, grabbed her waist, and activated basic body enhancement on his hands.
Kalle then easily grabbed Vella and pulled her out of her chair.
"AAAAAAA!!!"
Just like playing with a little baby, Kalle swung Vella around, rotating her body and moving it like an airplane.
Then to prove his point for the last time, Kalle put his right hand on her stomach and released the grip on his left hand.
Using only one hand, Kalle lifted up Vella and moved her around as if she only weighed like a stack of paper.
Kalle eventually put her down back to her chair and walked out, leaving her mouth agape and a head full of questions.
"I will be safe, don't worry. Just make sure you lock the doors and don't let anyone in other than me!"
With that, Kalle left through the door and his mind quickly thought about the places that he could use to enter the legacy dungeon.
Looking at Gilgamesh's gift in his inventory and remembering that he needed more power to handle all kinds of problems that might come his way, Kalle had decided.
He would go into the legacy dungeon as soon as possible to prepare himself for living in this new world.
