Dungeon Master Online

in the future, the biggest gaming company Argus releases their newest game [Dungeon Master Online]. In this game rather than conquering dungeons players are tasked with making and defending a dungeon that is essentially their lifeline, without it death is permanent and they have to start over. Disclaimer: I do not own the image and the MC will get relatively powerful relatively fast. so if you don't like that leave before complaining, but I will take valid criticism of making my stat boosts too big. In that case, I won't hand one out for a few levels. also, suggestions, if made in the comments the day a chapter is written, won't be taken as I write all my chapters t once in chunks of five a week to be posted through the week, however, the last chapter in a chunk will take suggestions, also shorter pieces are made if I need community feedback sooner than expected and will lead into larger ones which will be five chapters long plus whatever is left of the last chunk.

The End of the Surge

[Congradulations on making it to the end of your first surge! ]

[Your rewards are being calculated…]

[Your rewards have been calculated

Several monsters are ready to evolve

Several monsters have been promoted

You have collected all of the DP from the past week produced by intruders (200,000)

All of the dropped items have been collected (~12,000 DP worth.)

You have earned shop info based on your playstyle. (while anyone can buy these items they need to find them alone, and you have earned the right to be told about them, a slight advantage over anyone who didn't actively look through everything that could be bought from the dungeon store.)

Your dungeon has the chance to force a level up

You have gained 1,000 Xp ]

Smaug reading over his rewards was delighted to see the various things he got but, while he wasn't upset he was upset to see a second panel appear.

[Dungeon buffs have ended:

Ice mage's bane

Surge daily DP bonus]

"I'm back to the old DP rate, aren't I? What was it again, 300? It feels like I've been in that surge for longer than a week, so much has been happening. I hope the rest of my experiences are going to be that fun. I'm even more excited for my adventures in the future I already have so many ideas but for now, I should deal with this dungeon level-up chance"

[Your dungeon core has been bathing in dense mana for the past week, if you wish to you can spend 300 DP to absorb it with a 10% chance to instantly level up your dungeon. However, using more DP and even your own mana intertwined you can create basic magical items with no real effects other than being able to fortify your dungeons level up.]

"I see, well empty out my entire dungeon inventory, we are making some magic items"

Just then the dungeon core started glowing and after a bright flash, a small pile of armor, weapons, and other supporting equipment appeared out of seemingly nowhere. As soon as Smaug saw these items as if being directed he started directing his mana towards the items and waited as both his DP and mana counts went down, eventually, his mana hit 0, but only a couple of DP had actually been spent.

[Do not worry about if your items are ready or not you can always come back later after regenerating your mana, however, it seems you have several level-ups ready. In fact, you have already reached level 5, which means you have 9 stat points which you can use to get more mana.]

"Oh really? Well then show me my stats."

[Stats avasilanble: 9

STR: 5 (+)

AGI: 3 (+)

INT: 7 (+)

WIS: 4 (+)

VIT: 5 (+)

DEF:6 (+)

DEX: 3 (+)]

"Well, I don't know what my playstyle is yet. But I do know I want to try at least a bit of as many different things as possible, however right now I need magic power, and the more the better. It is stupid in the long run BUT I can balance it out in the future by not putting stats into INT, this still has the issue of the fact that every point becomes more expensive XP-wise as time goes on. If a wizard puts all their points into INT and WIS, then when they need VIT later then even if they only had one or two in their VIT they would still need to grind out far more than a new account that is just starting out bringing their own VIT to the same level, I bet there are stat boosting items out there, maybe even permanent raw stat boosts, so for now, I have decided to put all my stats into INT."

[Stats avasilanble: 0

STR: 5

AGI: 3

INT: 16

WIS: 4

VIT: 5

DEF:6

DEX: 3 ]

"Yeah, that hurt but I feel like I made the right choice, looking over at my mana, I now have an extra 900 I can instantly put into, that is already more than my old maximum more than doubling the amount of mana I can put into these items."

After another minute or so of enchanting Smaug had finished enchanting and had only used 10 DP.

"Ok, where will my chance be if I use these items?"

[your chance of success will be increased to 15%, you can always buy items from the dungeon store and use those as well, but you8 must hurry at the end of the day the dense mana will disperse into your dungeon granting you only a measly 150 DP which is nowhere near as much as you would get if you were successful with your level up.]

"Fair enough, how many items enchanted to this level will I need to get my chance up to at least 50%?"

[Approximately 100 regular weapons give or take a few hundred depending on the material used.]

"Ok then buy 100 iron swords for 50k DP."

[purchasing…]

Then a large pile of swords appeared. Then Smaug got enchanting, and he enchanted the entire pile for the rest of the day. In doing so many of the items were almost glowing some being almost unstable containing too much magic power within them, these were set aside while everything else kept bathing in Smaug's mana every hour or so when it was regenerated to full.

[The day is almost over and your current upgrade chance has moved up to 73.5%. Would you like to upgrade?]

"All I have to lose is the multiple hours I spent on doing this, all the mana I wasted, and the 50k DP I spent on this so sure."

[confirmed, attempting upgrade…]

[SUCCESS! Your dungeon is now level 4!]

"Awesome, now to look at those other rewards. Firstly what shop info did I earn?"

[You have earned info on [respawn stones] by paying for an absurd amount of DPmcpmared to the cost of a monster you can have it respawn with all of its memories, skills, and experience in tack with little to no drawbacks indefinitely. You can also save a little bit of DP by having the stone sacrifice the strength of the monster or only work a limited number of times. This is great for when you have a monster that is extra important to your dungeon that you want to keep alive, but be advised a dungeon stone only works inside of the dungeon if the monster manages to die outside of the dungeon it is forever gone.]

Creation is hard, cheer me up!

Your gift is the motivation for my creation. Give me more motivation!

thinking about the potential for a bonus chapter next week if we reach the top 10 in the all-time power stone rankings by Friday. (we won't) (I am tempting fate to my benefit and challenging the internet)
